Riesel column on Art Fletcher. Depicts how the former end is now tackling the labor unions. Calls him "one of Mr. Nixon's favorite dinner guests be it in the State Dining Room or the East Room (and I've encountered him on the second floor at some gatherings)." Intimates that AF will be tackling discriminatory labor contracts and seniority lists in beer brewing after construction. Riesel also quotes Meany as complaining that AF is trying to make "instant qualification" for Blacks, and that only apprenticeship can lead to union membership. Of course this is disingenuous because of the problems Blacks encounter getting admitted into apprenticeship programs. Meany also calls Fletcher a permanent civil rights leader, which he thinks isn't a compliment
