Who Moves to the Countryside, and Why? A Systematic Review of Urban-to-rural Migration
As urban areas face issues such as overcrowding and high living costs, rural destinations are attracting diverse migrant groups seeking alternative lifestyles and improved quality of life. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of who these migrants are and what drives their decisions to re-locate. Following PRISMA guidelines, we analysed 337 peer-reviewed articles from Scopus and Web of Science databases up to 2024. Our findings reveal that urban-to-rural migrants are a heterogeneous group spanning various ages, educational backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. Motivations for migration are multifaceted, encompassing economic factors like lower living costs and entrepreneurial opportunities, as well as non-economic drivers such as community connection and proximity to nature. The COVID-19 pandemic has further influenced these trends, accelerating remote work possibilities and health-related concerns. This review highlights the complexity of urban-to-rural migration, emphasizing its potential impacts on rural community dynamics, economic development, and policy-making.Keywords: Characteristics of migrants, motivations of migrants, PRISMA method, systematic literature review, urban-to-rural migration.</p

Integrating Machine Learning Models for Regional Sea Level Monitoring: The Australian Coastal Experience
This research uses hybrid machine learning technique to show the regional trends of sea level change along the Australian coastline. The study uses a combination of machine learning algorithms to capture regional heterogeneity in sea level changes by combining data from 43 tidal gauge stations and grid satellite altimetry solutions covering the years 1993–2023. A robust regional evaluation is provided by the hybrid modeling framework, which combines spatial interpolation approaches with algorithms such as Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (DT), Support Vector Machines (SVM), and Gaussian Process Regression (GPR).The results show that the hybrid approach is able to effectively capture both temporal trends and spatial patterns in sea level variations, especially when DT is combined with spatial analysis. Regional variations in sea level trends were identified, and the northern regions exhibit slightly different patterns compared to the southern coastal areas. The model explained up to 76% of the variance in the tide gauge data while giving very accurate predictions of regional trends with average rates of 3.55-4.06 mm/year for tide gauge data and 3.13-3.99 mm/year for satellite altimetry data.A new regional classification is proposed, which is based on the patterns of sea level behavior and delineates well-defined coastal zones characterized by similar features of the trend. This is a very useful regional categorization for local coastal management strategies and also pinpoints areas that need special attention in climate adaptation planning. These results clearly show the importance of regional variation in sea level trends and hybrid machine learning methods for efficient monitoring of coastal environments.</p
A System Dynamics Approach for Sustainability in the Natural Gas Energy Market
The natural gas energy market is a dynamically-complex system, comprising various interconnected components and involving a diverse array of stakeholders. Achieving sustainable development within this sector necessitates a comprehensive understanding of its components and their dynamic es that focus solely on specifiinteractions. Traditional approaches to improving energy systems have often adopted narrow perspectivc components, disregarding their interconnected nature. Such approaches limit our comprehension of the system and hinder our ability to mitigate undesirable outcomes. This paper employs a System Dynamics approach to construct a comprehensive systems model of the natural gas energy market, employing a case study centered around Türkiye. The model provides a holistic visualization of the energy market, identifying crucial feedback mechanisms that shape the sector’s behavior. Furthermore, this model serves as a shared language, facilitating a better understanding of the market among stakeholders and providing a platform to identify key leverage points for implementing systematic intervention strategies, thereby advancing the development of a sustainable natural gas energy market. Research findings reveal significant risks associated with policy decisions concerning energy security and environmental interventions, particularly in relation to the oil and gas components and CO2 emissions

Arvo Pärt (1935) is recognised as one of the most important representatives of the minimalism movement in the contemporary music world. One of the most striking features of minimalism in the postmodern period is that the music has a simple but deep structure, far from complexity. Pärt created his own compositional technique by reshaping the musical forms of the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods from a modern perspective. This technique was called “Tintinnabuli” and formed the basis of the composers musical language. Arvo Pärt’s Fratres has an important place in the contemporary music repertoire and poses various challenges for violin players, both technically and interpretationally. This article aims to discuss the resources and study methods that violin students in particular may need when studying the piece. Fratres minimalist structure and tintinnabuli technique require a disciplined approach, from the structural analysis of the piece to technical studies and interpretation. Accordingly, the article aims to provide information that will help students understand and perform the piece more effectively.</p
