Neither G nor Spot: Eponyms on the Female Anatomy as a Topic of Gender History and Feminist Art
Abstract Eponyms have a long tradition in medicine. Eponyms for diseases such as ʻAlzheimer'sʼ and ʻAsperger's syndromeʼ are already part of everyday language, and eponyms for anatomy, such as ʻAchilles' tendonʼ or ʻG-spotʼ, are found beyond the language of medical science. The heyday of eponyms was in the last third of the 19th century. This coincided with the period of medical professionalization. Eponyms are artifacts of a male-dominated science that also traces a patriarchal as well as a colonial-racist scientific history. While contemporary discussions on eponyms for female anatomy exist within the anatomical community, they have received limited attention in the realms of scientific history, gender history, and cultural anthropology. The aim of the paper is to provide insights that stimulate further research on the subject and highlight pertinent questions. This essay addresses the issue from two perspectives: a historical and an artistic one. Anna von Villiez places the topic in the context of medical history and feminist debates. Christine Achtermann-Jones introduces her art project “Who the fuck is James Douglas”, delving into the motivations and the art-historical context in which the work was created and can be interpreted
Solidarity in a Multifaceted Crisis : Coronavirus, the Ukraine War and Climate Change
Based on the history of the workers' movement, the article outlines a normative concept of solidarity. Central categories here are commonality in goals, voluntary solidarity, reciprocity of solidarity practices and orientation towards effectiveness. To what extent does today's solidarities correspond to this historical model? This is discussed with regard to neoliberal solidarity during the Corona crisis, national solidarity in the Ukraine crisis and global solidarity in the climate crisis. This also opens up a perspective on solidarity as a real utopia, on solidarity as an ethically based and politically transformative practice

Sulla cristologia pneumatica: Tensioni interpretative e guadagni derivati
The article analyses some tensions in Christology that are closely related to pneumatology. Three areas are examined: the history of Jesus as the site of his “becoming” the Son of God; the interpretation of ancient Christology between Spirit and Logos Christology; the anointing of Christ in the Spirit at the Jordan. In each of these three areas the presence of polarities is emphasized. These polarities are found in Scripture, appear in the Fathers and reappear in various ways in contemporary theology. The conclusions stress the need to maintain certain hermeneutical tensions in contemplating the mystery of Christ in order to avoid simplification.L’articolo analizza alcune tensioni presenti in cristologia, in stretta relazione con la pneumatologia.
Justice through Land Taxation? : An Economic-Ethical Analysis of Property Tax Models in Germany
Over 150 years ago, Henry George identified private property in land as the central cause of social inequality and proposed a pure tax on land rents as a solution. This diagnosis remains relevant today. Private property in land can still be considered inefficient and unjust from both an economic and economic ethics perspective. Among the reform models discussed during the latest property tax reform in Germany, the land value tax proves to be economically more efficient and normatively preferable. It reduces structural privileges associated with land ownership and strengthens the life and development opportunities of disadvantaged groups. However, it only contributes to a more just and sustainable use of land when combined with planning and social policy measures
Wealth taxation as terrestrial economic policy: problems, resistance, and design options
The article highlights the role that wealth-related taxes could play in the context of a “terrestrial” economic policy in the sense of Bruno Latour. The aim is to develop a set of preliminary guidelines for an “ecological wealth tax reform” and to put forward the outlines of a concrete proposal for discussion. Three interrelated restrictions are taken into account. First, the current economic and legal systems of many countries impose strict limits on the consistent taxation of high wealth, which is associated with valuation problems. Second, there is concern that nationally limited taxation of wealth could lead to a massive outflow of capital abroad and other circumvention problems. Third, reference is often made to problems of legitimacy and persuasion, which are also prevalent among large sections of the non-wealthy population. We show that a terrestrial perspective can lead to a reassessment of these restrictions
Sustainable nuclear non-proliferation. Case-study: Iran
Sustainable nuclear non-proliferation is only possible in a world without nuclear weapons. As long as there are nuclear weapons, the odds are that nuclear proliferation will happen, despite the existence of a comprehensive nuclear non-proliferation regime. The next proliferator may be Iran. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)(2015) – better known as the Iran deal – was a very good effort to constrain Iran’s nuclear program. In exchange for sanctions relief, Iran promised to restrict the size of its civilian nuclear program. President Trump withdrew from the Agreement in 2018. As a result, Iran is now very close to acquiring nuclear weapons. The bombings of Iranian nuclear facilities by Israel and the US in 2025 have only caused a delay. Knowledge cannot be bombed. It remains to be seen whether President Trump will succeed in signing an agreement with Iran in his second term
The debt brake in the German constitution as a problem for democratic theory
Alongside the principle of human dignity, the debt brake is one of the best-known provisions of the Basic Law. Unlike human dignity, however, there is no undisputed consensus about it, but rather an ongoing debate about its observance, exceptions, amendment, or abolition. With its aim of binding future parliaments to a debt ban, the debt brake also raises questions of democratic theory. At closer view, it is unclear whom it protects and from what. On closer inspection, it becomes clear that it primarily cements assumptions about the economy and politics that inevitably become obsolete over time. Binding future parliaments on this basis contradicts the principle of democracy, which is protected against constitutional amendments
