課題探究として証明することのカリキュラム開発 : 我が国の中学校数学科全領域における開発枠組みの構築
課題探究として証明することは数学として真正な営みであり,この営みを学校数学で実現する力は資質・能力として課題探究力に該当する。本研究では,中学校数学における証明の学習が課題探究力を育成し得るものとなるよう,課題探究として証明する力に着目し,我が国の中学校数学科全領域におけるカリキュラムの開発を目的とする。本稿では,教科における資質・能力論の“紐解き”と“結びつけ” について意義と現状を指摘し,数学教育における課題探究力を位置づけ,本研究における「課題探究として証明する力」の捉えを示す。その上で,本研究全体の目的,方法,意義と現在の進捗状況を概観し,最後に本分科会における成果報告のタイトルと今後の展望について述べる。Article春期研究大会論文集. 3:1-6 (2015)journal articl
On the best possible competitive ratio for the multislope ski-rental problem
The multislope ski-rental problem is an extension of the classical ski-rental problem, where the player has several lease options besides the pure rent and buy options. In this problem the hardness of an instance, which is the setting of options, significantly affects the player's performance. There is an algorithm that for a given instance, computes the best possible strategy. However, the output is given as numerical values and therefore the relational nature between an instance and the best possible performance for it has not been known. In this paper we prove that even for the easiest instance, a competitive ratio smaller than cannot be achieved. More precisely, a tight lower bound on the best possible performance is obtained in a closed form parametrized by the number of options. Collision Probability in an In-Line Equipment Model under Erlang Distribution
Flat Panel Displays (FPDs) are manufactured using many pieces of different processing equipment arranged sequentially in a line. Although the constant inter-arrival time (i.e., the tact time) of glass substrates in the line should be kept as short as possible, the collision probability between glass substrates increases as tact time decreases. Since the glass substrate is expensive and fragile, collisions should be avoided. In this paper, we derive a closed form formula of the approximate collision probability for a model, in which the processing time on each piece of equipment is assumed to follow Erlang distribution. An improved analysis of SRPT scheduling algorithm on the basis of functional optimization
The competitive performance of the SRPT scheduling algorithm has been open for a long time except for being 2-competitive, where the objective is to minimize the total completion time. Chung et al. proved that the SRPT algorithm is 1.857-competitive. In this paper we improve their analysis and show a 1.792-competitiveness. We clearly mention that our result is not the best so far, since Sitters recently proved the algorithm is 1.250-competitive. Nevertheless, it is still well worth reporting our analytical method; our analysis is based on the modern functional optimization, which can scarcely be found in the literature on the analysis of algorithms.
