Weight gains of rams of TAAT Sheep fattening scaling project beneficiaries
The TAAT project is scaling up adoption of improved sheep fattening technology and practices in Ethiopia through implementation of benchmark sites which comprise sheep fattening youth groups and model champion farmers. The dataset contains the results of a sheep fattening experiment conducted inside the TAAT project.
The experiment aims to measure the weight gains for sheeps in three sites: Doyogena, Bonga and Menz

Takhwsh Sub Watershed

The dataset is composed by a series of maps from 2014 to 2019 on biomass and water productivity for the entire Nile delta. The dataset includes also frequency distribution of water productivity and biomass. All files are stored in TIF format
The Response of Grazed Vegetation in Relation to the Type of Landscape in the Flat Rangelands, Uzbekistan
The dataset describes the information collected on the response of grazed vegetation in relation to landscape type in the flat rangelands of Uzbekistan over two seasons in 2016 (autumn and spring). We used a grazing gradient approach as a main tool to detect fine-scale changes in vegetation composition and its structure. Three monitoring sites with different levels of livestock grazing were selected for conducting the vegetation surveys: rangeland areas around 2 watering wells and one rangeland area with no/limited livestock grazing. The rangeland vegetation around 2 watering wells was surveyed as a distance away from the watering well. Three transects radiating in 3 directions from the center of the well were allocated at every 120 degrees apart from North. The length of each transect ranged between 3.0-3.5 km from the center of the well. Along each transect, as a distance away from the well, 3 stops were selected to detect vegetation changes caused by different levels of livestock grazing. In total 9 stops were monitored around each watering well. The site is typical sandy rangeland of Kyzylkum desert in Karakalpakstan in West Uzbekistan, dominated by white saxaul (Haloxylon persicum Bunge ex Boiss. & Buhse) while the Ferulafoetida (Bunge) Regel is widely expanded in areas with high load of livestock grazing. The vegetation measurements basically included biomass, cover and density of perennial plants, the biomass of annuals, monitored using 1 square meter quadrat in scarce vegetation of sand rangelands. The total numbers of shrubs of each species were counted and separated into 3 size categories (big, medium, small). For each species within every size category, 3 representative plants were clipped for the determination of annual green biomass using the reference technique. Biomass production of ephemerals and ephemerides was identified within1 square meter quadrats frame, randomly distributed with 3 replications. The cover of shrub species (described through the line intercept) was determined along a line intercept using a tape measure 100 m long
Tree Planting Data 2017 - Kenya
In order to assess the impact of the Land Restoration Program, understanding what land restoration options work, where and for whom, there is need to identify the context-specific variables that may influence the performance of the restoration options as well as their uptake. In addition to monitoring the performance of the restoration option being implemented, a registration of the farmers involved in the project was conducted. A standard household survey was used, assessing both the socio-economic and biophysical characteristics of the households. The farmers were from seven sub-counties across three Kenyan counties. Specifically, the farmers were from Mwala, Yatta and Masinga sub-counties in Machakos County; Mwingi Central and Kitui Rural in Kitui County; and Mbooni East and Kibwezi East in Makueni County. The present dataset includes data about tree planting in experimental plots developed inside the project, from 1286 households. The tree planting data were collected in 2017 about six month after the establishement of the plots.

Weather data for two sites in Central Asia (1936-2018)
This data was collected for the project: "Collaborative Research Project on Sustainable Soil Management to Enhance Agricultural Productivity in Central Asia" as part of its Activity 2.1: "Model simulations to assess impact of climate change on agricultural productivity and adaptation of potential technologies ". The data is long-term average monthly temperature and rainfall for the years from 1936 to 2018 for two locations: Karshi (Uzbekistan) and Khujand (Tajikistan)

The farmers were from four district of Ethiopia: Boset, Gursum, Samre and Tsaeda Emba. The present dataset includes socio-economical data about 173 households, including general information about the farms. Specific data about agricultural operations, crops, trees and the experimental plots developed inside the project, are part of a separated dataset.

Impact of rest duration and land tenure on plant species density (Annual and perennial species) of degraded rangelands in Tunisia
To investigated changes in the spatial and temporal patterns of community structure and rangeland function in response to the period of rest. A total of 20 sites in southern Tunisia (Tataouine) covering more than 15000 ha including 12 private rangelands and 4 communal subjected to grazing management, in addition to 4 freely grazed site which considered as control were retained for detailed monitoring-assessment study. This data could be one of the tools to examine the impact and potential of traditional best practices for rangeland restoration on regeneration and the persistence of plant species by monitoring the evolution of specific characters (global plant cover, specific frequencies, flora richness and the plant density, biomass, rangeland production and carrying capacity). The state of the soil surface (wind veil, crust, stones, litter) is also studied to monitor and assess changes of soil structure.
Annual plant species density is measured in each site by counting species individuals inside randomly established 9 quadrats with 1m2 area each (3 quadrats per line x 3). However, the density of perennial plants consisted of counting the number of each species tuft within 5 quadrats of 1 m2 area each
