On an interval prediction of COVID-19 development based on a SEIR epidemic model
In this report, a revised version of the well-known mathematical outbreak SEIR model is used to analyze the epidemic's course of COVID-19 in eight different countries. The proposed model enhancements reflect the societal feedback on pandemic and confinement features. The parameters of the SEIR model are identified by using publicly available data for France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Russia, New York State (US), and China. The identified model is then applied for the prediction of the SARS-CoV-2 virus propagation under different conditions of confinement. For this purpose, an interval predictor is designed allowing variations and uncertainties in the model parameters to be taken into account. The code and the utilized data are available in Github

The downstream run of silver eels has been monitored for the seventh year with a muti-beam sonar (DIDSON)positioned on a guidance rail at the fourth gate of the Arzal dam at the head of the Vilaine estuary. The2017-2018 season is impacted by a technical problem occuring at the end of January. The concentrator ofthe aquisition chamber acting as a focus to the beam has been twisted, and the detection diminished stronglyfrom 9m. This problem has been repared from 13 december. It is partly offset by assumptions of decreasingdetection effciency and by not taking into accounts detections beyond 11 m in extrapolations. The detectioneffciency has been calculated according to the position, the distance to the sonar, and the eels sizes. Usingthis effciency, the percentage of the surface of the gate monitored by the sonar, and the ratio of the flow of the fourth gate to the other gates, the number of eels counted when the monitoring of the sonar was judgedaccurate (1 678) have been extrapolated first on the whole gate than to the whole dam to obtain an estimateof the run (N=52 534). From these values, a model was built to estimate the run of eels when the sonar wasbadly positioned or when it failed to record properly (N=11 182). The annual run of silver eel on the Vilaineis estimated at (N=64 640) corresponding to an estimated weight of 36 tons.
State of the Art : Classification algorithms for sensor fusion in the approach phaseCocotier Project
This report first formulates the problem that must be approached in the work package LOT 5.9 as well as the identified challenges to solve this problem with a data driven approach (model based approaches are the focus of another work package). It then presents a state of the art of the methods that are commonly used to solve a fault detection problem and it provides an overview of the different data driven approaches applicable to the problem.Standard unsupervised learning methods (Section 3.1) as well as supervised learning methods (Section 3.2) are presented. A focus is then put on data driven dynamic methods (Section 3.3) that allow one to account for dynamics and evolving environments, in par- ticular dynamic clustering methods are presented in Section 3.3.1, including the in-house dynamic clustering tool DyClee, and correlation-based methods are presented in 3.3.2.Specific methods that can be used to face identified challenges (fusion, imbalanced data) are introduced in Section 4 and some metrics that can be used to evaluate a model obtained from a learning process are given
