Molecular analysis of cell-fate regulation of stem cells -Cytokine LIF and embryonic stem cells-

application/pdf論文(Article)Mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells have two major characteristics, including pluripotency and self-renewal ability. Cytokine LIF (leukemia inhibitory factor) is one of the major regulators of the self-renewal ability of ES cells. LIF stimulation leads to activation of a transcriptional factor STAT3; and its downstream target genes, including Dax1, Esrrb and Klf4, are involved in the ability. Here, we investigated ES cell-culture condition using made inhouse LIF.departmental bulletin pape

    Get PDF
applicationIn 2020, online classes in higher education became necessary because of COVID-19. This had a considerable impact on active learning, which fosters mutual understanding through peer communication. The purpose of this study was to examine Teams as a tool for online group discussions and to explore its educational value in higher education. In “Psychology of Communication”, students participated in presentations and small group discussions in two of 15 remote classes by using the functions of Teams’ Breakout Room. The final 230 reports were analyzed to reveal the educational value of the new attempts. The results revealed three primary things students learned during group discussions, which were expression and steps to facilitate discussion smoothly, respecting various values, and the importance of ice-breakers and self-disclosure. However, the disadvantages associated with online discussions included communication difficulties such as anxiety for others’ lack of reactions and understanding when the camera is off. Based on those findings, effective instruction should be developed.論文(article)othe

Feature Inheritance from MoodP in the Left Peripheral Field

    Get PDF
The cartography analysis in syntax has dealt with wide range of syntactic phenomena. The functional categories in the left peripheral area of the cartography have their own discourse function. Based on the cartography analysis, this paper shows the possibility of occurrence of a projection called “MoodP” above FinP in the left periphery of clauses. MoodP bears the function of expressing speaker’s mood or modality concerning uncertainty, presupposition, command, advice, exclamation, remorse, disappointment, agreement, tense, negation, etc. These features concerning mood or modality in MoodP undergo feature inheritance from MoodP to T. Complementizer agreement is one of the by-products of the feature inheritance. The ϕ- features in T that are inherited from MoodP percolate up from T to Fin, which is caused by requirement of the Optimality Theoretic constraint called “Percolation” in Distributed Morphology.論文(Article)departmental bulletin pape

The students took a short pre- and post-lecture knowledge test. The results of this study revealed that students with a high level of Japanese vocabulary ability showed higher learning performance for unfamiliar knowledge delivered via the video lecture. This pilot study contributes to predicting students’ online learning performance based on student properties.departmental bulletin pape
