er, Republican candidate for 
lieutenant governor, said Wed-
nesday if the attitude of violence 
in the black community is left 
unchecked there will be ' ~race 
wars dwarfing anything we have 
experienced to date.· · 
Fletcher called on church 
members to help stem the trend 
toward violence and · establish 
· an environment in which nonvio-
lence would prevail. 
He said the church is a .. tre-
mendous untapped resource" 
and that its retired business ex-
ecutives could help ghetto-based 
business projects. Tbe same is

station on Channel 4 will have 
the opportunity to view a politi-
cal progr~m tonight at 8 o'clock. 
Incumbent Lt. Governor John 
Cherberg and Republican chal-
lenger Art Fletcher will explain 
· their positions on a variety of 
topics. The hour-long program 
will also examine the back-
ground and political experience 
of each candidate. 
This is the second of five pro-
grams dealing with state-wide 
political races. In succeeding 
weeks the programs will deal 
with the Attorney General, U.S. 
overnor

More details on the strike over the employment of Jesse Oliver on the Veterans Stadium project in Philly. He's the father of five, and, ironically, a veteran. This appears to be a dispute over control of hiring; the union is retaliating against the contractor, Westinghouse Corporation Elevator Division, for not hiring its men, by refusing to issue a permit for Oliver. In the meantime, pending a DOL resolution under the RPP, Westinghouse has hired Oliver as an office worker
