Flatifiles and Related Digital Products for the Fault Displacement Hazard Initiative Database
The contents of the Fault Displacement Hazard Initiative (FDHI) Database are provided as set of flatfiles in three formats as a convenience to end-users: comma-separated (CSV) files, Esri shapefiles, and Google Earth KMZ files.
Each format contains separate files for different data geometries: mapped surface ruptures are lines and fault displacement measurement sites are points. The reference line (ECS) axes that serve as the basis for the event-specific coordinates are provided separate from the rupture and measurement data.
Eight files are included in the download:
01_FDHI_FLATFILE_DEFINITIONS.xlsx– This file defines the columns in the measurements, ruptures, and ECS files.
02_FDHI_FLATFILE_MEASUREMENTS.csv– Fault displacement measurement data and metadata in CSV format.
03_FDHI_FLATFILE_RUPTURES.csv– Mapped surface rupture data and metadata in CSV format.
04_FDHI_FLATFILE_ECS.csv– Event coordinate system reference lines and metadata in CSV format.
05_FDHI_FLATFILE_MEASUREMENTS.shp.zip– Fault displacement measurement data and metadata in Esri shapefile format.
06_FDHI_FLATFILE_RUPTURES.shp.zip– Mapped surface rupture data and metadata in Esri shapefile format.
