An evaluation of Man On! Inverclyde
This report contains the findings of an evaluation of Man On! Inverclyde (MOI) with respect to its activity undertaken as a result of grants awarded under the Scottish Government Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults (the Fund). The evaluation activities were conducted by Dr Jacob Asplin (the author) of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) Directorate of Public Health between October 2023 and March 2024. The focus of this evaluation was on the experience of accessing and using the MOI service and not on the circumstances or issues that brought people to the service. Only those activities and time periods supported directly by grants awarded under the Fund, i.e. the Adult Services including Crisis Support, were in scope for this evaluatio
Hidden numbers: self-harm in children and young people in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health needs assessment
This work seeks to assess the needs of children and young people who self-harm in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC). Through a combination of information sources including surveys, service data, academic literature, interviews and focus groups of teachers and mental health workers, the report builds a picture of self-harm as a common, impactful and likely increasing issue amongst our young population

: In November 2023 Scotland's first dedicated self-harm strategy and action plan was published which aims for anyone affected by self-harm, to receive compassionate support, without fear of stigma or discrimination. The strategy highlights the need to continue to expand and deepen self-harm knowledge, provision of core training and continuous professional development for key professional groups including schools and further education. Inequalities in participation in screening programmes: a summary of learning from engagement activities
To support implementation of the NHS GGC Widening Access and Addressing Inequalities in Adult Screening Programmes Action Plan for 2022-25 plan, an Engagement Practitioner was recruited to focus on increasing informed participation in screening among Black and Minority Ethnic communities. This report evaluates the findings of this work in order to ensure learning will be used in future developments to address inequalities in screening programmes
