Occupations and Education in X Data: How representative is the data?
Valuable insights can be gained regarding jobs and professions across various sectors of society based on their inherent and acquired traits. Previous studies relied on methods such as action research, surveys, and questionnaires that are time-consuming and resource-intensive. This study examines vocational education and training data on Twitter. Although the data has been utilized in multiple studies, we will examine a vital research inquiry within computational social science: Is it plausible to employ Twitter/X data for analyzing vocational education and training in Germany or does the data display excessive bias? This investigation is infrequently explored since most researchers endeavor to discover representative samplings of larger subsets, and gauging representativeness against a ground truth can prove challenging. However, we will demonstrate that with research inquiry and statistical data, it is feasible to calculate a representative distance , correction factors , and an overall bias . This provides a unique technique towards labor market research that makes novel data interoperable, which has not been considered in previous literature. Our approach is versatile and can be readily extended to other dat
Towards Hands-on Practice and Helpful Feedback in a Non-STEM Module on Web Technologies
Recent developments in ICT require every student to have sound knowledge and skills in the structured description and processing of data, rooted at least in basic computational thinking. The teaching of web technologies and web development skills is an appropriate foundation for this. To be effective and efficient, it should provide plenty of practice in accessing relevant technologies without much background knowledge. As part of a project to develop comprehensive courses and exams at TU Ilmenau, the open source auto-grading system CodeOcean is being used for this very purpose. It provides a complete web-based execution and development environment with logging, support and collaboration features for self-directed and competency-based learning, while allowing automatic evaluation of submitted solutions and generation of helpful feedback. The paper reports on experiences with the implementation of hands-on practice and automated feedback using end-to-end testing in CodeOcean aiming at a holistic understanding of the technologies relevant for the development of web-based communication services (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, XML). The general approach of developing and implementing tasks according to the principle of test-driven software development and deriving specific, helpful feedback is presented. Key findings from the first productive deployment, challenges and solutions for the integration of further tasks are discussed, and future steps for improving the feedback using generative AI are outlined
Validating Autonomy in the Era of Software-Defined Robotaxis
The validation of artificial intelligence (AI) for autonomous systems, particularly for SAE Level 4 robotaxis, has undergone a fundamental paradigm shift. Legacy automotive verification and validation (V&V) methodologies, predicated on physical prototypes and predictable, hardware-defined functions,
are fundamentally incompatible with the dynamic, non-deterministic nature of AI-driven software. This paper posits that the automotive industry has transitioned to a new validation playbook, one built upon four foundational pillars: the collection and processing of massive-scale datasets, the deployment of scalable compute architectures from the data center to the vehicle, the leveraging of parallel processing frameworks like CUDA to power AI model training, and the extensive use of high-fidelity simulation as a virtual
proving ground. Through a comparative analysis of industry leaders — including the comprehensive safety and simulation ecosystem of NVIDIA, the fleet-data-driven approach of Tesla, the safety-centric strategies like Waymo, and the pragmatic certification paths of traditional OEMs like Mercedes-Benz — this paper dissects the competing philosophies shaping this new era. The analysis reveals that the future of autonomous vehicle validation lies not in a choice between real-world and synthetic data, but in a symbiotic, closed-loop integration of both. It concludes that simulators enriched with AI-powered world models and synthetic data generators are the critical enablers for achieving scalable, safe, and globally deployable autonomy. This technological transformation carries profound strategic implications, reshaping not only the future of transportation but also the landscape of national and economic resilience

Reasoning over Student Study Plans with Answer Set Programming
University study regulations are legal documents which, among other things, specify requirements in terms of modules, courses or examinations needed by students to earn a degree. These requirements if fulfilled can lead to many study plans which equally lead to graduation. However, students are not interested in any study plan, but ones with certain characteristics which relate to practical questions and requests. This work presents a study regulations modelled in SemaLogic and results on how some study regulations-related questions and requests, retrieved from interviews, can be answered by our combinatorial solving tool - Answer Set Programming Study Regulations API service - using a combination of defined hard and soft constraints
