The development of resilience in the general context of well-being in the academic environment
The paper addresses a current issue in the context of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, the one of developing the
transversal competence of psychological resilience in close correlation with the achievement of well-being by students
and professors. The objectives of the paper are: the conceptual clarifications of the psychological resilience and wellbeing;the presentation of the main theoretical contributions related to the psychological resilience; the directions of
educational action in order to develop resilience in the university environment. The pandemic determined by COVID19 - has made all the people of the planet- face problems they have never known. We insist on the negative implications
from a psychological point of view. The word "resilience" was not often used before 1984. In the 1980s, the
vulnerability concept dominated. Researchers first analyzed the study of vulnerability, fragility factors or vulnerability
in order to study suffering. The word "resilience" comes from Latin: resilire, resalire or resilio. It means taking a step
back, jumping, restarting, having a rebound. In the Middle Ages, the word "resilience" meant to free oneself, to release
oneself

Nutritional and antinutritional compounds in leaves of quinoa
In the context of climate change, especially for the temperate continental climate, new potential crop species are
emerging, originating from the tropics. One of them is quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) with multiple benefits
for seed and leaf production. Quinoa is native to South America, grown mainly for seeds, with a high ecological
plasticity. Little is known about the potential of using quinoa plants as a leafy vegetable for food diversification.
In this study, the nutritional and antinutritional content of quinoa leaves was evaluated in three cultivars
(Titicaca, Puno, Vikinga), considering different densities and times of sowing. Puno cultivar had a higher total
content of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and dietary fibers, and lower mineral contents in leaves. Low levels of
antinutrient compounds were found in Vikinga leaves. Regarding the time of the crop establishment, the highest
content of primary metabolic compounds (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, dietary fibers) was achieved by April
17, the sowing date. Crop densities of 7.7, 3.2, and 1.6 mil. plants/ha did not significantly influence the content
of compounds with antinutritive role, such as oxalates, saponins or trypsin inhibitors. The content of mineral
elements such as: Fe, Zn, Na and K were significantly influenced by the cultivar, compared to Mg and Ca whose
values were insignificant regardless of the treatment
The role of parasitic infections in the development of respiratory diseases in swine
Metastrongylidosis is a parasitosis caused by several species of nematodes of the genus Metastrongylus. The development
of parasites goes through transitional hosts - earthworms. Infection occurs when pigs eat infected worms so infections are
most commonly found in organic production and extensive breeding. The pathological effect of parasites begins with
their larvae migratory movement from the lung capillaries to the lung tissue, during migration through the lung tissue,
during the stay and activity of adults in the bronchi and aspiration of parasite eggs into bronchioles and alveoli. This is
followed by the toxic effect of metabolic products of the parasite, which after resorption in the blood can lead to general
intoxication. The predilection place of parasites is the posterior parts of the diaphragmatic lobe - margo acutus and margo
obtusus. Affected animals show signs of dyspnoea and frequent vesicular respiration. In addition to the direct pathological
action of metastrongylide, they transmit several diseases of pigs of bacterial and viral etiology. Two species of these
parasites, Metastrongylus elongatus and Metastrongylus pudendotectus, have been identified in Serbia. The prevalence
of both species varies from region to region. In the north of Serbia (Vojvodina), the presence of M. pudendotectus
dominates, while in central and southern Serbia, M. elongatus is much more common. In Serbia, in individual (semiextensive
and extensive) housing, infections are found in 34-52% of animals and in 1-3% of swine in farms
Dissection of quantitative blackleg resistance reveals novel variants of resistance gene Rlm9 in Elite Brassica napus
Blackleg is one of the major fungal diseases in oilseed rape/canola worldwide. Most
commercial cultivars carry R gene-mediated qualitative resistances that confer a high
level of race-specific protection against Leptosphaeria maculans, the causal fungus of
blackleg disease. However, monogenic resistances of this kind can potentially be rapidly
overcome by mutations in the pathogen’s avirulence genes. To counteract pathogen
adaptation in this evolutionary arms race, there is a tremendous demand for quantitative
background resistance to enhance durability and efficacy of blackleg resistance in
oilseed rape. In this study, we characterized genomic regions contributing to quantitative
L. maculans resistance by genome-wide association studies in a multiparental mapping
population derived from six parental elite varieties exhibiting quantitative resistance,
which were all crossed to one common susceptible parental elite variety. Resistance
was screened using a fungal isolate with no corresponding avirulence (AvrLm) to
major R genes present in the parents of the mapping population. Genome-wide
association studies revealed eight significantly associated quantitative trait loci (QTL)
on chromosomes A07 and A09, with small effects explaining 3–6% of the phenotypic
variance. Unexpectedly, the qualitative blackleg resistance gene Rlm9 was found to be
located within a resistance-associated haploblock on chromosome A07. Furthermore,
long-range sequence data spanning this haploblock revealed high levels of singlenucleotide
and structural variants within the Rlm9 coding sequence among the parents
of the mapping population. The results suggest that novel variants of Rlm9 could play a
previously unknown role in expression of quantitative disease resistance in oilseed rape
Effect of Saccharomyces cerevisiae feed supplementation on haematology and reproductive parameters for Algerian rabbits
This study aims at
investigating the effect of Saccharomyces
cerevisiae (SC) supplementation on
reproductive performance, haematological
parameters and fertility of rabbits under
Algerian conditions. The animals were
divided into three groups and received the
same feed ration during the experimental
period. The control group received a basal
diet without feed additives (Group#0) and
the two yeast SC groups received 0.3 and
0.6 g/day per head (Group#1 and Group#2,
respectively). Semen and blood samples
were collected for determination of semen
parameters and haematology. The weights
of rabbits treated with SC 0.3 g/day were
statistically significantly different (P<
0.05) from the control groups and group
treated with SC 0.6 g/day. There were
significant differences between the
treatment groups for (RBCs), haemoglobin
(HGB), haematocrit (HCT) and mean
corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) values,
with higher values in rabbits supplemented
with SC 0.3 g/day and 0.6 g/day,
compared to those in the control group.
The scrotal diameter did not differ
between the dietary treatments. When
compared with the control group, feeding
rabbits graded levels of SC resulted in an
increase in the average semen volume,
mass motility and individual motility at
day 51 of the experiment. On the other
hand, the sperm concentration was
significantly lower (P< 0.05) in rabbits
supplemented with SC 0.3 g/day and
0.6 g/day during the two months compared
to that in the control group. The
spermatozoa mortality rate was lower for
the rabbits supplemented with SC 0.3 g/day and 0.6 g/day (15.7% and
11.4%, respectively), compared to that in
the control group (24%). In conclusion,
this study has shown that inclusion of SC
0.3 g/day and 0.6 g/day in the diets of
rabbit has positive effects on body weight and sperm analysis. Moreover, it increases
the level (RBCs), haemoglobin (HGB),
haematocrit (HCT) and mean corpuscular
haemoglobin (MCH)
Study on the quality of table eggs obtained in a profile unit
The egg has a great nutritional value and is called "complete food". The study was conducted in an egg production unit
located in southeastern Romania. In the current context of products available on the consumer market, this paper aims
to highlight the importance of quality and freshness of the egg, using methods that are easy to perform and interpret,
such as: exterior appreciation by visual examination of the egg shell and colour, density test in tap water, egg
organoleptic examination to determine the freshness degree, vitelline index determination, pH determination and
determination of the egg yolk colour using La Roche method. 25 samples of different quality, weight and laying data
eggs were analysed. In addition, samples were also examined microbiologically for the presence of Salmonella spp., in
shell or in content. Exterior examination revealed that the most common colour of the examined eggs shell was light
brown (40%). Egg organoleptic examination indicated that all samples analysed had an appropriate odour and presented
the white egg corresponding colour (white). Following the vitelline index and pH determination, it was concluded that
18 eggs (72%) were fresh and 7 eggs (28%) were within the upper limit of acceptability values. In conclusion, eggs
produced on the farms of the study unit comply with the legal requirements for classification in category A and the
corresponding weight categories. The study reconfirms that through nutritional values, the egg contributes to a balanced
and healthy diet
In Vivo Evaluation of Biocompatibility of Three Biomaterials Used in Endodontics for Prosthetic Purposes in Complex Rehabilitation Treatment
The ideal biomaterial used in endodontics in the process of sealing the radicular canals should possess a group of qualities for a predictable outcome: biocompatibility, initiation of ontogenesis and cementogenesis, ease of handling, sufficient manipulation time, and convenient price. For a perfect sealing, the root canal treatment can be followed by prosthetic restoration. This study of biocompatibility aims to determine the quantification of the local reaction following the implantation of three biomaterials in the rabbit subcutaneous connective tissue. The used biomaterials with particular reparative properties are: MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate, Dentsply, Tulsa Dental, Johnson City, TN, USA), Sealapex (Kerr, Switzerland), and DiaRoot BioAggregate (Innovative BioCaramix Inc, Vancouver, BC, Canada). The first two biomaterials (MTA, Sealapex) are already being used in endodontic treatments, and the latter was newly introduced during the concrete development of the study. This is an experimental study focused on qualitative and quantitative analysis based on histopathological examination and underlined by the positive result of the study undertaken of the applicability of oral rehabilitation treatments, increasing patients’ quality of life by a significant proportion of 95%, and generating optimal functionality of the stomatognathic system with prosthetic devices as well as accomplishing the objectives of homeostasis
Phyto-Functionalized Silver Nanoparticles Derived from Conifer Bark Extracts and Evaluation of Their Antimicrobial and Cytogenotoxic Effects
Silver nanoparticles synthesized using plant extracts as reducing and capping agents showed various biological activities. In the present study, colloidal silver nanoparticle solutions were produced from the aqueous extracts of Picea abies and Pinus nigra bark. The phenolic profile of bark extracts was analyzed by liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was monitored using UV-Vis spectroscopy by measuring the Surface Plasmon Resonance band. Silver nanoparticles were characterized by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray and transmission electron microscopy analyses. The antimicrobial and cytogenotoxic effects of silver nanoparticles were evaluated by disk diffusion and Allium cepa assays, respectively. Picea abies and Pinus nigra bark extract derived silver nanoparticles were spherical (mean hydrodynamic diameters of 78.48 and 77.66 nm, respectively) and well dispersed, having a narrow particle size distribution (polydispersity index values of 0.334 and 0.224, respectively) and good stability (zeta potential values of −10.8 and −14.6 mV, respectively). Silver nanoparticles showed stronger antibacterial, antifungal, and antimitotic effects than the bark extracts used for their synthesis. Silver nanoparticles obtained in the present study are promising candidates for the development of novel formulations with various therapeutic applications
