Study Regarding The Beef Meat Production Evolution Worldwide And National Level
The global beef industry has been growing steadily in recent years due to the fact that the largest beef exporters and importers in beef producing countries continue to invest financially in the global market. Beef, one of the most important products in the world livestock market, is often recognized as a premium source of protein in the human diet, therefore it is widely consumed in most countries around the world. In 2020, at the national level, the number of cattle slaughtered in industrial units (slaughterhouses) decreased by 15.6% compared to the previous year. Also, the beef production decreased from 196,000 tons in 2017 to 173,000 tons in 2020, even though the slaughter yield has increased. There are about 1 billion beef cattle worldwide, and compared to poultry and pigs, beef cattle have the lowest feed-to-meat conversion efficiency. Strategies to improve beef cattle performance emphasize operational and reproductive management, host genetics, functional efficiency of the rumen and respiratory microbiome, and forage structure and composition. There have also to consider the herd health and immunity and the need for beef cattle to thrive in a changing environment
Morphoclinical and paraclinical features of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)
The study aims to identify the
morphoclinical and paraclinical elements
useful in the diagnosis of FIP, given that the
symptoms are sometimes uncharacteristic,
varied and often similar to those of other
diseases. The morphoclinical features of 32
patients diagnosed with FIP were evaluated.
In 26 patients (81.25%), the predominant
symptomatology was similar: intermittent
fever, loss of appetite, weakness, dyspnoea
and physical signs of peritoneal fluid
collection. The peritoneal puncture fluid was
inflammatory, with numerous large
phagocytes (neutrophils and macrophages),
lymphocytes and, in some cases, red blood
cells. The cell blood count (CBC) showed
the existence of normocytic, hypochromic
and hypoplastic anaemia and the presence of
an active systemic inflammatory process,
confirmed by the presence of aggregated
platelets and segmented and vacuolated
neutrophils in the stained smear May
Grunwald Giemsa (MGG). Biochemical
blood examination revealed the evolution of
a physiopathological syndrome of
hepatocytolysis, increased tissue catabolism
and haemolytic anaemia. These results
confirm that FIP is usually a systemic
disease with polymorphic clinical signs, and
biochemical blood tests, unlike CBC, have
more prognostic value and lower value for
suspecting the disease. However, sometimes,
lesions and associated clinical signs in a
single organ predominate. Thus, in three
patients (9.37%), the predominant
symptomatology was hepato-digestive with
hepatocellular jaundice; one patient had
obvious clinical signs of renal failure, one
had signs of cortical syndrome, and one
patient showed periosteal lesions
(granulomatous osteitis). These results
indicate that some less common lesions in
cats, such as osteitis granulomatous, should
be included in the list of FIP lesions
Study regarding effect of Triss-based and caniplus extenders on several sperm parameters in medium-large breed of dogs
The study was carried out in different breeds of dogs owned by breeders in the city of Cluj Napoca. Mostly
medium-large breeds were used and all the participating animals have been in good health during the time of acquiring
the samples. The purpose of the study was to make a comparison between our own Tris-based extender and the
commercial extender CANIPLUS CHILL in accordance with semen parameters with particular regards to motility,
progressive motility, and length of survival of the spermatozoa. The evaluation has been done using the Computer
Aided Sperm Analysis (CASA) system at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca.
We have found that in medium large size breeds the commercia CaniPlus extender have shown better results on
the majority of the parameters over the Tris-based extender and has the ability to preserve the integrity is spermatozoa
more efficiently over time compared to Tris extender. Furthermore we identified an improvement in all parameters
when comparing samples on the day of collection between large breed dogs and medium-large breed dogs in both
extender types.
Additionally, we had results shown increase values of most parameter in tris extender when comparing it with
CaniPlus extender in medium-large size breeds on the day of collection
Research on the Identification of Some Optimal Threshing and Separation Regimes in the Axial Flow Apparatus
Starting from the influencing parameters of threshing and separation and implicit seed losses that occur within this process, this paper searched for and identified the optimal threshing regimes to minimize losses depending on the process parameters. The evacuation losses (pev) depend on threshing rotor speed (n) and implicit rotor peripheral speed (vp), material feed speed (va), the space between the rotor and counter-rotor (δ), material feed flow (Q), material density (ρ), and the length of the threshing apparatus (L). As the parameters ρ and L are constant, the variation of losses in relation to each of the arguments was followed: vp, Q, ρ, and va, respectively, for the minimization of losses by the variation of the loss function by two arguments each (represented graphically); the four arguments targeted being: vp, va, ρ, and Q. Using these input parameters, it was possible to determine the optimal threshing regimes for the variation of losses in relation to the rotor peripheral speed, the feed flow, the space between the rotor and the counter-rotor, and the feed speed, so as to obtain a seed separation percentage (Ss) as close as possible to 100% (and implicitly the smallest threshing losses—towards zero) in relation to these parameters
Promoting the development of local markets with an exclusive focus on short supply chains in Suceava county
This research focuses on efforts to promote the development of local markets in Suceava County, with an exclusive
focus on the use of short supply chains. The main purpose of the research is to examine how this approach can influence
economic development and sustainability in the region. Through a detailed analysis, the paper explores how local
producers and consumers in Suceava County collaborate directly, eliminating intermediaries and reducing the distance
between producers and consumers. The benefits of this approach are examined, including increased income for
producers, the promotion of local products, and support for the local economy. Additionally, the paper examines the
challenges faced in successfully implementing short supply chains in the specific context of Suceava County, such as
infrastructure, regulations, and the education of both consumers and producers. The impact on community development
and sustainable growth is also analyzed, including aspects related to reducing the carbon footprint and promoting
sustainable agriculture. This research highlights the importance of promoting economic development and sustainability
through local markets and short supply chains in Suceava County. Through analysis and evaluation, the paper provides
significant insights for the ongoing development of these markets and for supporting local producers and agricultural
communities
Identification of arthropods by the MALDI TOF tehnique
MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry is a relatively new diagnostic technique that has revolutionised clinical microbiology
by accurately identifying species of bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeasts. Recently, new applications to identify
parasites and arthropods of medical interest have been developed, but few have developed MALDI-TOF analysis
protocols for characterizing arthropod species. Thus, there is a need for a standardization in terms of the anatomical
part(s) to be used according to arthropod families (head, thorax, legs) and the steps for protein extraction and
homogenization. In this study we created a bank of 47 specimens including the following species: Aedes caspius,
Anopheles hyrcanus, Anopheles maculipennis, Coquillettidia richiardii, Culiseta annulata, Culex pipiens. Thus, the aim
of this study was to compare the quality of spectra and of results in the identification between different anatomical parts
of mosquitoes, head, thorax (with wings) and legs, in order to optimize the use of the MALDI-TOF spectrometry tool.
We evaluated the bank using the "bank versus bank" test (database provided by the laboratory of parasitology and
mycology of Paris, Sorbonne University), each specimen had 4 deposits of protein extracts and the identification
threshold log(score) was set to 1.7. Identifications were confirmed by morphological identification keys. There were
differences in the protein profiles between each anatomical part. Leg spectra had the lowest number of high intensity
peaks compared to those of the head or thorax
Estimation of chlorophyll content and determination of chlorophyll fluorescence in bitter cucumber (momordica charantia l.) leaves under saline stress conditions
It has been scientifically proven that one of the physiological processes most affected by salt stress is photosynthesis. In this context, it is important to identify the main mechanisms involved in increasing plant tolerance to salt stress. The photosynthetic intensity is directly related to the productive capacity of plant species, thus increasing the tolerance of plants to saline stress is a priority. The chlorophyll content and chlorophyll fluorescence were studied in two varieties (Rodeo and Brâncuși) and three lines (Line 1, Line 3 and Line 4) of bitter cucumber (Momordica charantia), subjected to salt stress. Following the determinations, a higher concentration of chlorophyll was estimated in the control plants of the Brâncuși variety and Line 4, in contrast to the Rodeo variety, Line 3 and Line 1. In the case of this variety and the two lines, the plants treated with the highest concentration of saline solution prepared by using sodium chloride (NaCl) (200 mM) shows a higher concentration of total chlorophyll content. During the treatments, the fluorescence was higher in the treated plants compared to the control plants
The management of arthritic pain in dogs– a review
Osteoarthritis is a common condition in dogs, particularly affecting elderly individuals, and the chronic pain it causes
significantly impacts the quality of life of affected dogs. First, we will focus on the joint, the physiopathology of
osteoarthritis, and the mechanisms of arthritic pain production, and then discuss the existing treatments. There are
numerous treatments available for managing this complex osteoarticular condition, but unconventional therapies are
increasingly of interest to owners of canine species. Phytotherapy harnesses the healing properties of plants for
treatment in a less toxic, more natural, and more cost-effective manner, offering a wide range of therapeutic options for
animals. The objective of this review is to evaluate the present evidence backing treatments for canine osteoarthritis.
This includes non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, piprants, monoclonal antibodies, adjunctive analgesics, structuremodifying
osteoarthritis drugs, phytotherapy, and regenerative therapies
Aspects regarding determinants of consumer behavior of ecological products
Climate change, water and air pollution, global warming, the decline of fauna and flora, eutrophication, correlated with
the demands of the modern consumer, led to the formation of a new, much more complex approach regarding the sector
of ecological products and its main determinants. The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyze the factors that can
influence the decision to buy organic products by consumers. In addition, this study provides recommendations that can
be considered by consumers when increasing and reinforcing green behavior towards green products. The objectives of
the study aim to evaluate the influence of different types of variables (related to person, environment, product and
reference group) on the decision to purchase organic products. One of the concepts proposed in the management of
environmental problems by involving consumer participation is sustainable consumption. The recommendations are
hereby derived from the relevant academic research, theories and results of this research. Both purchasing and
consumption behavior can be influenced by certain information received from internal or external sources manifested in
the form of stimuli. Thus, the consumer becomes aware of the emergence of a need suggested by different internal
stimuli, such as: hunger or thirst, stimuli that, at a given moment, reach a high enough level to become impulses.
Knowing these ratios allows the anticipation of future market reactions, reactions that are difficult to predict without a
full understanding of the economic and psychological processes underlying consumer behavior
Effect of storage conditions on MDA levels of different class and type of dry dog food
The aim of this study was the determination of malondialdehyde (MDA) changes of 20 dry types of premium (P) and
economic class (E) commercial dog foods at different stocking temperatures (4 0C, 20 0C, 35 0C) and different
stocking times (3, 6, and 12months). At the time of purchase, MDA concentrations of premium dry type foods were
lower than those of economic class. The MDA concentrations of dog food increased with the progress of stocking times
at increasing temperatures. In the 10th month of stocking, the MDA levels was significantly higher, up to 6 times at a
temperature of 35 and a storage time of 10 months compared to the concentration at the time of purchase.

cooking and storage. Cellular proteins can react with MDA from the body and from ingested sources and the reaction
products are considered harmful
