JOURNAL ENTRY: THE IMPACT OF COGNITIVE LOAD ON REAL-TIME LANGUAGE PRODUCTION

Using a dual-task experimental design, participants completed language production tasks under varying levels of cognitive load. The results reveal that higher cognitive load significantly reduces speech fluency, increases error rates, and disrupts grammatical complexity. These findings highlight the critical role of cognitive resources in linguistic performance and provide insights into how cognitive demands shape language use in real-time settings. The implications extend to language learning, communication strategies, and the development of adaptive systems in education and artificial intelligence
ALUR DALAM NOVEL CATATAN JUANG KARYA FIERSA BESARI SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF BAHAN AJAR SASTRA TINGKAT SMA
No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tahapan-tahapan alur yang terdapat di dalam novel Catatan Juang karya Fiersa Besari. Di satu sisi, luaran dari penelitian ini yaitu dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif bahan ajar sastra tingkat SMA dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Hal ini sebagaimana diatur di dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada Fase F Tingkat Lanjut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis simak dan catat. Hasil analisis dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa novel Catatan Juang karya Fiersa Besari memiliki lima tahapan alur. Lima tahapan alur tersebut antara lain yaitu 1) tahap situasi (situation) berisi tentang penggambaran karakter dari tokoh yang bernama Kasurina; 2) tahap pemunculan konflik (generating circumtances) berisi tentang perjalanan tokoh Kasuarina ketika memutuskan keluar dari pekerjaannya untuk mengejar cita-citanya menjadi seorang sineas; 3) tahap peningkatan konflik (rising action) berisi tentang tantangan yang harus dihadapi oleh tokoh Kasuarina untuk menyelesaikan film dokumenternya; 4) tahap klimaks (climax) berisi tentang film dokumenter yang dirilis oleh tokoh Kasuarina dan tim berhasil menghentikan aktivitas pembangunan pabrik semen di desanya; dan 5) tahap penyelesaian (denoument) berisi tentang puncak dari ketegangan konflik yang dialami oleh tokoh Kasuarina
DEIXIS IN THE SONG LYRICS IN DPR IAN’S ALBUM ENTITLED MOODSWINGS IN TO ORDER
No full textThe aim of this study research is to analyze three types of deixis and explain the referential meaning of deixis that found in Moodswings in to Order song lyrics. The researcher select Moodswings in to Order album as the subject of research. The song lyrics analyzed through pragmatic approach. The theory that used in this research is from Alan Cruse (2000) about deixis. This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data collected from twelve songs of DPR Ian’s Moodswings in to Order album. Next, the deixis classified into their own types based on the criteria. The findings showed that deixis like person deixis, spatial deixis, and temporal deixis are used in the song lyrics of DPR Ian’s Moodswings in to Order album. The use of person deixis to show the participant role in the song. Spatial deixis used to show a place or location in the utterance. While for temporal deixis, it indicates of time when it happens or frame of time in the song
