Beatіng methоd samples were taken were the sudden shakіng оf twо branches wіth a length оf 30-50 cm frоm 10 trees. Each tіme samplіng was dоne іn fіve trees remaіned stable and marked dіstіnctіve sіgns the begіnnіng оf the seasоn and fіve randоm trees chоsen.     Boar freeze-dried semen in medium with antioxidants evaluated based on DNA integrity after a long-time preservation

    Sperm freeze-drying is considered an alternative method to preserve male gametes in refrigeration or at room temperature condition. In order to preserve sperm integrity special protection is required. The aim of our research was to examine the effect of vitamin C (0.5 mM ) and rosmarinic acid (105 μM) on the DNA spermatozoa integrity after freeze-drying and 36 months of preservation at refrigerator temperature. Our results indicates that more than 90% of DNA boar spermatozoa integrity is not affected by long-time preservation with small differences between experimental groups: with +0.59% higher DNA integrity in AR group from Duroc boar, with +2.83% higher DNA integrity in AR group from Landrace boar and with no differences regarding DNA integrity in group supplemented with vitamin C. The main conclusion of these preliminary results is that DNA integrity of boar freeze-dried semen is not affected by longtime preservation and it can be used further for intracytoplasmatic sperm injection technique

    The publications from Moldova, in XVII-XIX centuries, truly reflect the wine-growing micro zones around the rivers Siret, Prut, Raut, Nistru and Bug, with favorable ecoclimatic conditions for wineproduction. The North Pontus and the viticulture of the Geto-Dacians represent the old tradition of the Tyras settlements of the Thracian tribes. The wine trade expanded to Greece, Venice and Russia. The wines from monasteries with local varieties (e.g., Feteasca, Francusa, Galbena, Mustoasa, Coarna, Rara neagra, Grasa) stood out for their quality. Today, the National Office of Vine and Wine has unique requirements for PGI and DOC wines, which is an ambition to revive the famous names of the vineyard of anothertime(e.g., Ciumai, Cricova, Copciac, Purcari, Romanesti, Truseni), some already having a great number of medals in the international wine competitions.     Droughts can be considered the most complex climatic phenomena, because they trigger several factors, namely: atmospheric precipitation, soil water reserve accessible to the plant, humidity and air temperature, evapotranspiration, wind speed, etc., these being the main climatic parameters that define the state of dry or dry weather. This article provides a brief analysis of the statistical data with the most frequent droughts on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. From this point of view, drought risk management is a set of rigorously established and organized activities, which, starting from the existing conditions and objectives of the entity, analyze risk factors in a security concept, in order to minimize risks and costs. Only the precise knowledge of the circumstances, causes of occurrence and legitimacy of manifestation of these phenomena, called in the literature natural hazards or risk phenomena, allows the adoption of appropriate measures to mitigate the negative effects and reconstruction of affected regions. Of particular importance to society is the earliest and most accurate prediction of natural disasters. Drought is a prolongation of insufficient rainfall and is a natural feature of the climate. It can occur in any climatic zone, but its characteristics can vary from one region to another. The evaluations show that the deficit of atmospheric precipitations is practically specific for the whole territory of the republic. The deficit of precipitations and their very uneven distribution condition frequent and intensive droughts. The probability of very strong droughts (≤ 50% of the climatic norm of precipitation) with catastrophic consequences in some months of the vegetation period on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is 11 - 41%

    The surgical management of a diaphragmatic hernia in a cat – case report

    A diaphragmatic hernia is an internal hernia, characterized by a defect of the musculotendinous plate between the thoracic and abdominal cavities, which allows the abdominal content to protrude into the thoracic cavity. This case study emphasizes the importance of choosing the propitious time in the surgical repair and also the anaesthesia principles in diaphragmatic herniorrhaphy. A 2-year-old intact female cat was referred with the following symptoms: open-mouth breathing, tachypnea, tachycardia, pale mucous membranes and a dyspnoea increasing when changing position. The definitive diagnosis was confirmed through thoracic and abdominal radiography and the surgical procedure was performed after the patient’s condition was stable

    Castration of the rooster, also called claponage is an operative intervention that contributes to the quantitative and qualitative increase of the meat obtained. The capon is calmer, being concerned only with feeding, and the "crowing of the rooster" disappears because it no longer relates. The meat obtained is superior in terms of quantity and taste, as the slaughter of the capons is performed at an early age compared to the uncastrated ones. These beneficial aspects are reduced by the fact that the intracavitary topography of the testicles exposes to intraoperative accidents which, in most cases, are fatal. (8.3). Due to this fact, the study performed in this surgery aimed to identify the factors that contribute to the occurrence of hemorrhagic accident. In this sense, the hemorrhagic accident was correlated with the age of the rooster at the time of clapping and the operative access used. In the rooster, the testicles are in the abdominal cavity, just before the kidneys (6,10,9). They are oriented parallel to the ceiling of the cavity, at a distance of 0.5 - 1 cm from each other, with the anterior pole reaching the level of the last two ribs, and with the posterior one slightly exceed the costal wall (1, 9). The shape of the testicles is ovoid, resembling a bean, the left one being larger than the right one. Their color is yellowish white. The testicles are held in place by the testicular ligament (mesorchium). which is short and crossed by the spermatic artery and vein. Between the two testicular ligaments, under the spine, the aorta and the caudal vena cava have passed, vessels of vital importance having thin walls as they are protected by the testicles in this area. In roosters over six months of age, these vessels are so developed that damage to their integrity causes heavy bleeding. Due to this fact, the capping operation can be accompanied by the danger of a fatal hemorrhage (1, 2, 4, 7, 8)

    The pollen tube is essential for sexual reproduction of plants, as it ensures the delivery of male gametes cells into ovule.Edification of pollen tube by elongation of vegetative cell from pollen grain, growth rate of pollen tube, its response to orientation signals to ovule micropyle and to other extracellular factorsare fascinating aspects of pollen biology, which recommend pollen tube as a model for studying the behavior of plant cells.This study focuses on dynamics of in vitro growth of pollen tube of Hyacinthus orientalis on nutrient mediums with different carbohydrate compositions. 15% sucrose medium ensured growth of the longest pollen tubes exceeding 5000 μm just 24 hours after inoculation. Those pollen tubes increased at least another 96 hours, but at low rates, remaining viable.Pollen tubes grown on glucose mediums were significantly shorter, not exceeding 1080 μm.The length of pollen tube indicates its efficiency in fertilizing ovule

    Analysis in dynamics of tourism offer in Botoşani county during 2009-2018

    Analysis of absolute and relative dynamics of touristy accommodation capacity which exist in Botoşani County, during 2009-2018, shown the fact that number of accommodation places increased in 2018 face to 2009 with 51.64%. The highest increases face to reference year was recorded in 2017 with 56.58%; face to previous year was recorded increases up to 29.09% (in 2012). Per ensemble the mean level of existent accommodation capacity recorded a number of 1045.1 places, with an absolute mean increase of 45.33 places, respectively a relative increase of 4.6%. Analysis of absolute and relative dynamics of functional accommodation capacity revealed the fact that these one increased in 2018 face to 2009 with 60.21%; faces to previous year were recorded increases up to 19.88% (in 2011). Generally speaking mean level of functional accommodation capacity recorded 364.44 thousands places-days/year, with an absolute mean increase of 17.14 thousands places-days/year, respectively with a relative increase of 5.3%. Net utilization index of functional touristy accommodation capacity, in Botoşani County during 2009- 2018 recorded fluctuating values, the highest value, 22.7%, being recorded in 2017

    This paper presents some research on the cropping technology of the species Celosia argentea var. cristata variety ‘Filemon’. The researches were carried out in the cultural conditions in NE Romania, in the didactic collection of the Floriculture discipline within UASVM Iaşi. The experiments were organized in four variants in which three different doses of Cropmax® were applied (V2 - 0.05%; V3 - 0.10%; V4 - 0.15%) and a control variant (V1). Representative results were recorded for variant V3, both in terms of percentage of emergence and morphological characteristics of plants.     Dynamic of phenolic compounds, antioxidant activity, and yield of rhubarb under chemical, organic and biological fertilization

    In recent years, rhubarb is being increasingly cultivated, as it provides early yields when the vegetables supply to market is deficient and shows high levels of both polyphenols content and antioxidant capacity in edible parts. In 2017, we investigated crops of the rhubarb cultivar Victoria to the fifth year of production. Comparisons were performed between three root phase fertilizations—chemical (NPK 16-16-16®), organic (Orgevit®), and biological (Micoseeds MB®)—plus an unfertilized control. The determinations of polyphenols, the antioxidant capacity, and the yield indicators from the stalks (petioles) of rhubarb were made at each out of the 10 harvests carried out. The highest yield (59.16 t·ha−1) was recorded under the chemical fertilization. The total polyphenols content and antioxidant capacity varied widely from 533.86 mg GAE·g−1 d.w. and 136.86 mmol Trolox·g−1 d.w., respectively in the unfertilized control at the last harvest, up to 3966.56 mg GAE·g−1 d.w. and 1953.97 mmol Trolox·g−1 d.w. respectively under the organic fertilization at the four harvest. From the results of our investigation, it can be inferred that the chemical fertilization was the most effective in terms of yield, whereas the sustainable nutritional management based on organic fertilizer supply led to higher antioxidant compounds and activity
