El imperio no contraataca. Propaganda y dibujo animado en Alemania (1939-1945)
In contrast to the war scene, where it unleashed hostilities and maintained the initiative on several fronts at the same time, the National Socialist regime was hardly able to match the Allied countries in the political use of animation, despite the exceptional importance it attached to propaganda. In view of this failure, the article explores the causal framework and delves into a field of forces where institutions compete with companies and talented figures with opportunists in the development of films of very uneven tone and quality that quickly fell into oblivion but which, given their documentary value, should be taken into account in the general framework of the history of animation.
Why is animation such a central aesthetic in today’s epistemic environment and when did viewers begin to accept animation’s veracity, despite looking nothing like photorealism or anything one would witness directly? This article explores the techno-cultural reasons for the rise of animated non-fiction in the last 15 years.
The communication of mental disorders in the youth population is a challenge for public and private institutions due to the great scope that mental disorders have among the youth population (Costas-Pérez et al., 2023). This communication should be aimed at raising awareness in society, but it should also serve to fight against stigmas that have become entrenched in society (López et al., 2008). The current scenario poses the question of what tools are needed to disseminate conciliatory messages to young people. At this stage, we ask ourselves whether animation, due to its creative process, can be positioned as the appropriate medium to achieve the two objectives set: to raise awareness in order to destigmatize. Following the theory of González-Pacanowski & Medina-Aguerrebere (2009); Okan et al., (2016) y Vivas (2021) who claim that visual y graphic resources can improve the understanding of this type of information by simplifying complex messages, we will carry out a study of the animated short films What’s Up With Everyone? (Aardman, 2021) with the aim of determining how the narrative discourse is constructed and how the audiovisual elements are key to achieving understanding by empathizing with mental disorders. This study allows us to affirm that animation manages, thanks to creativity and the creation of imaginary universes, to connect with the audience through empathy, a basic requirement to raise awareness. What’s Up With Everyone?
Mange in farmed rabbits
In this study we determined occurrence of mange in breeding rabbits on 1368 commercial farms in Portugal and Spain during 1996-2022. We obtained our information by carrying out 11 737 visits to 1334 doe farms, 11 farms only with growers, and 23 artificial insemination (AI) centres. The median size of the visited doe farms was 450 does (minimum to maximum: 100–2500 does) and 1175 does (ranging from100 to 6000 does) in 1996 and 2022, respectively. AI was used on 9% of the farms visited in 1996 and 95% in 2022. For our diagnoses we used (1) clinical observations on all visited farms to detect sarcoptic mange; (2) examination of the outer ear of breeding rabbits on a subset of farms to assess the prevalence of otodectic clinical mange (OCM); and (3) the examination of breeding rabbits and youngstock does (2.5 to 5.5 mo old) on a subset of 72 farms during 2018 to estimate prevalence of body mange compatible with cheyletiellosis. They were mainly clinical diagnoses, supported sometimes by a laboratorial confirmation. Over the course of the 27-yr clinical study, the cumulative incidence of sarcoptic mange was low; we recorded a total of 13 affected doe farms. The percentage of farms affected by OCM dropped from 55% in 1996 to 28% in 2022. OCM mean prevalence for the period 1996-2022 and 95% binomial confidence interval (CI) were 3.2% (95% CI [3.1-3.3%]), and 3.9% (95% CI [3.7-4.1%]) in does and bucks, respectively. We observed an improvement over time; the OCM yearly mean prevalence decreased from 7% in 1996 to 2.3% in 2022 in females and from 7.2% to 2.2% in males, respectively. This progress was compatible with the use of semen coming from AI centres; biosecurity measures and medical management also contributed. Genetic type was predisposing risk factor for OCM. Enabling risk factors were year and season (more affected in summer). Hair and skin disorders along the back, compatible with cheyletiellosis, were also assessed during 2018; we detected 50% of positive farms with various prevalence results in females, males or young does. In this study, we describe protocols observed in the control of benign and severe cases of mange in rabbitries, which included the use of ivermectin and synthetic acaricides. Ivermectin was used on 36% of doe farms visited during 2018-2022; we suggest that it should be used less often to lower its negative impact on the environment

Psychosocial factors related to the increasing automation of work processes: A systematic review
Purpose: To identify which psychosocial factors can be related to the increasing automation of work processes, determining practical implications relevant to the evaluation of psychosocial risk factors at work within organizations before the imminent transition towards industry 4.0
Design/methodology/approach: A systematic review of the literature was carried out. The review structure was based on the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach for the studies selection and the Noblit and Hare's meta-ethnographic approach for data analysis and synthesis.
Findings: Thirty-five studies were selected which passed all the selection stages. Six psychosocial risk factors were detected whose behaviors may be influenced by the increasing automation of work. Evidence suggests that the factors of development possibility, change management, mental load, routine content, and job insecurity may increase their exposure due to job modifications owing to new automation technologies. On the other hand, social relationships at work have the ability to positively influence the successful implementation of new automated processes.
Originality/value: The results obtained represent excellent indications of an overview of psychosocial risk factors that may increase their danger due to the increasing automation of work processes and Industry 4.0
Animation has echoed the importance that mental health has recently acquired in society. Knowing how to identify one’s own emotions and interpret them in order to know how to develop skills, make decisions and, in short, to know oneself as an individual, is one of the main challenges facing the contemporary subject. This article examines, from a gender perspective, the treatment of emotional intelligence in South Korean fiction through the series Yumi’s Cells (2021-2022), which combines real images and animation. A textual analysis reveals that the representation of ani[1]mated characters serves as a pedagogical tool for the audience to learn to detect everyday emotions, particularly in the context of South Korean society, which lacks certain psychological resources, as the extroversion of emotions is considered a social taboo.

Achieving qualitative transformations in the teaching-learning process as a consequence of a wide and widespread use of ICThas been one of the premises in the current curricular transformation carried out in Higher Education, these changes must beexpressed fundamentally in the renewal of conceptions and pedagogical practices that imply reformulating the role of the teacherand developing teaching-learning models different from the traditional ones. It is precisely in this educational environmentwhere the concepts of TAC and TEP appear with the aim of reorienting the use of ICT towards a formative and collaborativedevelopment, both for the student and the teacher. The present work aims to propose the educational application on operationalamplifiers (OpEdu) in its version 0.5 as an organizational form of integration of ICT - TAC - TEP in the teaching - learningprocess of the electrical engineering career of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, from the currentcurricular transformations. The application is based on the free software Scilab and allows the analysis, experimentation, demonstration and design of the functions of operational amplifiers. Among the results obtained are the development of thedesign of seven modules, it also allows students to be able to independently carry out their own experiments and designs ina safe environment. With the development of the application, greater access is facilitated among students and specialists forpurposes.
In the Teaching of Newtonian Dynamics at the University Level we usually build Mechanical Models to understand the Physical situation studied. Usually, we first build simple models that we will later become more sophisticated with the intention of creating a more complex and therefore more realistic model in the end. We thus ensure that the sophisticated model is better than the simple model (Progressive Modeling Strategy, EMP). Is this always like this? We present here the construction of Two Mechanical Models (one Sophisticated and the other Simple) to study the Movement of a Massive Rope Sliding on a Table with and without Dry Friction and we show that the main results obtained in the simple model are as good and general as those obtained from the sophisticated model. The above shows us how to study the problem of the Rope that Slides across a Table in different stages of University Education without detriment to the complete understanding of the problem posed. As a complement to the above, we also discuss the Lagrangian version of the Problem, as well as a possible generalization to the problem posed.
