    A Study on Secure Outsourcing of Large Scale Computations to Cloud

Based on a pay-per-use model, a client without enough computational power can easily outsource large scale computational tasks to a cloud. But this relaxation also brings some anxious like as data confidentiality, storage overhead and trustworthiness of cloud and so on. To relief from these threats, a perfect cloud outsourcing protocol is needed. A cloud outsourcing system is perfect if it can minimize the client’s overhead as well as it has trust. So, the problem is how a client can send his overload task to cloud by privacy preserving and verifiable way. Since mathematical computations always have contribution on various scientific and engineering tasks, we are motivated to design a secure, efficient and verifiable cloud outsourcing protocol for some large-scale mathematical computations such as lyapunov equation, linear regression. Lyapunov equation needs for stability analysis. It is applied to the power system analysis also. To solve it by cloud, we use affine transformation that actually transfers the problem linearly. These transformation computes in a such way that from transferred result original result can be found. Linear regression is studied for with constrained and without constrained. Unconstrained linear regression that is studied here in two ways. First of all, it is studied by hiding its dimension and then transferred the problem by random permutation. Because of increasing dimension, efficiency of this method is decreasing but increased security. It is the trade off between efficiency and security. Second, for transforming it, we use the idea of chaotic map and frobenius matrix. Chaotic map is one of the most used random number generation algorithms and it has some advantages using frobenius matrix over diagonal matrix. At last, constrained linear regression outsourcing is done by affine mapping like as lyapunov equation. Actually, We proposed protocols for outsourcing these problems and studied these protocols in a privacy preserving, efficient and verifiable way. Real cloud is also invoked and a comparison between real and simulation cloud is also showed.     Similarity Solution of Unsteady Convective Heat and Mass Transfer Flow along an Isothermal Vertical Plate with Suction

The similarity equations of the specified problem are obtained first by employing the usual similarity technique and Bousinesq approximation. Then the set of transformed ordinary differential equations has been solved numerically adopting the 6th order Range-Kutta method and to enumerate the unspecified initial conditions shooting method has been adopted. The non-dimensional solutions regarding the velocity, temperature and mass concentration have been found for different selected values of the established dimensionless numbers and parameters entering into the problem. The effect of suction on fluid flow and temperature fields as well as concentration distributions and other topics of interest like skin friction and heat transfer coefficients are extensively investigated. It is observed that the velocity at any point within the boundary layer increases with the increase of suction parameter (Fw). But both temperature and mass concentration decrease rapidly with the increasing values of Fw. The effects of some other involved dimensionless numbers and parameters like Prandtl number (Pr), local concentration Grashof number (Gc) and unsteadiness parameters (A1, A2, A3) on the velocity and temperature fields and on the concentration distributions have been investigated. The results show that fluid velocity decreases slowly but temperature decreases significantly with the increase of Pr whereas no appreciable change is found on concentration for increasing values of Pr. It is also found that velocity increases highly with the increase of Gc while the impact of Gc on the temperature and concentration are very diminutive. All the unsteadiness parameters also apparently affect the velocity, temperature and concentration distributions. The obtained numerical results involving the effects of these non-dimensional numbers and parameters on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are displayed with the help of various graphs. Finally, the dependency of wall shear stress (in terms of local Skin-friction coefficients) and wall heat flux (in terms of Nusselt number), which are of physical interests, on the concerned non-dimensional parameters and numbers are also illustrated and discussed through the tables. Many proteins play different roles depending on the environment of the organism for the functioning of a cell. Usually, most conventional methods are not able to analyze the functions of the genes biologically. In this thesis, we propose a gene ontology (GO) annotation based semi-supervised clustering algorithm called GO Fuzzy relational clustering (GO-FRC). In GO-FRC, one gene is allowed to be assigned to multiple clusters, and that is biologically relevant to the behavior of gene. In the clustering process, GO-FRC utilizes the useful biological knowledge, which is available in the form of a Gene Ontology, as a prior knowledge along with the gene expression data. The prior knowledge helps to improve the coherence of the groups concerning the knowledge field. The proposed GO-FRC has been tested on the two yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) expression profiles datasets (Eisen and Dream 5 yeast datasets) and has compared with other state-of-the-art clustering algorithms.     Detection of Angina Pectoris Using ECG Signals

Sometimes from a long ECG data it is tiresome to calculate and differentiate the normal and angina pectoris affected ECG peak to decide about the condition of the patient. In addition, the remote areas of lower and midlower income countries often face lack of experienced doctors or highly cost devices like ecocardiogram, MRI to detect angina. In these regions, automatic identification of ECG features can be a fruitful solution. Therefore, only way is computerized and efficient ECG analyzing algorithm development that can be able to detect angina pectoris. In this work, an efficient algorithm is developed to detect angina pectoris from ECG signal. This algorithm consists of several steps to take decision on ECG signal. First of all this algorithm removes baseline wandering from ECG signal by baseline wandering path finding algorithm. After that it removes other noises from ECG signal by Gaussian weighted moving average window method. In this consequence, QRS complex was detected by very well-known method First and Second Derivative (FS2) algorithm and gradually other important points like S, J, K, and T were detected by possible range maxima-minima criterion. Besides, the isoelectric line of ECG signal is estimated and eventually the statistical features of J-K points of normal and abnormal ECG peaks are compared with that isoelectric line by the algorithm, Finally, this algorithm takes the decision whether the patient is suffering from angina or not. This algorithm is applied on MIT arrhythmia Database to detect angina pectoris. From the result provided by this algorithm, we have found 94% (average) accuracy which is noticeable. In addition with that the sensitivity and specificity of our proposed algorithm have also been calculated which are found 91% and 89%, respectively. Since the previous work is based on the single feature, it may prove inappropriate for all the time. Therefore with the help of multiple features machine learning based approach k-nearest neighbor (kNN) method has been deployed in this research work to make it more accurate and acceptable. Although kNN based prediction method also provide almost similar results found by the previous methodologies. Therefore our proposed approach for angina pectoris detection has been testified by both statistical and kNN based method.     Mechanical and Microscopic Investigation of Concrete Incorporating Ceramic Waste Powder as Partial Replacement of Binding Material

The ceramic industry generates large amounts of pozzolanic clay wastes every year in Bangladesh and worldwide. So far massive parts of ceramic wastes (CW) are directly dumped into the landfills. Reusing the ceramic wastes in concrete would be the sustainable solution. Also, it leads to avoid the environmental problems related to landfill wastes. Generally, two types of ceramic wastes are found in the ceramic industry such as white and red ceramic waste. This study investigates the mechanical properties and microscopy of concrete incorporating the ceramic waste powder as partial replacement of cement. In this research work, chemical composition by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis, compressive strength test, splitting tensile strength test, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis were conducted on cement and partially replaced ceramic waste powder (CWP) concrete. The partial replacement proportions of cement by CWP were 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%. Ceramic wastes powders have been made by ball machine to conduct XRF analysis, mechanical and microscopic investigation. Total 195 cylinders have been made to perform mechanical properties in this research, where 117 cylinders were used for compressive strength test and 78 cylinders were used for splitting tensile strength test. Specific samples have been prepared to conduct microscopic investigation i.e. XRD and SEM analysis. The XRF analysis illustrated that the SiO2 and Al2O3 exist in ceramic powder (both red and white) which is almost twice that of cement. The XRF analysis of red and white ceramic powder provided satisfactory results compared to ASTM specification of Portland cement, fly ash, slags and control cement. Analyzing and illustrating the compressive strength test and splitting tensile strength test results, the CWP concrete provides satisfactory mechanical properties. The most favourable proportion in concrete for red and white ceramic waste powder were found 20% and 15% of partial replacement of cement respectively. The partially replaced CWP concrete presented satisfactory results up to most favourable mix proportions considering modulus of elasticity, stress-strain diagram and Poisson’s ratio of cement concrete, although, the modulus of elasticity calculated by ACI and ASTM methods have minor variations. The alite and tobermorite is the most dominating compound found in the XRD analysis of CWP concrete samples. Based on the XRD investigation, it was revealed that the intensity of alite and tobermorite of CWP concrete is greater than control specimen. From the SEM analysis, it was observed that with the increase of curing ages the alite was hydrated, tobermorite developed and jointly formed a continuous matrix. The density of the surface morphology was very denser of red and white CWP concrete than cement concrete samples. The red CWP concrete specimens were denser and compact having lesser microcracks than cement and white CWP concrete. Therefore, this study revealed that the ceramic waste powder (CWP) provides better performance and hence, it can be used in concrete as partial replacement of binder (cement) up to certain proportion. Also, reusing the ceramic wastes in concrete industry would be the win-win solution considering the costs of cement production and environmental related problems.Md.     Development of Aspartic Acid Modified Waste Battery Electrode for Simultaneous Determination of Vitamin C, Paracetamol and Caffeine

Paracetamol (PA) and Caffeine (CA) are important analgesic and antipyretic agents. The fixed combination of VC, PA and CA is widely used for the treatment of common diseases such as headache, cold, fever, muscle aches, arthritis, toothaches etc. A modified waste battery (WB) electrode sensor has been developed using Aspartic acid (APA) as a trifunctional electrochemical sensor for simultaneous detection of VC, PA and CA. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and UV-Vis spectroscopy were used as detection techniques. In this study, battery electrode and pencil graphite (PG) electrode were prepared from waste battery and pencil respectively. Then waste battery (WB), pencil graphite (PG), glassy carbon (GC), gold (Au) and platinum (Pt) electrodes were used as the working electrodes for the determination of VC, PA and CA. These electrodes were modified with APA by applying continuous potential cycle for 15 scans at a range of -0.3 to 1.8 V at 100 mVs-1. A ternary solution of VC, PA and CA was prepared and the CV and DPV were taken at the modified (WB, PG, GC, Au and Pt) electrodes. It is observed that the performances of modified WB and GC electrodes are better than that of the modified PG, Au, Pt electrodes. But the GC electrode is more costly than WB electrode. The influence of pH has been studied by varying pH from 3 to 9. The detection was mostly favorable at pH 7. The effect of different scan rates has been discussed and the variation of peak current was plotted with the square root of scan rate. The peak current increases with the increase of square root of scan rates. The nearly proportionality of the peak current suggests that the peak current of the reactant at each redox reaction is controlled by diffusion process with some chemical complications. The effects of bare and modified WB electrode on single, binary and ternary solution of VC, PA and CA have been studied carefully. CVs of the single solution of VC, PA and CA at bare WB electrode show the oxidation peaks at 0.27V, 0.51V and 1.44V respectively. But at modified WB electrode, they exhibit the oxidation peaks at 0.18V, 0.42V and 1.40V. At bare WB electrode, the ternary mixture of VC, PA and CA reveal two oxidation peaks at 0.49V and 1.44V. But the APA modified WB electrode shows three separated and well defined oxidation peaks at 0.18V, 0.42V and 1.40V. The peak intensity of APA modified electrode was higher than that of the bare WB electrode. Similar behavior has been observed in the DPV technique. Quantitative analysis of VC, PA and CA has been carried out by DPV using APA modified WB electrode in a single, binary and ternary solution. In every cases, the peak currents of VC, PA and CA increased linearly with the increasing of their concentrations over the range of 1.0 mM to 5.0 mM. The APA modified WB electrode showed good selectivity as well as strong anti-interference activity for the determination of VC, PA and CA in binary and ternary mixture with excellent result. The limit of detection (LoD) has been calculated by signal-to-noise (S/N=3) ratio. In simultaneous detection, the LoDs for VC, PA and CA are 0.20 μmol L-1, 0.16 μmol L-1 and 0.33 μmol L-1 respectively at APA modified WB electrode. The sensitivities of VC, PA and CA are 54.4 μA/mM/cm2, 99.9 μA/mM/cm2 and 151.7 μA/mM/cm2 respectively at APA modified WB electrode. APA modified WB electrode has been successfully used for the quantitative determination of VC, PA and CA in some commercial tablets of different pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh. The results have been valided by UV-Vis spectroscopic method. The amount of VC, PA and CA in some well-established pharmaceutical (Square, ACI, Beximco, Glaxopharma, ACME, Opsonin, Aristopharma, Incepta etc) tablet samples have been found approximately same compared to the labeled value. But in some pharmaceutical companies (IBN Sina, Kemico, Shubatech, Novelta, Eskayef etc), the amount of VC, PA and CA have been found less compared to the labeled value in the tablets.Md.     A Weighted Least Cost Matrix Approach in Transportation Problem

Mainly in the business arena, it is common to encounter the problem of transportation of some products/goods from source/origin to sink/destination so that cost of transportation is minimal and also satisfy the constraints related to demand and the supply. A huge number of physical problems are modeled as Transportation problem (TP) which includes inventory problem, assignment problem, traffic problem and so on. TPs are required for analyzing and formulating such models. In order to minimize the transportation cost satisfying all constraint, transportation model first provides the Initial Basic Feasible Solution (IBFS) and then IBFS be optimized by some related optimization algorithm if IBFS is not optimized. So the primary objective of transportation model is to find out a good IBFS of TPs. In classical transportation approaches, the flow of allocation is controlled by the cost entries such as West Corner Method (WCM), Least Cost Method (LCM) etc. and/or manipulation of cost entries, so called Distribution Indicator (DI) or Total Opportunity Cost (TOC) like Vogel’s Approximation Method (VAM) and its variations. In LCM, the flow of allocation is directly controlled by the cost entries i.e. lowest cost prefers first. On the other hand, for examples, on VAM, its variants and some other methods, the flow of allocations is controlled by the DI or TOC tables. But these DI or TOC tables are formulated by the manipulation of cost entries only. None of them considers demand and/or supply entry to formulate the DI/ TOC table. In this thesis, we have first developed a new procedure of control of allocation named Weighted Opportunity Cost (WOC) matrix by incorporating supply/demand entries. At first, weight factors are formulated by using demand and supply entries which is off-course statistically valid. Then virtual weighted cost entries are formulated by manipulation of cost entries along with weight factors. Finally WOC matrix is formulated in which supply/demand entries acts as weight factor upon corresponding cost entries. Several examples are provided to demonstrate the concept of WOC matrix. After successfully development of WOC, our intension is go upon the development of an algorithm to find out IBFS of TPs. It is known that, in Least Cost Matrix method, the flows of allocations are controlled by the cost entries only. The flows of allocations are predefined according to the cost entries i.e the ascending order of cell cost and the whenever identical costs are encountered whatever be the structure of demand/supply entries. So, the algorithm does not need to update allocation direction in subsequent steps. On the other hand in VAM, the flow of allocation is controlled by the DI table rather than directly cost matrix. By incorporating these two ideas, we have proposed a Weighted Opportunity Cost based on LCM (WOC-LCM) approach. In this proposed approach, the flow of allocation is controlled by the WOC matrix rather than cost matrix as in LCM approach. But WOC matrix is invariant through all over the allocation procedures like cost matrix in LCM method whereas DI table is updated after each step of allocations. Some experiments have been carried out to justify the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed WOC-LCM approach. Experimental results have shown that the WOC-LCM approach outperforms LCM.
