Effects of Stress Inoculation Training and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in Enhancing Conjugal Bliss of Women with Childhood Trauma in Lagos, Nigeria
In Nigeria, reports have linked past trauma with low levels of conjugal bliss in women. Previous studies on conjugal bliss focused more on family and environmental factors than on interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Stress Inoculation Training (SIT). This study, using a quasi-experimental design, therefore, was designed to determine the effects of CBT and SIT on the conjugal bliss of women with past trauma in Lagos State, Nigeria, while also examining the moderating effect of partner support. The research was conducted using the Vulnerability Stress Adaptation Model of Marriage Theory. The study employed a four-stage sampling technique, selecting two local government areas (LGAs), Agege and Ajeromi Ifelodun, based on the availability of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs). PHCs were purposively selected based on the number of eligible women and the conduciveness of the locations for intervention. A screening test was administered to 205 married women in the selected LGAs using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form (CTQ-SF/MEQ) to identify those with past trauma. Respondents who scored 50.0% and above were included in the study, resulting in a final sample of 81 married women (married for 1–10 years) receiving medical services at the PHCs. Participants were randomly assigned to either the CBT or SIT intervention groups. Findings revealed that both CBT and SIT significantly improved conjugal bliss among women with past trauma, with SIT demonstrating the highest levels of improvement. Additionally, partner support played a crucial role in enhancing conjugal bliss. The study suggests that marriage and family health practitioners, as well as women's affairs bodies, should incorporate these therapeutic interventions to improve conjugal well-being among women with past trauma.

An Assessment of The Relevance of Immanuel Kant’s Conception of Moral Ethics as a Solution to Corrupt Practices in Nigerian Politics
The prevalence of corruption in Nigerian society is not only a hunch; rather, it has become a national disgrace. It is a significant obstacle to both sustainable growth and the democratization of Nigeria's political landscape. There have been several attempts throughout this country's history to stop the spread of this monster. Immanuel Kant's ethics' postulation and prescription on the impact of corruption on national development were the focus of the study, which used conceptual, critical, and analytical methods. According to Kant, there is a close relationship between categorical imperatives and morality; morality must be founded on the categorical imperative as it is imperative and cannot be disregarded or claimed to be irrelevant. The conclusion drawn by the article is that, given the lack of progress in Nigeria's numerous attempts to combat corruption, Nigerians must alter their behavior if the country is to experience lasting and sustainable development. Kant's Categorical Imperatives, which states that one should always act and behave as though one's course of action or line of conduct were a universal or general law, is a necessary tool for doing so.

Examination on Social Injustice in Contemporary Societies Amartya Sen's Approach
The article looks at Amartya Sen’s perspective on the injustice problem as well as the idea of justice. To understand Sen’s view of justice, one must consider his critique of Rawls’ Theory of Justice. One could read Sen’s Idea of Justice as both a critique of Rawls’ theory of justice and a suggestion for a different approach. Sen’s criticism of Rawls’ theory of justice led to the development of his own view of justice. Furthermore, by examining and understanding Sen’s notion of justice, Niti and Nyaya’s human reasoning is able to differentiate between injustice and justice. Adam Smith proposes the unbiased observer as the moral criterion in the Theory of Moral Sentiments. This concept is used by Sen to the question of political fairness. Sen offers the Capability Model as a remedy for the equal justice problem in his works.

Promoting Critical Thinking Research Skills and Digital Citizenship among Students of Nigeria’s Tertiary Institutions
The study is anchored on the importance of promoting critical thinking research skills and digital citizenship among students of Nigeria’s tertiary institutions with special emphasis on universities in Delta State, Nigeria. Three research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was 131,150 (one hundred and thirty one thousand, one hundred and fifty) tertiary institutions’ students in Delta state. A self-structured questionnaire developed by the researcher and titled “Promoting Critical Thinking Research Skills and Digital Citizenship Questionnaire” (PCTRSDCQ) was used for data collection. This instrument was validated by three experts, two from the Department of Social Science Education and one from Measurement and Evaluation all from Delta State University, Abraka. Reliability coefficient of .74 was established using Cronbach Alpha reliability estimate. Mean with standard deviation were used to answer the research questions. T-test statistics was used in analyzing the hypotheses at .05 level of significance. The findings of the study among others revealed that universities’ students in Delta State are not exposed to critical thinking research skills, and the concept of digital citizenship. The researcher therefore recommended among others that management of universities, and lecturers should encourage students to explore critical thinking research skills, and digital citizenship in their research writing. This will enhance quality research output among universities’ students in Delta State.

Editorial
This edition of NIU Journal of Social Sciences focuses on Development Administration, Educational Psychology as well as Social Philosophy.
The first part of the Journal addresses issues in Development Administration such as Global Peace, Waste Management Practices, Tourism, Intelectual Property Protection Rights, Petroleum Product Distribution and Logistics as well as Cashless Policy and the Financial Performance of Deposit Money Banks. It is established in one of the papers that many Nigerian tourist centres underutilise the digital marketing opportunities embedded in the social media sphere. It suggests therefore that social media utilisation can accelerate tourism promotion and development in Nigeria as long as tourist centres in the country pay attention to creating share-worthy experiences and cultivating vibrant engagements with tourists.
Papers in the second part are on Educational Psychology. It is revealed in one of the papers in this section that peer collaboration, teacher feedback, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) career exposure play pivotal roles in shaping girls’ attitudes towards STEM subjects. Hence, the study recommends that schools should provide regular teacher training programs to improve the effectiveness of feedback strategies and implement structured feedback mechanisms to provide timely and constructive support to foster girls’ interest in STEM.
In the last section on Organizational Behaviour, one of the papers reveals that beliefs and attitudes were not statistically significant in shaping consumer buying decisions in either outlet type. Furthermore, psychological factors play a vital role in influencing consumer purchasing decisions in both retail formats. The paper therefore recommends that retailers develop a marketing tactics effective and suitable to motivate at the same time influence consumers’ buying behavior, targeting the factors that determines their purchase decisions to include past experience, product awareness, social status, personal values, and emotional responses.
Readers are advised to make proper use of the ideas presented by the various authors in this issue of NIU Journal of Social Sciences. Some of these papers are empirical in nature while others have theoretical base. Each of them focuses on one specific social and management problem or the other; trying to proffer solutions to them
Spatial Arrangement and Pattern in Emerging Knowledge
This article explores man’s quest to understand the origin of life. It examined the concept of evolution in two worldviews and their roles in the making of new forms. Relying on theories in emergent philosophy, it argued that the African worldview embodies an insightful pattern and process that were embedded into science and made rational through a merging that fused spiritual with physical and enabled new forms into becoming concrete. Therein, it highlighted the possibility of reconciling science and religion by demonstrating that ideas in African traditional religion are compatible with concepts in Western knowledge

Assessment of Clothing and Textile Skills and Facilities for Inculcating Entrepreneurship in Undergraduate Students in Southwestern Nigeria
This study evaluates the state of training facilities, equipment functionality, and garment-construction skills among Clothing and Textiles undergraduates in Southwestern Nigeria, examining how these factors influence entrepreneurial inclination. Data were gathered from 386 students across public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education using structured questionnaires, yielding a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.825, alongside direct observations. The demographic profile indicated that 57% of respondents were female, and 63. 7% were aged 21–25, with public universities representing 53. 4% of enrolment. Table analyses showed that while key facilities such as university libraries (74.6%) and textile design studios (73.6%) were widely available, critical practical laboratories like clothing construction (53.1%) and pattern drafting (43.3%) laboratories were significantly under-resourced. Equipment-related data indicate a high availability of stitching tools, with sewing machines accessible to 90. 9% of respondents, and over 60% of these machines reported as functioning well; however, pressing and fitting equipment exhibited lower adequacy and functionality ratings. Pearson chi-square tests confirmed statistically significant relationships (p = 0.000) between the availability, adequacy, and functionality of clothing and textile equipment and students' inclination towards entrepreneurial skills. In terms of skill acquisition, students scored a grand mean of 2. 59 (on a 4- point scale), demonstrating strong proficiency in foundational tasks such as taking body measurements (M = 2. 75) and pattern cutting (M = 2. 70), but lower mastery in advanced techniques including garment lining (M = 2. 45) and interfacing (M = 2. 42). Based on these findings, the study strongly recommends targeted investments to upgrade under-resourced laboratories and modernize essential equipment, coupled with curricular enhancements that focus on advanced practical techniques. These measures are critical to improving skill mastery and fostering a robust entrepreneurial disposition among graduates in the competitive clothing and textile industry
N-Power Programme and Poverty Reduction: A Post Beneficiaries Exploration in Niger State, Nigeria
This study investigates the impact of the N-Power programme on poverty reduction in Niger State, with a specific focus on the 2020 Batch A, B, and C beneficiaries. The objectives were to assess the employment status of post-beneficiaries, examine changes in income and living standards, and explore the challenges encountered after exiting the programme. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and employed a quantitative research approach. A sample of 354 respondents was selected from a population of 3,091 beneficiaries using stratified random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-tests, and multiple regression analysis with the aid of Stata 17. The findings revealed that 61.9% of beneficiaries were employed after the programme, with a statistically significant improvement in their income levels and living standards. However, key challenges such as lack of startup capital, difficulty securing permanent employment, and absence of post-exit support were identified. Regression results indicated that employment status, income, skill utilization, and ability to save were significant predictors of poverty reduction. The study concludes that while the N-Power programme has positively influenced the economic conditions of many young Nigerians in Niger State, its long-term impact can be strengthened through post-programme support, access to finance, and improved policy implementation. Recommendations include the provision of soft loans or grants, establishment of mentorship structures, private sector engagement, and development of a beneficiary tracking system to ensure sustainability and continued poverty alleviation
