?The Mudadero Hill section and its flora. The Province of La Rioja, Argentina?. The survey of a section more than 500 m thick in the Mudadero Hill (West of Jagüé) made possible the recognition of six litofacies and the collection of an important number of Lower Carboniferous fossil plants. Five taxa have been identified: Frenguellia eximia (Frenguelli) Arrondo, Césari & Gutiérrez; Malanzania ottonei sp. nov.; Diplothmema bodenbenderi (Kurtz) Césari; Eusphenopteris devonica (Frenguelli) Sessarego & Césari and ?Oclloa sp. Their study and the analysis of the litofacies show the palaeoenvironmental evolution of the sequence with clear marine activity in its lower section, followed by the characteristic of lagoonal sedimentation up to a progressive continentalization in its upper part. A distribution chart shows thirteen species of the Early Carboniferous in Argentina, distributed in seven localities.
?Microfossils from the Upper Carboniferous of the Precordillera of La Rioja Province, Argentina?. Upper Carboniferous Ichthyoliths and Ostracods from the western Argentina occur associated with other invertebrates in the upper member of the Río del Peñón formation.
?The Early Carboniferous of Argentina?. The Earliest Carboniferous sediments of Argentina are found in the western Precordillera and in the Central Patagonia. A nearly 2,000 m thick Tournaisian-Viséan sequence made of terrestrial and of marine sediments has been developed in the Precordillera and the sequence more than 1,000 m thick in the Central Patagonia. A Tournaisian faunal assemblage with paleoequatorial affinities suggests that warm water seas have prevailed in the Pacific embayment in the northern portion of the Precordillera (Río Blanco basin). At the Mid Carboniferous boundary, or perhaps before the end of the Viséan, a global lowering of temperature triggered the Late Paleozoic glacial age. This climatic change has been followed by a dramatic faunal change of the litoral ecosystems, where former ?warm faunas? have died out, being replaced by the faunal assemblages adapted to cold waters.

?The comparative study of planar structures with photolineaments and geomorphological features in the Sierra de Narváez, Provinces of Tucumán and Catamarca, Argentina?. In this comparative study of planar structures in the field with photolineaments and geomorphological features structural control in the geomorphological evolution of the Aconquija ranges has been observed. Some of the geomorphological structurally controlled features are fault deflected channels: fault bounded positive blocks which show the main attitude of strata. The tectonic activity is expressed in reverse faults with strike-slip components which induced sinistral block rotation in the metamorphic basement and in the sedimentary Tertiary cover.

?Geological characteristics of the ?Loma Colorada?, Choya Department, Province of Santiago del Estero, Argentina?. The ?Loma Colorada?, which presents a group of elevations at the lenght of 3,5 km, is located a few kilometers from the southern end of the Sierra de Guasayan and from the western one of the Cerro Ichagon. It consists almost exclusively of a set of piroclastic rocks which belong to the Fm Sol de Mayo. Two types of tufas ?the welded and the cystalline ones? have been differentiated in the piroclastic sequence. The Cerrillos Cerro Ichagon is considered to be the emitting center due to the recurrent vulcanism. The pulses of activity of it belong to the Late Carboniferous ?Early Permian, Upper Triassic? Early Jurassic and Upper Miocene. The referred rocks are located in the first pulse. The hydrotermal alteration has manifested itself as silification and argillic alteration.
