A fuzzy-based model proposal for risk assessment prioritization using failure mode and effect analysis and Z numbers: a real case study in an automotive factory
An integrated Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) methodology combines the Delphi technique, Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), and Vlsekrerijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) methods, enhanced with Z numbers. The approach applies to a real case in a bus production line in Turkey to improve risk assessment in human–robot collaboration. DEMATEL identifies interdependencies among failure modes, while VIKOR enables effective risk prioritization. Z numbers incorporate expert judgment under uncertainty in evaluating occurrence, severity, and detection. Severity and occurrence receive the highest weights (0.4062 and 0.2589). Hardware, process reliability, and robot technology level emerge as the top three failure modes. Fuzzy Cohen’s κ ensures expert consensus and statistical reliability. A comparative analysis supports the precision, adaptability, and robustness of the methodology for decision-making in complex industrial environments
System-Level Performance Analysis of Li-ion Batteries and DC-DC Converters under Various Charging Strategies
Charging strategies play a key role in battery energy storage systems, specifically in applications like electric vehicles. Inefficient charging methods can increase safety risks, performance, and battery life degradation, highlighting the need to develop more advanced charging protocols. Different charging techniques have distinct effects on the LIB and DC-DC converter's electrical and thermal performance. Therefore, this paper investigates different charging techniques in order to determine the LIB and DC-DC converter's electrical and thermal performance parameters. The charging techniques that have been investigated are constant current (CC), multi-stage constant current (MSCC), boost current (BC) charging, and constant power (CP) charging. Results indicate notable variations in charging time, charge input capacity, converter efficiency, and thermal performance across the different strategies. For instance, CC charging exhibits higher efficiency than other charging methods despite differing temperature rise profiles in the DC-DC converter and LIB. Additionally, the CP charging strategy performs well in charged input capacity compared to other methods, with a moderate temperature rise. These results highlight the trade-offs between various performance parameters under different charging strategies. The findings highlight the importance of selecting an appropriate charging strategy based on specific performance targets

Search for pair production of heavy particles decaying to a top quark and a gluon in the lepton+jets final state in proton–proton collisions at √s=13TeV
A search is presented for the pair production of new heavy resonances, each decaying into a top quark (t) or antiquark and a gluon (g). The analysis uses data recorded with the CMS detector from proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138fb-1. Events with one muon or electron, multiple jets, and missing transverse momentum are selected. After using a deep neural network to enrich the data sample with signal-like events, distributions in the scalar sum of the transverse momenta of all reconstructed objects are analyzed in the search for a signal. No significant deviations from the standard model prediction are found. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set on the product of cross section and branching fraction squared for the pair production of excited top quarks in the t∗→tg decay channel. The upper limits range from 120 to 0.8fb for a t∗with spin-1/2 and from 15 to 1.0fb for a t∗with spin-3/2. These correspond to mass exclusion limits up to 1050 and 1700GeV for spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 t∗particles, respectively. These are the most stringent limits to date on the existence of t∗→tg resonances
Realistic Cranial Defect Design and Integration Approach in CT-Based Segmented Skulls BT Tabanli Kafatasi B l tlemesinde Ger ek i Kraniyal Defekt Tasarimi ve Entegrasyon Yakla simi
Machine learning is playing an increasingly important role in completing and analyzing missing or damaged regions in cranial reconstruction. In this paper, we propose an approach that embeds realistically generated synthetic defects into healthy skull samples after reducing the boundary coordinates of manually designed implants to two dimensions via Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Experiments on eleven different implant samples demonstrate that more than 98% of the variance is preserved after PCA, thereby confirming that anatomical consistency is largely maintained. This realistic approach aims to overcome the limited diversity in existing datasets and enhance the performance of machine learning-based methods for defect modeling. Our comprehensive and anatomically realistic synthetic dataset makes a significant contribution to cranial reconstruction processes and provides a solid foundation for deep learning-driven solutions
