Photograph of Alexander Mable's eight daughters: Irene and Ruth Ann (back row), Adelaine, Athlene, Ethlene, and Jessie (middle row), Pheriby and Lucy (front row). Twins Ethlene and Athlene both became teachers and taught at the Mable School. Their father, Alexander Mable (1847-1936), was the fifth son of Robert and Pheriby Aycock Mable. Interview with Jessica Duvall, March 22, 2022
Jessica Duvall attended Kennesaw State University. She served as the inaugural full-time staff member of the LGBTQ Resource Center. In 2019 her role within Cultural and Community Centers transitioned to Assistant Director of Assessment, where she now works, alongside being a part-time instructor for American Studies. In this interview Duvall discusses her time as a student at KSU, namely her involvement in KPA (Kennesaw Pride Alliance), her role in submitting a proposal for a professionally staffed GLBTIQ resource center to the Chief Diversity Officer, where she later worked as the program coordinator. Marc Huppert Interview, August 22, 2022
Born in New York City in 1955, Marc Huppert is the son of a Polish Jewish Holocaust survivor and an American Jewish woman. Marc’s father, Josef, was born in Zigeunerwald on May 31, 1915. When Germany invaded Poland, he fled to Lvov, which was under Soviet control. Once the Nazis took over Lvov, he survived the war by becoming involved with partisan groups and working for a Soviet general. After the war, he immigrated to the United States with help from his brother, Arthur, and the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS). A program for the 13th Annual Spring Bathtub Race held on May 20, 1979. The program contains a letter from the President of the Bathtub Racing Association, an article titled Tradition by Patti Futrell on the tradition of the races, gifting of the Larry G.
