Typologie des habitats marins benthiques de la Manche, de la Mer du Nord et de l'Atlantique - VERSION 3
No full textCe rapport présente la version actualisée de la partie « Atlantique » du référentiel national des habitats marins benthiques en expliquant les modifications opérées.La mise à jour de la partie marine du référentiel européen EUNIS ainsi que les échanges avec les benthologues ont conduit à revoir les principes généraux de la typologie. La structure hiérarchique a été modifiée en débutant au premier niveau par des combinaisons de l’étagement et des types de substrat et ce, de manière à être le plus proche possible de la nouvelle version d’EUNIS. A la suite de ce premier niveau, révisé intégralement, les habitats listés dans la précédente version de la typologie ont été replacés au sein de la combinaison étage/substrat pertinente. Un effort particulier a été réalisé pour définir et homogénéiser la terminologie utilisée. La typologie a été complétée par de nouveaux habitats émanant de la bibliographie et de propositions directes d’experts. Enfin, les points nécessitant l’acquisition de nouvelles connaissances scientifiques sont également mentionnés

Toxicology of platinum anticancer drugs: oxidative stress and antioxidant effect of stable free radical Pt-nitroxides
No full textFor a series of Pt(II)-and Pt(IV)-nitroxide conjugate drug treatments of healthy and leukemic mice, it has been shown: (a) for healthy mice, the median lethal dose, LD 50, is inversely linearly related to the HOMO-LUMO energy gap of the drugs. The relationship is linear and proportional for high and low dosages, and (b) that the increase in life span, ILS, of leukemic mice, is positively related to the HOMO-LUMO gap, indicating that these drug are effective against leukemia in the mice. In another series of common neutral Pt(II) and Pt(IV) drugs, it was found that the LD 10 was directly related to the HOMO-LUMO gap, unlike the Pt-Nitroxides, which are stable free radicals, and which showed a negative LD 50 relationship with the HOMO-LUMO gap, consistent with antioxidant behaviour having a positive lowering effect on lethality. It is the antioxidant effect of the stable radical nitroxide ligand on the Pt-Nitroxides which is exerting a toxicity lowering effect on the animals. It was also found that the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) in humans for some common Pt(II) and Pt(IV) drugs was driven by water desolvation and lipophilicity of the drugs, with little influence by the HOMO-LUMO gap, indicating that it is drug transport processes that principally drive the MTD in humans. The cytotoxicity, IC 50 , of a series of Pt(II)-and Pt(IV)-nitroxides with HeLa (cervical cancer cells) and H1299 (human non-small cell lung carcinoma) cells was shown to be dependent on th
