What is the Subject for Student Teachers to Use ICT in Education? : Problem Analysis of Teacher Training’s Post-Survey

    No full text
At the Shinshu University Faculty of Education, student teachers are required to use ICT equipment in classes they teach during their student-teaching practicum. Their most troubles on using ICT in classes were not able to reflecting a notebook PC or a tablet computer to LCD monitor or projector well. In particular, they had trouble with enlarging a screen of iPad with Apple TV. We found that their needs to learn the basic knowledge and skill to use ICT in classes, for example how to connect to a wireless LAN and difference of HDMI and VGA. Student teachers had a trouble that some children played with ICT equipment in classes without permission, so it is necessary for children to have a rule of using ICT in classes. They should learn not only how to use ICT equipment but also making of rule for children and daily instruction method before student teaching. And we found that sustainable infrastructure use supported a stable class using ICT by student teacher.ArticleEdMedia 2016-World Conference on Educational Media and Technology.2016(1):968-973(2016)conference pape

Attitudes Toward ICT Use in Education : Analysis of Board of Education Website Postings

    No full text
A board of education director in Hino, Tokyo, Japan, makes daily website postings about the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education. Undergraduate students can learn teaching methods using ICT from the website by means of e-learning. We focused on their feelings regarding the use of ICT in education and analyzed them using text mining. As a result, three main aspects of undergraduate students’ feelings emerged: 1) training programs, support systems and cooperation with relevant departments were important in promoting the use of ICT in education, 2) undergraduate students had a negative preconception of ICT and computers and 3) ICT was useful and effective, but using computers for education had a bad influence on children. In addition, we suggest that they thought ICT was a teaching methodology and the computer was a simple tool for education.ArticleED-MEDIA 2009-World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia & Telecommunications.2009(1):3315-3320(2009)conference pape

Effect of Patternmaker’s Proficiency On the Creation of Clothing

    No full text
The effect of the patternmaker’s proficiency on the creation of clothing was investigated by the observation of the patternmaking process for clothing that satisfies the designer. We asked Japanese and French patternmakers to make a clothing pattern for the same design. The reasons for the differences in resultant clothing patterns and toiles made by the two patternmakers are discussed. Although the patternmaking processes used by the proficient patternmakers were similar, the resultant patterns were different owing to different recognition of the design. In particular, the shape and size of the collar that the designer emphasized in the illustration were different in the resultant patterns. Differences in patternmaking originated from differences in the patternmakers′ levels of expertise in terms of education, experience, and proficiency. However, the designer was satisfied with both patterns.ArticleAUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL.17(2):120-128(2017)journal articl

Relationship between Jacket Comfort and Stiffness of Adhesive Interlining

    No full text
We investigated the effects of adhesive interlining on wearing and moving comfort and garment pressure exerted on the body. Scheffe's paired comparison test was performed for sensory evaluation of four jackets of the same pattern: one without interlining and three with different adhesive interlinings. The bonded fabrics have different shear and bending rigidities. Nineteen subjects performed four postures and movements while wearing the jackets. They compared wearing and moving comfort, and the feeling of garment pressure on designated parts of the body on a seven-point scale. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences in preference scores between jacket types. A jacket with lower stiffness was evaluated as more comfortable and as placing less pressure on the body. We conclude that adhesive interlinings affect wearing and moving comfort of jackets and the pressure exerted by a jacket on the body, especially in the shoulder, back, forearm, under the arm and bust areas.ArticleInternational Journal of Affective Engineering.14(3):137-142(2015)journal articl

The principal theme of this paper is "reading-oriented art appreciation," whose essential activity is "reading." After analyzing reading literacy explained in the PISA report, the author examines two types of methods of the language-based art appreciation education by two art historians, Chikako Ishikawa and Noboru Yoshikawa. Then he researches Edmund Burke Feldman's criticism-based art learning that consists of four steps: description, formal analysis, interpretation and judgment (evaluation). Referring to both Ishikawa's and Yoshikawa's theories and on the basis of Feldman's idea, he regards reading literacy as important ability and proposes the seven-stages-program of art appreciation. In the latter half of this paper, he picks up Gentile da Fabriano's altarpiece made with tempera in the International Gothic Style, Adorazione dei Magi (1423) as a subject to learn in a reading-oriented manner. After describing this artwork generally, he investigates following fundamental aspects to consider: ①a religious (Christian) painting and texts as its imagery sources, ②fabricating pictorial areas by visualizing (illustrating) texts, and ③temporal structures and sequential relations among various depicted parts. Continuously pursuing the theme mentioned above, he plans to develop teaching materials to show in the next paper for junior high school students in Japan.Article大学美術教育学会誌.45:103-110(2013)journal articl
