「祭り」を通じたグローバル人材育成および多文化共生意識の醸成
本稿では、目的達成のための新しい「祭り」に、「グローパル人材育成」や「多文化共生意識の醸成」などの効果が内在されているかを複数の事例をもとに検証した。なおグローパル人材を「異文化を理解し異なる考え方や行動様式を持つ人達と協働して成果をあげられる人材」と定義した。その結果、複数の文化的背景を持つ人々が触れ合いながら形成していく「祭り」を通じ、取り上げた事例の参加者がグローパル人材として成長したことを確認し、「祭り」にその効果があることを示唆した。多文化共生意識の醸成においては、ボランティア・スタッフとして深く関わる日本および外国の大学生、高校生、一般人においてはその効果が認められたが、客として参加する者に関しては効果が限定的だと分かった。今後、多くの人に「祭り」に参画させ、もどかしさ、困難さを感じさせつつ、チームで協働してプログラムを成功させる経験を積ませることが様々な面で有効だと言える。Article留学生交流・指導研究.18:71-83(2016)journal articl
Calculation of magnetic oscillations via the magnetic-field-containing relativistic tight-binding approximation method: Revisiting the de Haas-van Alphen effect
The magnetic-field-containing relativistic tight-binding approximation (MFRTB) method [Phys. Rev. B 91, 075122 (2015)] is the first-principles calculation method for electronic structures of materials immersed in the magnetic field. In this paper, the MFRTB method is applied to the simple cubic lattice immersed in the magnetic field. The total energy and magnetization oscillate with the inverse of the magnitude of the magnetic field, which means that the de Haas-van Alphen oscillation is revisited directly through the MFRTB method. It is shown that the conventional Lifshitz-Kosevich (LK) formula is a good approximation to the results of the MFRTB method in the experimentally available magnetic field. Furthermore, the additional oscillation peaks of the magnetization are found especially in the high magnetic field, which cannot be explained by the LK formula.ArticlePHYSICAL REVIEW B. 91(24):245101 (2015)journal articl
A Mathematical Problem for Security Analysis of Hash Functions and Pseudorandom Generators
In this paper, we specify a class of mathematical problems, which we refer to as "Function Density Problems" (FDPs, in short), and point out novel connections of FDPs to the following two cryptographic topics; theoretical security evaluations of keyless hash functions (such as SHA-1.), and constructions of provably secure pseudorandom generators (PRGs) with some enhanced security property introduced by Dubrov and Ishai (STOC 2006). Our argument aims at proposing new theoretical frameworks for these topics (especially for the former) based on FDPs, rather than providing some concrete and practical results on the topics. We also give some examples of mathematical discussions on FDFs, which would be of independent interest from mathematical viewpoints. Sperner property and finite-dimensional Gorenstein algebras associated to matroids
We prove the Lefschetz property for a certain class of finite-dimensional Gorenstein algebras associated to matroids. Our result implies the Sperner property of the vector space lattice. More generally, it is shown that the modular geometric lattice has the Sperner property. Molecular Transformation of 2-Methylazulenes: An Efficient and Practical Synthesis of 2-Formyl- and 2-Ethynylazulenes
First published: 09 Jan 20182-Formylazulene derivatives have been obtained in good yields by the reactions of 2-methylazulenes with N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal, followed by oxidative cleavage of the intermediately formed enamines with NaIO4. Vilsmeier formylation of 1-phenyl-3-methylazulenes also afforded the corresponding 2-formylazulenes in moderate yields. The treatment of a 2-methylazulene derivative bearing a formyl group at the 1-position with sodium methoxide led, through a self-condensation reaction, to a trans-1-(azulen-1-yl)-2-(azulen-2-yl)ethylene derivative, the structure of which was verified by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The 2-formylazulenes obtained were transformed into 2-ethynylazulenes in good yields by a modified Seyferth-Gilbert reaction. Synthesis of 2-Aryl- and 6-Heteroaryl-1,3-di(4-pyridyl)azulenes by Katritzky’s Pyridylation of 2-Aryl- and 6-Heteroarylazulenes
Preparation of 2-aryl- and 6-heteroarylazulenes 2-6 and 8-10 was established by the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of the corresponding haloazulenes with lithium aryl- and heteroarylmagnesium ate complexes, which were readily prepared from the corresponding aryl and heteroaryl halides. The reaction of 2-6 and 8-10, except for 3 and 8, with pyridine in the presence of Tf2O, followed by treatment with KOH in MeOH afforded the corresponding 2-aryl- and 6-heteroary1-1,3-di(4-pyridyl)azulenes 11-16 in good yields.ArticleHETEROCYCLES. 89(11):2588-2603 (2014)journal articl
Synthesis of 2,6-Diaminoazulenes by the SNAr Reaction with Cyclic Amines
