KSIS: Kalayaan College Student Information System

At present, Kalayaan College does not have a computerized process for its post- enrollment activities such as submission and viewing of grades, class list generation, reports generation, and etc. The current manual system is expensive, tedious and is prone to human error. The Kalayaan College Student Information System (KSIS) is a web-based system that would automate the post-enrollment processes of Kalayaan College in order to improve information management, staff efficiency and make trans- actions easier for the students, faculty and staff

LeafSnapPH: A Mobile Application for Identifying Leaf Samples of Philippine Plants

The task of identifying plants is time-consuming even for botanists. LeafSnap PH is a mobile application that will aid users in identifying plant species through their leaves. The system will allow the user to search the database, browse the list of collected leaf samples, and take pictures of leaves and analyze them. The leaf feature that will be extracted is its shape using contour points, and this will be used in identifying the leaf using support vector machine

Voterify: Using The Homomorphic Encryption Project (THEP) to Provide Privacy and Verifiability in Internet Voting

Internet voting (I-Voting) has already been used in several elections but its use is not yet widespread due to numerous security requirements. Among the top security requirements are privacy and verifiability. We created Voterify, an Internet voting application, that uses The Homomorphic Encryption Project (THEP) to look into the feasibility of using Paillier cryptosystem in providing privacy preserving and verifiable elections in Internet voting

    Chronic Kidney Disease Monitoring System

Chronic Kidney Disease is a lifelong condition that requires regular monitoring to effectively reduce the risk of further complications and improve the patient’s quality of life. With these given, Chronic Kidney Disease Monitoring System aims to be an alternative to traditional monitoring process by providing users with functionalities to submit medical event, and submit clinical logs which will be converted to graphs for analysis. Moreover, this system also aims to boost interaction between users through the use of forum and internal messaging system. Also, it aims to promote circulation of medically validated resources to help patients in making improved and intelligent health decisions

    Novice Assistance in Java Introduction

Novice Assistance in Java Introduction is an extension developed for BlueJ that helps new programmers being introduced to Java in their debugging. Its primary objective is to give a clearer explanation and point out the root cause of a compile error. The compile errors currently thrown by the compiler error don’t necessarily point the novice programmers to the right direction. With the help of NAJI, these compile errors are processed to have a more detailed output like background, root cause, and example

CBR-FM: The UP Manila CAMP Community-Based Rehabilation Form Management System and Mobile Application

Community Based Rehabilitation is a rehabilitation program being implemented by CAMP, wherein interns will perform profiling and treatment in a community within a specific period of time. They fill out paper based forms (WHOQOL, WHODAS, WHODAS Proxy, CNA and FCP) which will later be encoded using Google Forms to be sent to the CBR Data Management Officer (DMO). UP CAMP CBR data is stored via: paper based forms and Google drive. Each storage option presents its own down sides, giving challenges to the users. Also, this setup obviously requires a lot of effort. CBR-FM is a system developed to address the challenges and problems in the current CBR Data Management. The CBR-FM system which composes of a web and mobile application facilitates easier profiling, storage, and overall management of the UP CAMP CBR data. The mobile application is a tool capable of automated profiling of the communities in rural areas. The system met its primary objectives and serves as an initial step in the transformation of UP CAMP CBR programs data management and form submission from paper-based scheme to a more developed automated system

Inventory System With Analytics For Managing Multiple Retail Kiosks

LA Global Product Trends Inc. is a company selling cosmetic products. They currently employ a paper-based system of tallying sales which is consolidated by a Microsoft Excel File. This current system causes a lot of problems such as misplaced tally sheets, delayed stock related decisions, and outdated inventory reports. This project aims to automate LA Global Product Trends Inc.'s inventory management system to hasten report generation, produce sales predictions, keep data up-to-date, and improve stock management for the multiple kiosks owned by the company and the warehouse which distributes the stocks

Tess2Speech: An Intelligent Character Recognition-To-Speech Application for Android Using Google's Tesseract Optical Character Recognition Engine

Tes2Speech is an Android mobile application for recognizing handwritten texts and optionally convert it to speech. By training Google’s Tesseract, which is a free open-source Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Engine, to recognize hand- written texts, I created an alternative for Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) Engine that are proprietary and expensive. OCR Engines’ main purpose is to con- vert scanned documents with computer printed texts into an editable and machine encoded text. But by improving an OCR into ICR to recognize handwritten texts and integrating it into a mobile application in this day and age, it greatly improves its usability. It can help speech-impaired people to communicate, help children to recognize the proper pronunciation of words they write, etc. Thus, creating a free and non-proprietary handwriting-to-speech application that is accessible for everyone, and will be very useful for those who are looking for a free, portable, and reliable alternative to ICR, OCR, and other related expensive communication devices. Tes2Speech includes a user-friendly Tesseract trainer desktop application in order for the user to personalize Tess2Speech for their own handwritings

A Personal Mobile Time Management and Motivation Application

Time management is the ability to plan and control how you spend the hours in your day to effectively accomplish your goals. Some problems encountered by someone managing their time are underestimating how long a task can be accomplished, even if the task has been done before, and the non-compliance of an individual in their plan on managing their time. This project aims to help solving these problem through the creation of an application that reminds and map estimated start and end times against the actual start and end times of a task. With this application, users can map and see if their estimated time correspond to the actual time a task is done. The users can then adjust accordingly based on the monitored results

    Fire Detection System using CCTV

With the fast advancement of technology in the area of the CCTV’s, different applications for the said technology is being developed right now. Aside from the fact that there is a law that dictates that all businesses in the Philippines are required to install and maintain CCTV’s if they fall on at least one of three categories, people use CCTV’s to monitor their properties even remotely. One relatively new application for the CCTV is fire detection. Current fire detectors are prone to errors because smoke detectors can be set off even with the smoke from a cigarette and other types of smoke that isn’t produced by fire. This system makes use of computer vision in analyzing the video inputs from the CCTV camera
