Enseñar la sostenibilidad en el entorno construido de forma innovadora: La perspectiva del tecnólogo arquitectónico
Aquest article recull les veus de col·lectius tradicionalment marginats en l’educació i pràctica arquitectònica al Regne Unit. En un context de múltiples crisis, les experiències viscudes fora dels itineraris convencionals qüestionen les normes pedagògiques dominants. S’analitza l’evolució dels tecnòlegs arquitectònics, una professió tècnica i executiva, i les barreres que afecten qui accedeix per vies no tradicionals: estudiants de primera generació, migrants amb titulacions infrareconegudes, dones que compaginen cures i professió, i docents que innoven curricularment. Situats “fora” de les jerarquies establertes, aquests professionals es presenten com a agents clau per a trencar estructures arrelades. Mitjançant pedagogia crítica i mètodes experimentals, es defensa un enfocament educatiu inclusiu, tecnològicament alfabetitzat i ecològicament conscient per a l’entorn construït.This article gathers the voices of groups marginalised in UK architectural education and practice. Amid multiple crises, experiences from outside conventional pathways challenge dominant pedagogical norms.It analyses the evolving role of architectural technologists and the barriers faced by those entering through non-traditional routes: first-generation students, migrants with under-recognised qualifications, women balancing careers and care, and educators innovating with digital and sustainable curricula. Positioned “outside” traditional hierarchies, these professionals are uniquely placed to break entrenched structures. Through critical pedagogy and experimental methods, the article advocates for an inclusive, technologically literate, and ecologically conscious approach to built environment education.Este artículo recoge las voces de colectivos tradicionalmente marginados en la educación y práctica arquitectónica en el Reino Unido. En un contexto de múltiples crisis, las experiencias vividas fuera de los itinerarios convencionales cuestionan las normas pedagógicas dominantes. Se analiza la evolución de los tecnólogos arquitectónicos, una profesión técnica y ejecutiva, y las barreras que afrontan quienes acceden al campo por vías no tradicionales: estudiantes universitarios de primera generación, migrantes con titulaciones infrarreconocidas, mujeres que compatibilizan cuidados y profesión, y docentes que innovan curricularmente mediante la digitalización y la sostenibilidad. Al situarse “fuera” de las jerarquías establecidas, estos profesionales se presentan como agentes clave para romper estructuras arraigadas. Mediante la pedagogía crítica y métodos experimentales, se defiende un enfoque educativo inclusivo, tecnológicamente alfabetizado y ecológicamente consciente para el entorno construido
Empowering human resource management through artificial intelligence: A systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis
Drawing on a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis, this article examines the burgeoning field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration into Human Resource Management (HRM) practises. By evaluating 77 selected articles from two extensive databases, Scopus and Web of Science, this study illuminates the dynamic intersection of AI technologies and HRM, encapsulating the profound implications for organisational and individual aspects of HR practises. This analysis delineates three primary thematic areas: AI's transformative role in HRM, the emerging paradigm of human-AI collaboration, and the nuanced challenges and opportunities presented by AI in HR practises. This research contributes to the academic discourse by mapping the current state of AI applications in HRM, identifying gaps and proposing directions for future research, emphasising the need for ethical frameworks and the strategic integration of AI to enhance HR practises. Through this scholarly endeavour, we aim to offer a comprehensive overview that aids practitioners and researchers in navigating the complexities of AI's role in reshaping HRM towards more efficient, ethical, and innovative practises
Documentación de la puerta del Dragón de la Finca Güell de Gaudí en Barcelona
A restoration project on the Dragon Gate in Antonio Gaudí’s Finca Güell in Barcelona has been carried out by the authors, paving the way for study and reflection on the evolution of various metric surveys of the building. The loss of Gaudí’s original project plans in an arson attack has made it necessary to refer to specific metric surveys at different times in the building’s history. These surveys date from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, while more recent ones incorporate technology and greatly improve geometric accuracy. These recent examples include three-dimensional (3D) laser scanning, providing the individual context of the objectives proposed. However, in the course of this conservation project, the authors have seen fit to complement the surveys and rectified photographs carried out by specialist teams in recent years. Hidden details of the construction of the iron dragon have also been recorded. The resulting painstaking survey can be of great use in guaranteeing the conservation of the architectural object which is the dragon gate. Furthermore, the alphanumerical and constructive documentation of all its pieces and their unions with adjoining pieces has yielded over 2100 records. As well as supplementing the 3D detailed drawings, these items have aided the stratigraphical study of subsequent interventions in order to repair, relocate and replace the pieces from the dragon gate using variants of different types of union (rivets, bolts, screws). This text reflects both the methodology used and the results obtained from the study. It also showcases the geometric documentation and constructive and structural knowledge which have improved the approach to this magnificent architectural object.El proyecto de restauración realizado por los autores de la puerta del dragón de la Finca Güell en Barcelona de Antonio Gaudí ha permitido una investigación y una reflexión sobre la evolución de los diversos levantamientos métricos realizados a lo largo de la vida del edificio. La desaparición de los planos originarios del proyecto inicial de Gaudí a causa de un incendio, remite directamente a los diversos levantamientos métricos manuales hechos en las décadas de 1960, 1970 y 1980 y, tras ellos, a los realizados en el presente con medios tecnológicos, mucho más precisos geométricamente como el escaneo láser tridimensional (3D), situando cada uno en su contexto y en relación con el objetivo propuesto. Sin embargo, las necesidades derivadas de la redacción del presente proyecto de conservación han llevado a los autores a complementar los levantamientos y fotografías rectificadas realizadas por equipos especializados en los últimos años, así como a detallar los entresijos constructivos del dragón metálico, para generar un levantamiento minucioso, útil a los efectos de la conservación del objeto arquitectónico. Además, se ha realizado una documentación alfanumérica y constructiva de todas las piezas que lo integran y sus modos de unión con las adyacentes con más de 2100 registros resultantes, que no solo suplementa estos dibujos de detalle en tres dimensiones, sino que también ha permitido el estudio estratigráfico de las sucesivas intervenciones de reparación, recolocación y sustitución de las piezas de la puerta del dragón, a través de las variantes de estos modos de unión (remaches, roblones, tornillos). Este texto refleja la metodología empleada en el estudio realizado, así como los resultados obtenidos no solo de documentación geométrica, sino también de conocimiento constructivo y estructural, que han permitido mejorar notablemente la aproximación a este magnífico objeto arquitectónico

Listening to Teachers: CEFR implementation in University Language Centres in Spain: Inglés
Despite the widespread reference to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Companion Volume (CV) in the language teaching curriculum in Spain, there is no information regarding teachers’ familiarity with the documents and their degree of implementation in University Language Centres, crucial for he internationalization of universities. To bridge this gap in the literature, a questionnaire was designed, validated and administered to sixty-four teachers from 14 different Centres throughout Spain. Findings reveal gaps in the teachers’ knowledge regarding differences between the documents, specific issues related to the CV, and varying degrees of familiarity and use of competences and their descriptors. A further analysis of open questions also revealed those aspects which are missing in teacher training. The results obtained may be used to inform continuous teacher training to improve CEFR/CV implementation in University Language Centres in Spain, aligning their teaching practice to the documents
The foreign language lexicon of monolinguals and immigrant heritage speakers: word production, clustering and switching
Research on the productive vocabulary of foreign language (FL) learners is scarce especially when it comes to researching children and immigrant heritage speakers (IHS). To address this gap, the present paper provides a comparative analysis of the lexical profiles and use of lexical organization and retrieval strategies of two groups of 6th grade monolinguals and IHS learners of EFL. Through a mixed-methods approach, we explore the number of types and tokens produced by each group in two semantic fluency tasks, the use of lexical clustering and switching strategies, and the nature of associations within clusters. Despite the advantage in lexical awareness attributed to bilingual learners, monolinguals outperformed them in most of the quantitative tests, although not significantly. Among others, we argue that the competition among the languages during the word retrieval process and, particularly, the distinctive characteristics of IHS could help explain the results
Effect of conjugated linoleic acid on embryo quality in New Zealand rabbits
One of the main challenges in commercial rabbit production is the high nutritional demands in primiparous females, which, together with their limited intake capacity, reduces their body fat stores and could be partly responsible for their low reproductive performance. Supplementation strategies with rich sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids in primiparous rabbits could compensate for their low reproductive performance. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the addition of increasing levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) to the diet of rabbits on embryo development and embryo quality in New Zealand rabbits. Thirty New Zealand females aged 28-30 d and weighing an average of 587.5±35 g at the start of the experiment were randomly distributed into three feeding treatments: T0: (n=10) commercial diet, TCLA1 (n=10): commercial feed +2.5% CLA, TCLA2 (n=10): commercial feed +5.0% CLA, and were fed ad libitum with commercial balanced feed containing 18% crude protein and 12% crude fibre during the experimental phase (120 d). The females were exposed to a male for mating and sacrificed at 72 h postcoitus to obtain the embryos. No significant differences (P>0.05) were observed in the final weight of the animals between treatments. However, females fed with CLA presented a higher body condition compared to the control group (P<0.05). The TCLA2 group females presented an average of 9.5±1.467 embryos recovered per female, showing a significant difference (P<0.05) compared to the TCLA1 and T0 treatments. The embryos from the TCLA1 and TCLA2 treatments presented a higher percentage of excellent and good quality embryos compared to the control group (P<0.05). In conclusion, supplementation with 2.5 and 5.0% conjugated linoleic acid does not affect the final weight of female rabbits but significantly improves their body condition, the number of embryos recovered and embryo quality. These results highlight the potential of CLA as a nutritional tool to optimise reproductive efficiency in rabbit production systems
La reconstrucción del compás del Duque de Béjar (1677)
In Fray Ignacio Muñoz's mathematical manuscript "Observationes diversarum artium" (1664-1677), a chapter on Geometric Instruments details the 1677 Duque de Béjar's compass of reduction. The study focuses on reconstructing the instrument and analyzing the 16 described operations. Of the 10 operations amenable to statistical analysis, a dispersion of 1.574% ±1.509% is found. In conclusion, the error in the construction of the instrument and its six calculation lines is determined to be 1.416%.En el manuscrito matemático Observationes diversarum artium (1664-1677) de Fray Ignacio Muñoz, se aborda un capítulo sobre Instrumentos Geometricos que detalla el compás de proporción reducción del Duque de Béjar de 1677. La investigación se enfoca en la reconstrucción del instrumento y el análisis de las 16 operaciones descritas. De las 10 operaciones susceptibles de análisis estadístico, se encuentra una dispersión del 1,574% ±1,509%. Como conclusión, se estable que el error de la construcción del instrumento y sus seis líneas de cálculo es del 1,416%

This article presents a spatial graphic reconstruction of the lost Houses of the Kingdom of Aragon in Saragossa, developed through a three-dimensional virtual model. This model is used to generate a series of images that enable a better understanding of the basic architectural features of the complex. The virtual model is the result of an integrated interpretation of the available information about the building, primarily taken from historical drawings and documents. This highlights the value of combining both sources. Such a comprehensive analysis reveals a number of uncertainties that only virtual reconstruction can effectively address, making graphic representation an essential tool for the study of historical architecture. The study offers a series of reasoned proposals (while acknowledging the existence of possible alternatives) with the aim of offering an initial visual representation of a building which, despite its historical and artistic significance, had never before been fully reconstructed graphically.El artículo presenta la restitución gráfica espacial del desaparecido palacio de la Diputación del Reino de Aragón, en Zaragoza, realizada mediante un modelado virtual tridimensional del que se obtiene una colección de imágenes que permiten comprender los rasgos arquitectónicos básicos del conjunto. El modelo virtual es el resultado de un trabajo de interpretación integrada de la información disponible del edificio, contenida especialmente en algunos dibujos y documentos históricos, lo que muestra el interés del trabajo conjunto con unos y otros. Esta lectura integral plantea una serie de indeterminaciones que solo la reconstrucción virtual permite afrontar, de modo que la representación gráfica deviene una herramienta indispensable para el estudio de la arquitectura histórica. El trabajo ofrece un conjunto de soluciones razonadas (que, sin embargo, admiten alternativas) con la voluntad de comenzar a representar un edificio que pese a su importancia histórica y artística nunca antes había sido íntegramente reproducido
Análisis geométrico y estereotómico de la bóveda baída de piedra de Bab al-Futuh en El Cairo
In the Fatimid walls of Cairo there is a gate called Bab al-Futuh, built in the 11th century, whose passageway is covered by ashlar stone vaults. The main one is a very interesting sail vault, whose form and construction arrangement are uncommon in Egypt at that time but resemble other stone vaults in Byzantine buildings from northern Syria and Armenia. This study analyzes its geometry using a point cloud obtained through photogrammetry and reviews its stereotomy, which is exceptionally precise despite the early date of construction. Finally, the possible carving techniques employed are discussed.En las murallas fatimíes de El Cairo hay una puerta llamada Bab al-Futuh, construida en el siglo XI, cuyo pasaje está cubierto por bóvedas de piedra de cantería. La principal es una bóveda baída muy interesante, cuya forma y disposición constructiva son poco comunes en Egipto en esa época, pero que se asemeja a otras bóvedas de piedra de edificios bizantinos del norte de Siria y Armenia. Este estudio analiza su geometría a partir de una nube de puntos obtenida por fotogrametría y revisa su estereotomía, excepcionalmente precisa a pesar de la temprana fecha de construcción.
