    2019年度海外農学実習(ドイツ)が9月15日から22日にかけて開催され,信州大学からは教員2名と学部学生5名が参加した。学生は現地研修のほか,事前学習と事後学習を履修した。現地では12の施設等を巡検したが,これらは森林,林業,教育の3分野に大別された。いずれの分野においても,ドイツ市民の持続可能性に対する意識が強く反映されていた。Article信州大学農学部AFC報告 18: 79-83(2020)departmental bulletin pape

    Triethylamine Enables Catalytic Generation of Oxidopyrylium Ylides for [5+2] Cycloadditions with Alkenes: An Efficient Entry to 8-Oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane Frameworks

    An efficient method for the preparation of a range of 8-oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane derivatives including synthetic intermediates of natural products is described, in which triethylamine effectively catalyzes [5+2] cycloaddition reactions between oxidopyrylium ylides and alkenes. This method can be applied not only to intermolecular cycloadditions with various alkenes but also to intramolecular cycloadditions. The key finding is that the combined use of organic bases having appropriate basicity and oxidopyrylium ylide precursors bearing a suitable leaving group facilitates the base-assisted generation of oxidopyrylium ylides in a catalytic manner.ArticleADVANCED SYNTHESIS & CATALYSIS.360(12):2377-2381(2018)journal articl

    Perspectives on avian stem cells for poultry breeding

    Stem cells have prulipotency to differentiate into many types of cell lineages. Recent progress of avian biotechnology enabled us to analyze the developmental fate of the stem cells: embryonic stem cells / primordial germ cells (PGCs). The stem cells were identified in the central area of the area pellucida of the stage X blastoderms. These cells could be applied for production of germline chimeras and organ regeneration. Generation of medical substrate in transgenic chickens has considerable interests in pharmaceuticals. Sex alteration of the offspring should be enormously beneficial to the poultry industry. Fertilization of the sex-reversed sperm could lead to sexual alteration of the offspring.     木曽川水系一支流におけるアジメドジョウ Niwaella delicata の生息環境

    River systems are hierarchically organized from the higher-scale systems to the lower-scale systems. We examined the presence or absence of the Ajime-loach, Niwaella delicata, across the Nishino River drainage, a part of the Kiso River systems, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, to determine its habitat characteristics at both high-scale (i.e. topographical and geological) and low-scale (i.e. microhabitat) environmental factors. We found association of Ajime-loach occurrence with high link-magnitude characteristics with relatively low levels of slope and dissolved oxygen. At the high scale environmental factors, the occurrence was associated with the amount of underground riverbed flows. Our results suggest that the Ajime-loach prefers high-scale environmental characteristics that depend on topographical and geological factors.ArticleJournal of the Faculty of Science Shinshu University 48 : 1-10(2019)departmental bulletin pape
