It is the follow up in a series of studies which started in 1999 when NHS Greater Glasgow conducted a health and wellbeing study of their population. The study has been repeated every three years. In 2008 the study expanded to take in the area covered by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, this study represents the first follow-up of the expanded study and also allows trends to be explored in the area administered by the former NHS Greater Glasgow
