Activity Report: PhD 1st Year: Study of Qualimetry essentials applied to embedded software product and organization, with consideration to software entropy
International audienceThe purpose of this report is to summarize the first-year of research activity related to Yann Argotti’s PhD inside the IC/ISI group at LAAS-CNRS. This PhD candidate is registered at EDSYS school and INSA Toulouse in “Computer science and embedded systems” specialization track. Claude Baron, IC/ISI group responsible and Philippe Esteban, member of IC/ISI group, are co-joint thesis directors. Thesis subject is “Study of Qualimetry essentials applied to embedded software product and organization, with consideration” During this first year, current topic was analyzed to understand the problematic. This analyze was completed by a state-of-the-art start that allowed to identify what are the current technical road blockers and to have the first contributions synthesized over the production of a research paper [1] that was accepted for the incoming IEEE System Conference 2019 (see Annex). In parallel, the overall thesis approach was refined and consolidated with the need for creating a tool to support the research activity.Thus, in next parts of this report we are going to review the scientific context linked to our problematic, the goals we are targeting with this PhD work, how we are organizing our research work, then go through the current achievements and finally conclude
Higgs Physics at the HL-LHC and HE-LHC
The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, by the ATLAS and CMS experiments, was a success achieved with only a percent of the entire dataset foreseen for the LHC. It opened a landscape of possibilities in the study of Higgs boson properties, Electroweak Symmetry breaking and the Standard Model in general, as well as new avenues in probing new physics beyond the Standard Model. Six years after the discovery, with a conspicuously larger dataset collected during LHC Run 2 at a 13 TeV centre-of-mass energy, the theory and experimental particle physics communities have started a meticulous exploration of the potential for precision measurements of its properties. This includes studies of Higgs boson production and decays processes, the search for rare decays and production modes, high energy observables, and searches for an extended electroweak symmetry breaking sector. This report summarises the potential reach and opportunities in Higgs physics during the High Luminosity phase of the LHC, with an expected dataset of pp collisions at 14 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3~ab. These studies are performed in light of the most recent analyses from LHC collaborations and the latest theoretical developments. The potential of an LHC upgrade, colliding protons at a centre-of-mass energy of 27 TeV and producing a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 15~ab, is also discussed

Vers une méthodologie en design sonore médical : de l'interdisciplinarité au design social
L’accompagnement du travail personnel des élèves en temps périscolaire : un révélateur des enjeux de la réforme des rythmes éducatifs. Enquête « rythmes éducatifs » pour la commune de Villeurbanne
Ce rapport de recherche présente les résultats d’une étude sur l’accompagnement du travail personnel que les élèves effectuent pendant le temps périscolaire dit d’« aide aux leçons ». L’enquête interroge la collaboration entre équipes enseignantes (personnel scolaire) et équipes d’animations (personnel périscolaire) dans l’encadrement du travail des élèves mis en place depuis la réforme des rythmes éducatifs de 2014. Son intention est d’étudier un cas particulier (l’aide aux leçons) pour mieux comprendre l’ensemble des collaborations entre champ scolaire et champ périscolaire. Le travail propose une entrée par les rôles respectifs des professionnels de l’éducation et par la division du travail éducatif dans l’école. Il aborde les enjeux de la collaboration entre scolaire et périscolaire dans le contexte actuel de partenariat éducatif entre l’Éducation nationale et les collectivités territoriales

Complexity bounds for obstacle avoidance within a zonotopic framework
This paper addresses the problem of collision avoidance in a multi-obstacle environment and focuses on its representation in optimization-based control problems. The design problem is commonly stated in the literature in terms of a constrained optimization problem over a non-convex domain. Describing this non-convex domain has computational and structural implications, generally leading to a trade-off between computational efficiency and control performance. Preliminary results make use of hyperplane arrangements to characterize these regions. The hyperplane arrangements build on generic polyhedral sets and a natural question is whether additional structure could bring a benefit. The current paper addresses this issue by the use of zonotopic over-approximation and highlights their benefits when introduced in the obstacle avoidance problem. Comparisons with classical sampled-based approaches are presented through simulations
