Clarification on Laser-Induced Discharge Mechanism using Optical Sensor
Get PDFIt is very important to clarify the mechanism of discharge induced by a laser-produced plasma channel as a basic study on the laser-induced lightning. We measured the temporal evolution of the electron density and the neutral particle density in one of plasma beads in the channel using Thomson and Rayleigh scattering methods, and also performed discharge induction experiments for a short gap. It was found that the induced discharge is greatly influenced by the temporal evolution of the electron density and the neutral particle density in a plasma.
In this paper, we measured the electric field along the channel using an optical sensor at the discharge induction to study the leader propagation process in a long gap. The induced discharge in a long gap changes in the order of electron avalanche, streamer, leader, and final sparkover similarly as in a long gap discharge in the atmosphere. To clarify the leader propagation, we measured the change in the electric field due to the leader propagation between the electrodes, and estimated the velocity of the leader propagation. Method to Discern Intersection of 2D Arcs Preventing Inconsistency in the Number of Crossing Points Caused by Calculation Error
Get PDFIn geometric computation, the discernment of intersection of figures occasionally fails because of calculation error, and therefore topological inconsistency occurs. Concerning this problem, it seems that the discernment of intersection of figures requires at least consistency in the number of crossing points. Thus we had previously noted a method to discern intersection of 2D line segments which brings about no inconsistency in the number of crossing points, and so we have applied it to 2D arcs. This paper introduces our algorithm, which uses only the relations of position between terminal points of one arc and original circle of another, and shows theoretically and experimentally that our algorithm almost satisfies the above requirement, and that the performance of our algorithm is better than the usual algorithm.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFThis paper reports on "the Training Course of the English Pronunciation through the Exaggerated Method" in Miyazaki Municipal University. This course is innovative and unique in the English Language Education in Japan. It is not only a pronunciation training course but a cross-cultural training course. Ms Ryoko Nakatsu, a famouse non-fiction writer in Japan, began this training about 20 years ago, but it has not been prevailed all over Japan. The author was trained by her 10 years ago. The author believes that the training course is good for the Japanese students of English Language as a communication tool.
