    Water quality in any water body is dependent on its physicochemical properties, the knowledge of which is necessary to maintain the suitability of the environment for aquatic organisms. In Bangladesh, the Halda River, a valuable spawning ground for the Indian major carp species is currently believed to be under threat due to anthropogenic and environmental causes. To identify the physicochemical properties of this river, eleven physical and chemical parameters were under investigation for 24 months, from January, 2017 to December, 2018, at three selected stations on the river. The average and range values of the investigated parameters were: 27.70±1.25 °C and 22.52–30.77 °C for water temperature, 24.96±6.11 cm and 15.33–35.33 cm for transparency, 114.36±14.42 µS/cm and 54.67–162.17 µS/cm for electrical conductivity (EC), 50±10 ppm and 30–70 ppm for total dissolved solids (TDS), 7.46±0.14 and 7.1–7.7 for pH, 6.17±0.88 mg/L and 4.30–10.07 mg/L for dissolved oxygen (DO), 13.14±2.41 mg/L and 7.49–43.29 mg/L for free carbon dioxide (fCO2), 7.71±1.15 mg/L and 4.41–11.62 mg/L for calcium (Ca++), 32.76±5.17 mg/L and 17.83–46.33 mg/L for total hardness (TH), 47.10±12.47 mg/L and 36.17–55 mg/L for total alkalinity (TA), and 1.38±0.38 mg/L and 0.72–2.43 mg/L for biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5). Significant positive relationships between transparency and EC (r=0.78, P<0.01), EC and TH (r=0.96, P<0.001), EC and TDS (r=0.92, P<0.001), EC and Ca++(r=0.87, P<0.001), TDS and TH (r=0.86, P<0.001), Ca++ and TH (r=0.87, P<0.001), and Ca++ and TDS (r=0.86, P<0.001) have been observed. Physicochemical properties indicated that the level of pollution of the Halda River water was low, which made it suitable for aquatic organisms and acceptable for domestic and agricultural purposes.Физико-химические свойства любого полезного водного объекта важно знать, чтобы поддерживать его экосистему в состоянии, благоприятном для жизни водных организмов. Состояние реки Халда в Бангладеш, которая является важным нерестилищем для основных видов индийских карпов, находится под угрозой из-за воздействия антропогенных и экологических факторов. Для определения текущего состояния качества воды реки Халда на трех выбранных станциях были исследованы 12 физико-химических параметров за 24-месячный период с января 2017 по декабрь 2018 г. Средние и интервальные значения исследованных параметров были следующими: температура воды — 27,70±1,25 (22,52–30,77) °C, прозрачность — 24,96±6,11 (15,33–35,33) см, электропроводность (ЕС) — 114,36±14,42 (54,67–162,17) мкСм/см, общее количество растворенных твердых веществ (TDS) — 50±10 (30–70) частей на миллион, pH — 7,46±0,14 (7,1–7,7), растворенный кислород (DO) — 6,17±0,88 (4,30–10,07) мг/л, свободный диоксид углерода (fCO2) — 13,14±2,41 (7,49–43,29) мг/л, кальций (Ca++) — 7,71±1,15 (4,41–11,62) мг/л, общая жесткость (TH) — 32,76±5,17 (17,83–46,33) мг/л, общая щелочность (TA) — 47,10±12,47 (36,17–55) мг/л и биохимическая потребность в кислороде (BOD5) — 1,38±0,38 (0,72–2,43) мг/л. Значимая положительная зависимость наблюдалась между температурой воздуха и температурой воды (r=0,87, P<0,001), прозрачностью и электропроводностью (r=0,78, P<0,01), электропроводностью и общей жесткостью (r=0,96, P<0,001), электропроводностью и общим количеством растворенных твердых веществ (r=0,92, P<0,001), электропроводностью и кальцием (r=0,87, P<0,001), общим количеством растворенных твердых веществ и общей жесткостью (r=0,86, P<0,001), кальцием и общей жесткостью (r=0,87, P<0,001) и кальцием и общим количеством растворенных твердых веществ (r=0,86, P<0,001). Физико-химические свойства указывают на то, что уровень загрязнения воды в р.     Determination of Marine Biotoxins Contamination Level of Mussel (Perna Perna) (Linne, 1758) from the Mamelles Bay, Dakar

    This study evaluating marine biotoxins contamination level of mussel (Perna Perna) in the Mamelles Bay (Ouakam) of Dakar is the first report in Senegal. It took place over one year (from March 2018 to February 2019). Liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS) reference method (Regulation (EC) 15/2011 of 10 January 2011) was used to quantify marine biotoxins. Okadaic acid (OA) and its esters are the most problematic of all the researched biotoxins. They are present throughout most of the year, except September and November, with an average monthly concentration of 163 µg/kg, slightly above the regulatory limit (160 µg/kg). The sanitary status of the mussel shows two peaks of contamination, the first of which occurs in the rainy season (August) and the second in the cold season (December), with values equal to 654 and 802 µg/kg respectively 4 to 5 times higher than the regulatory threshold set by Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of 29 April 2004 supplemented by Regulation (EU) No 786/2013 amending its Annex III and Senegalese Order No 07951 of 12 May 2017. These two peaks coincide with (i) the wintering period, marked by continental land- based inputs due to rainwater runoff, but also with the temperature rise, or (ii) the cold period with the appearance of upwelling (upwelling of cold water, rich in nutrient salts). In addition to the chemical analyses carried out on the mussel, the research work on phytoplankton and the surveys of physicochemical parameters carried out on the water at the collection site show (i) the existence of toxic algae of the Dinophysis genus and Gambierdiscus, in June, i.e., one to two months before the first peak of contamination of the Perna perna by AO; (ii) also a coincidence between the appearance of these phenomena and variations in surface water temperature and salinity, which are determining factors in the appearance and development of harmful algal blooms. Concerning the other biotoxins investigated, in particular AZA and yessotoxins, it was noted that AZA was absent throughout the year, unlike yessotoxins, which were found in the flesh of Perna perna at concentrations below the regulatory limit set at 3750 µg/kg. The maximum being 51 µg/kg obtained in June, i.e., 73 times lower than the regulatory threshold. In the light of the results obtained, it appears that the periods of high contamination are the winter period and the upwelling period, which could lead to closure measures to guarantee the safety of the mussels. It would be interesting to extend the study to all other bivalve mollusks and gastropods, to carry out an inventory and quantify the toxic microalgae present in the water.     The patterns and processes that cause a system of regionalization of organisms on the planet are historical and ecological hypotheses that biogeography seeks to elucidate. The Neotropical region is home to one of the greatest richness of freshwater fish in the world that exhibit distinct biogeographic patterns based on ecology, systematics, and evolution. Through methodologies within the scope of historical and/or ecological biogeography, the aims of this study are to present new approaches and contributions to the knowledge of the geographic distribution of freshwater fish in this region, investigating the evolutionary biogeography of Cnesterodontini and Anablepidae, as well as the spatial patterns of ichthyofauna beta-diversity in the Ivaí river basin, Paraná State. The results highlighted well-defined scenarios of the hydrological barriers formation, mainly between coastal basins and drainages that flow into the La Plata River system in South America. These findings enabled congruent relationships of biogeographic areas within the proposals for evolutionary diversification to the Neotropical freshwater fishes. Furthermore, dispersal events caused by headwater captures and sea-level changes satisfactorily complemented the biogeographic patterns and area relationships evidenced for other Neotropical fish lineages, showing similar diversification patterns in the Central Brazil drainages and in the Atlantic coast drainages. The results also showed strong spatial segregation of the ichthyofauna throughout the Ivaí River basin (upper Paraná River system) with emphasis on the mutual influences of niche- and dispersal-based processes. These findings can support new theoretical and methodological references for the main mechanisms and patterns specific to the metacommunities of aquatic organisms. Applying the results herein obtained in historical and ecological consonance has great potential to aid an effective management for the conservation of freshwater fish diversity, whether considering lineages with species at high risk of extinction or even river basins of fundamental importance for maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem functionality in continental aquatic environments.Os padrões e processos que ocasionam um sistema de regionalização dos organismos no planeta são hipóteses históricas e ecológicas que a biogeografia busca elucidar. A região Neotropical abriga uma das maiores riquezas de peixes de água doce do mundo, os quais exibem padrões biogeográficos distintos baseados na ecologia, sistemática e evolução. Por intermédio de metodologias dentro do escopo da biogeografia histórica e/ou ecológica, os objetivos deste estudo são apresentar novas abordagens e contribuições ao conhecimento da distribuição geográfica dos peixes de água doce nesta região ao investigar a biogeografia evolutiva de Cnesterodontini e Anablepidae, bem como os padrões espaciais da diversidade beta da ictiofauna na bacia do rio Ivaí, estado do Paraná. Os resultados destacaram cenários bem definidos da formação de barreiras hidrológicas, principalmente entre bacias hidrográficas costeiras e drenagens que fluem para o sistema do rio da Prata na América do Sul. Essas descobertas possibilitaram congruentes relacionamentos de áreas biogeográficas dentro das propostas de diversificação evolutiva à ictiofauna neotropical. Ainda, eventos de dispersão ocasionados por capturas de cabeceiras e mudanças no nível do mar complementaram satisfatoriamente os padrões biogeográficos e os relacionamentos de áreas evidenciados para outras linhagens de peixes neotropicais, apresentando padrões de diversificação semelhantes nas drenagens do Brasil Central e nas drenagens da costa atlântica. Os resultados também evidenciaram forte segregação espacial da ictiofauna ao longo da extensão da bacia do rio Ivaí (sistema do alto rio Paraná), com destaques às influências mútuas de processos baseados em nicho e dispersão. As novas descobertas podem subsidiar referenciais teóricos e metodológicos para os principais mecanismos e padrões específicos às metacomunidades de organismos aquáticos. A aplicação dos resultados aqui obtidos em consonância histórica e ecológica tem grande potencial ao auxílio de um manejo eficaz para a conservação da diversidade de peixes de água doce, seja considerando linhagens com espécies enquadradas em elevado risco de extinção, ou até mesmo bacias hidrográficas de fundamental importância para a manutenção da biodiversidade e funcionalidade ecossistêmica em ambientes aquáticos continentais.Ph

    Reef assessment in northern Palawan

    As a major fishing ground in Palawan, the reefs in the municipal waters of Araceli and Dumaran are continuously facing anthropogenic and climate-related threats. Hence, to provide information about the reef conditions, surveys were undertaken in three sites of each municipality as the basis for management. Data collection used the C30 method where a 75 m x 25 m sampling area was established at the upper reef slope (2-5 m deep) of each site. Substrates were photo-documented at predetermined random positions and the photos were processed using Coral Point Count with excel extension software (CPCe) to determine the percent substrate categories. Identification and counting of butterflyfishes and benthic macro-invertebrates were also undertaken. The hard-coral cover (HCC) ranged between 27.10 and 53.88% (fair to very good) for Araceli and 22.66 and 48.62% (fair to good) for Dumaran. The number of species and density of butterflyfishes largely varied across reefs. The benthic macro-invertebrates only included the blue Linckia starfish and giant clams. The current reef condition calls for urgent management actions.PublishedReferee

    This study is aimed at the toxicity assessment of the bottom sediments in the Azov Sea. 32 samples of the bottom sediments, taken in Taganrog Bay, as well as in the Northern, Western, Central, Southern, and Eastern regions of the sea, have been investigated. A biotesting method based on whole-cell bacterial lux-biosensors (Vibrio aquamarinus VKPM B-11245, E. coli MG1655 (pRecA-lux), E. coli MG1655 (pKatG-lux), and E. coli MG1655 (pSoxS-lux)) was used to determine the toxicity level. Toxicity analysis of the Azov Sea bottom sediments showed their extensive contamination with pollutants of various nature. Integral toxicity was recorded for the surface sediments of all the investigated stations in the Azov Sea. The pollution level of the bottom sediments was estimated as highly toxic at 31 stations and as toxic at 1 station. The presence of genotoxic substances, both direct and promutagenic, was detected, as well as the presence of substances causing oxidative stress. It is shown that Taganrog Bay, the Central and Eastern regions of the Azov Sea are most exposed to pollution. The most polluted sampling stations for bottom sediments have been identified. Integral toxicity and the toxic effects caused by the presence of genotoxic and prooxidant substances indicate gradual accumulation of pollutants in the bottom sediments of the Azov Sea and its unfavorable environmental state. This study has established the biotesting method involving whole-cell bacterial luminescent sensors as a promising tool for the assessment of the ecotoxicological state of the investigated water body. It is deemed necessary to put further efforts into the identification of toxically active compounds in marine sediments and exploration of their possible sources.Данное исследование направлено на оценку токсичности донных отложений Азовского моря. Были исследованы 32 образца донных отложений, отобранных в Таганрогском заливе, а также в Северном, Западном, Центральном, Южном и Восточном районах собственно моря. Для определения токсичности был использован метод биотестирования на основе цельноклеточных бактериальных lux-биосенсоров (Vibrio aquamarinus VKPM B-11245, E. coli MG1655 (pRecA-lux), E. coli MG1655 (pKatG-lux), E. coli MG1655 (pSoxS-lux)). Анализ токсичности донных отложений Азовского моря показал их масштабное загрязнение поллютантами различной природы. Интегральная токсичность зарегистрирована в донных отложениях всех исследованных станций Азовского моря. Уровень загрязнения донных отложений был оценен как высокотоксичный на 31 станции моря и как токсичный — на 1 станции. Обнаружено присутствие генотоксичных веществ — как прямых, так и промутагенных, — а также веществ, вызывающих окислительный стресс. Показано, что наиболее подвержены загрязнению Таганрогский залив, Центральный и Восточный районы Азовского моря. Выявлены максимально загрязненные станции отбора донных отложений. Интегральная токсичность и токсические эффекты, вызванные присутствием генотоксичных и прооксидантных веществ, свидетельствуют о постепенной аккумуляции поллютантов в донных отложениях Азовского моря и его неблагополучном экологическом состоянии. Проведенное исследование позволило установить, что биотестирование с помощью цельноклеточных бактериальных люминесцентных сенсоров является многообещающим инструментом оценки экотоксикологического состояния исследуемого водоема. Показана необходимость дальнейших работ по выявлению токсикологически активных соединений в морских отложениях и определению потенциальных источников их происхождения.PublishedReferee

    Temporal effect on the parasite fauna of the invasive catfish Trachelyopterus galeatus (Linnaeus, 1766) from a Neotropical plain.

    Aquatic environments have been anthropically influenced over the years, mainly with the construction of dams and hydroelectric plants. However, few studies evaluate how the parasitic fauna can be influenced in the long term by these environmental changes. Possible changes in the composition of endoparasites of the invasive fish Trachelyopterus galeatus in the upper Paraná River floodplain were investigated over a 27-year study period. 79 fish were analyzed in period 1 (1993) and 31 in period 2 (2019/2020). In the first period, the fish showed higher values in the variables weight (g) and standard length (cm), when compared to period 2. A total of five species of endoparasites were found, three per period. Although the richness was the same, the composition of endoparasites differed between the periods, as only one species of digenetic (Microrchis oligovitellum) parasitized the host in both periods of study. It was found that both the development of the fish and its endoparasites were affected over time. It is noteworthy that the beginning of operation of the Porto Primavera dam, located upstream of the plain, occurred between the two sampling periods (1999), and caused several environmental changes, possibly being the main responsible for these changes in the parasitofauna. Most endoparasites require intermediate hosts to complete their life cycles. Therefore, a modified environment may lose diversity and ecological interactions, as it affects the populations they use during the transmission process between hosts. This may explain the difference found in the infracommunities of T. galeatus parasites, emphasizing, through the results obtained, the importance of including these organisms in studies that evaluate environmental impacts caused by anthropic actionsAmbientes aquáticos têm sido influenciado antropicamente ao longo dos anos, principalmente com a construção de barragens e usinas hidrelétricas. Contudo, poucos estudos avaliam como a fauna parasitária pode ser influenciada a longo prazo por essas mudanças ambientais. Investigou-se possíveis alterações na composição de endoparasitas do peixe invasor Trachelyopterus galeatus na planície de inundação do alto rio Paraná, em um intervalo de 27 anos de estudo. Foram analisados 79 peixes no período 1 (1993) e 31 no período 2 (2019/2020). No primeiro período, os peixes apresentaram maiores valores nas variáveis peso (g) e comprimento padrão (cm), quando comparados com o período 2. Encontrou-se um total de cinco espécies de endoparasitas, sendo três por período. Apesar da riqueza ter sido igual, a composição de endoparasitas diferiu entre os períodos, pois apenas uma espécie de digenético (Microrchis oligovitellum) parasitou o hospedeiro nos dois períodos de estudo. Constatou-se que tanto o desenvolvimento do peixe quanto seus endoparasitas foram afetados ao longo do tempo. Destaca-se que o início do funcionamento da barragem de Porto Primavera, localizada à montante da planície, ocorreu entre os dois períodos de amostragem (1999), e provocou diversas alterações ambientais, sendo, possivelmente, a principal responsável por essas mudanças da parasitofauna. A maioria dos endoparasitas requer hospedeiros intermediários para completar seus ciclos de vida. Portanto, um ambiente modificado, pode perder diversidade e interações ecológicas, visto que afeta as populações que eles utilizam durante o processo de transmissão entre hospedeiros. Isso pode explicar a diferença encontrada nas infracomunidades de parasitas de T. galeatus, enfatizando, por meio dos resultados obtidos, a importância de incluir esses organismos nos estudos que avaliam impactos ambientais causados por ações antrópicas.Master

    The stage of obtaining high-quality gonads was explored in the course of development of the biotechnology for artificial reproduction of the anadromous Azov-Black Sea shemaya Alburnus leobergi (Freyhof & Kottelat, 2007), a valuable species of the Azov Sea ichthyofauna. This research is aimed at the assessment of the maturity status of shemaya females and males after their wintering in the ponds of a fish farm on the Lower Don at a thermal constant of 849 degree days (DD) and at the evaluation of the reproductive parameters of shemaya females exposed to different doses of the pituitary extract. In all literary sources available, the information on this topic has been scarce and fragmentary, and in the foreign sources, it was entirely absent. Our investigation has shown that the gonads of 55 % of males were at 5th and 5th–6th stages of maturity. At the same time, females significantly differed by the degree of gonad maturity: 26.0 % of females had first-generation eggs at different stages of resorption, the sexual products of 15.8 % of females were at the 5th stage of maturity, and 58.2 % of females had immature sexual products at the 3rd–4th and 4th stages of maturity. The investigation of the effect of two doses (6.0 and 9.0 mg/kg) of the pituitary gland extract with application of the fractional method showed that 15.0 % and 16.7 % of injected shemaya females with the most mature eggs responded to the preliminary dose of the pituitary extract by ovulation of physiologically sound eggs (0.6 and 0.9 mg/kg, respectively). 20.0 % and 6.7 % of females responded to the provoking dose of pituitary hormone by ovulating physiologically high-quality eggs in accordance with the concentration applied. The fertilization rate of physiologically sound eggs in both scenarios had similar values (97.4 and 97.9 %). Since the thermal constant of 849 DD is excessive for the start of artificial reproduction of the Azov-Black Sea shemaya, it is necessary to conduct research in order to identify the thermal constant precluding the loss of the first-generation eggs caused by the incipient processes of resorption.При разработке биотехники искусственного воспроизводства проходной черноморско-азовской шемаи Alburnus leobergi (Freyhof & Kottelat, 2007) — ценного вида азовской ихтиофауны — изучали этап получения качественных половых продуктов. Цель исследований — оценить состояние зрелости самок и самцов шемаи после зимнего выдерживания в зимовальных прудах рыбоводного хозяйства на Нижнем Дону при сумме тепла 849 градусо-дней (ГД) и репродуктивные показатели самок шемаи при воздействии разных доз гипофиза. Во всех доступных литературных источниках информация по данной теме была немногочисленной и фрагментарной; в зарубежных источниках ее не обнаружено вовсе. Исследования показали, что 55 % самцов имели половые продукты V и V– VI стадий зрелости. Самки в этот период значительно различались по степени зрелости половых продуктов: 26,0 % самок имели икру первой генерации в разных фазах резорбции, 15,8 % самок — половые продукты V стадии зрелости, 58,2 % самок — незрелые половые продукты III–IV и IV стадий зрелости. Исследование влияния двух доз гипофиза (6,0 и 9,0 мг/кг) дробным методом показало, что 15,0 и 16,7 % инъецированных самок шемаи с наиболее зрелой икрой ответили на предварительную дозу гипофиза овуляцией физиологически качественной икры (0,6 и 0,9 мг/кг, соответственно). На разрешающую дозу гормона гипофиза 20,0 и 6,7 % самок ответили овуляцией физиологически качественной икры соответственно примененным дозам. Степень оплодотворения физиологически качественной икры в обоих вариантах имела близкие значения (97,4 и 97,9 %). Поскольку сумма тепла 849 ГД является избыточной для начала воспроизводственных работ с черноморско-азовской шемаей, необходимо провести исследования для выявления уровня суммы тепла, который позволит избежать потерь икры первой генерации в результате начинающихся процессов резорбции.PublishedReferee

    Six years after the First International Conference on “Water, Megacities and Global Change”, held on the occasion of the 21st United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 21), which drew attention to the significant challenges megacities are facing, and proposed the creation of the Megacities Alliance on Water and Climate (MAWAC), UNESCO’s Division of Water Sciences and ARCEAU-IdF1 decided to join forces once again to co-organize the Second International Conference on Water, Megacities and Global Change (EauMega) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France and online on a dedicated platform for the conference, on 11-14 January 2022. Organized in close collaboration with the Greater Paris Metropolis and the Greater Paris Sanitation Authority (SIAAP), and with the support of many other public and private partners, this conference builds on the results of the online Pre-Conference on Water, Megacities and Global Change, which took place in December 2020. The Pre-Conference event, which brought together more than 6,000 participants, helped the organizers identify the issues requiring further consideration during the Second International Conference on Water, Megacities and Global Change by selected scientists, water operators, decision-makers, representatives of basin authorities and civil society at large. Given their size, the challenges posed to Megacities by water management within the context of climate change are of particular importance. Indeed, they raise new and specific issues that require close collaboration between scientists who advance knowledge, operators and basin authorities (public and private) who innovate technically and socio-politically, and local decision-makers who can support new, just and more efficient models of water governance, while remaining in constant interaction with civil society. Following a Call for Papers launched in late 2019, this publication is a compilation of the best scientific articles selected and peer-reviewed by the 87 international experts responsible for designing the scientific programme of the conference. Reflecting the structure of the conference with its 12 thematic sessions, the Proceedings present all the peer-reviewed articles in the following thematic chapters: • Disaster Risk Reduction; • Sustainable Development Goals & Service continuity; • Knowledge of the technical and social conditions; • Governance modalities in megacities; • Holistic water management; • Land issues and challenges; • Planning tools. • Technical and technological solutions; • Innovative initiatives at governance, technical, institutional or social level; • New water culture; • Strengthening of sustainable solidarity; The publication not only provides a state of the art on the challenges that Megacities are facing in their management of water and of the new global changes they encounter, but also presents the latest innovative and multi-disciplinary solutions being used to overcome these challenges and ensure optimal and sustainable resource management. By compiling a collection of experiences and best practices at global level, integrating the following three aspects – megacities, water and global change including climate change – it is our hope that this publication will represent a source of inspiration for other Megacities and large urban centers to overcome similar challenges and strengthen their climate resilience. By promoting fruitful exchanges and synergies among megacities, research institutions, the private sector and civil society at large, as well as inspiring further joint research studies on climate change and water-security related issues, the conference represents without doubt a fundamental building block of the Megacities Alliance on Water and Climate (MAWAC).     Se realizó una revisión exhaustiva acerca del Pez León (Pterois volitans/miles) con base en la bibliografía científi ca disponible, donde se mencionan características como su reproducción, comportamiento, el hábitat donde normalmente tienden a adaptarse, el tipo de alimentación, así como los posibles depredadores de esta especie, de igual forma algunas estrategias donde organizaciones buscan que la coordinación, prevención, detección temprana, respuesta rápida, control, investigación, comunicación y educación sean las herramientas que se prioricen para llevar a cabo las acciones necesarias para lograr cada uno de los objetivos en cuanto al control de esta especie. Además de mencionar investigaciones relevantes, obtenidas de esta misma relacionadas con la parasitología presente en este, así como los benefi cios obtenidos de las toxinas que este espécimen genera.An exhaustive review of the Lionfi sh (Pterois volitans/miles) was carried out based on the available scientifi c literature, where characteristics such as its reproduction, behavior, the habitat where it normally tends to adapt, the type of feeding, as well as the possible predators of this species are mentioned, as well as some strategies where organizations seek that coordination, prevention, early detection, rapid response, control, research, communication and education are the tools that are prioritized to carry out the necessary actions to achieve each of the objectives in terms of the control of this species.
