Involvement of calcium channels and intracellular calcium in bull sperm thermotaxis
Thermotaxis that sperm migrate to higher temperature area has been confirmed in rabbit and human. In this study, we examined the migration ability of bull sperm in a temperature gradient to confirm thermotaxis and elucidate the involvement of calcium in such theimotaxis, as well as the relation between sperm capacitation and bull fertility. Thermotaxis was evaluated in a temperature gradient of 34-12 degrees C using a cross-type column 22-mm long, 40-mm wide, and 100-mu m deep. Significantly more sperm migrated to the high-temperature area of 39 degrees C in a 2 degrees C temperature gradient, and to 40 degrees C in a 1 degrees C temperature gradient. In calcium-free, BAPTA containing medium, and EGTA containing medium, the migrated sperm ratio in the two temperature areas was almost the same. In media containing lanthanum, ruthenium red, and 2APB, we could not confirm thermotaxis. Pre- and post-capacitated sperm migrated to the high-temperature area, expressing thermotaxis. The sperm from high-fertility bulls showed clear thermotaxis. Based on these results, thermotaxis of bull sperm was confirmed and the involvement of both calcium channels and intracellular stored calcium in thermotaxis was suggested. Although the sample size of bulls was quite small, the difference in thermotaxis may have been associated with bull fertility. Effect of draw ratio on fiber structure development of polyethylene terephthalate
Fiber properties are decided by its structure, and the structure are mainly formed in the fiber drawing process. In this study, the effects of the draw ratio on the fiber structure development of polyethylene terephthalate after continuous neck-drawing were investigated using simultaneous WAXD/SAXS measurements. Low-oriented amorphous as-spun fibers were drawn to a draw ratio of 3.0-4.5, at which the fiber can be stably neck drawn. WAXD and SAXS images were obtained up to 2.0 ms when the structure was mainly developed. The smectic (0010) diffraction intensity and long period increased with increasing draw ratio up to 4.2, and a larger (0010) diffraction d-spacing was observed at a draw ratio of 4.5. The results suggest that more fibrillar structures were formed with increasing draw ratio up to 4.2, and more constrained molecular bundles were formed at a draw ratio of 4.5. A larger amount of constrained fibrillar structures can bear a greater tensile force in tensile tests, therefore the drawn fibers have higher tensile strengths. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. Robust 3D Planes Detection under Noisy Conditions Using Scaled Difference of Normals
3D planes detection is an important task that has numerous applications in urban environments. However, current methods do not deal appropriately with the noise and quantization artifacts of low-cost sensors. In this paper, we present the Scaled Difference of Normals, a points filter that addresses these issues and is implemented on top of the Fast and Deterministic Planes Detection Based on Hough Transform. We evaluated its precision by comparing the detected planes coefficients with semi-automatically generated ground truth data and confirmed that when compared to state of the art methods, the proposed method is fast and has superior precision even in the presence of high noise levels, quantization artifacts and several variations in the points distribution caused by registration.ArticleIIEEJ Transactions on Image Electronics and Visual Computing.5(2):60-73(2017)journal articl
教材づくりに焦点を当てた体育模擬授業の実施方略に関する事例的検討
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a strategy focused on the development of teaching materials in teaching trials conducted as part of the “Seminar in Methods of Teaching Physical Education” course. In the academic year 2012, such teaching trials were designed to promote the course participants' awareness of “teaching materials” and “subject matter”. As a means of promoting such awareness, participants were assigned new tasks to develop supplementary teaching materials. The reactions of the participants to the trial teaching sessions in 2012 were analyzed and compared with those for 2011. The main findings were as follows: 1) Many of the participants' reactions centered on the fact that the “teaching materials” employed in the first trial did not lead to an improvement in teaching technique. 2) The participants' reactions tended to focus on 2 aspects: “the appropriateness of teaching materials as subject matter” and “the systematic connection of supplementary teaching materials as unit teaching materials”. These results indicated that the strategy used in this study to develop supplementary teaching materials and video observations of the trial teaching sessions were effective for making participants aware of the concepts of “teaching materials” and “subject matter” and the relationship between the 2 from the earlier period of the course.Article体育学研究.62(2):757-771(2017)journal articl

キャンパスライフの満足度 : 2019年度学生アンケートの分析から
本学では学生生活の充実を図る目的で、学生を対象にキャンパスライフアンケートを毎年実施している。看護学部学生および別科助産専攻の学生にアンケートの回答を依頼し、374名(回収率:96.39%)から回答を得た。学生生活に影響する要因と満足度指標と大学生活への満足度の相関を調べた。その結果、本学での学生生活に影響する要因として、教員に必要なことを相談できること、交友関係を深められること、精神面の支援体制、くつろげる場所が学生生活への満足度に有意な関連があった。また、満足度指標間で相関がみられたものは、精神面の支援体制、教員に必要なことを相談できること、などであった。しかし強い相関がみられた項目は多くなく、今後は上記の支援体制を強化していくとともに、学生のニーズの把握を行い、学生生活の充実を図る必要がある。departmental bulletin pape
