Note : This question paper consists of two parts : Part – A and Part-B Number of words to answers each
question is only indicative. Attempt all parts.
Part-A contains 08 questions, of which students are supposed to answer 05 questions.  Answer each
question in approximately 100 words.  Each question carries 05 marks.  (5x5=25 marks)
Part-B contains 02 questions, of which students are supposed to answer 01 question.  Answer each
question in approximately 250 words.  Each question carries 10 marks. (1x10=10 marks)
	
Part-A	
1)   What is reading?  What are the different purposes of reading?
2)   What is the difference between a sentence, a clause and a phrase? Explain with examples.
3)   ‘Hearing and Listening are two different processes.’  Explain this statement with
 examples.
4)   Write short notes on ‘Pause’ and ‘Intonation.’
5)   What are the characteristics of a good listener?
6)   ‘Role Play can be an effective technique for teaching listening and speaking skills.
  Explain this statement with examples.
7)   What are different types of listening? Explain each with examples.
8)   Deep Public School, Amethi, is going to organise a Sports Meet on 20th March 2022. As
 a Sports Activity Incharge of the school, write a notice inviting entries for participation
 from the students under different categories.
Part- B
9)   Write a letter to the Principal of your college requesting to install a water purifying
 system in the college campus.
10)  What should be the points of consideration for making an effective presentation on any
 topic?
