Enhancing Academic Writing through Digital Tools: A Systematic Review
The integration of digital tools in academic writing has significantly enhanced students' writing proficiency across various educational levels. Tools such as grammar checkers, citation managers, plagiarism detectors, and collaborative platforms help students produce more structured, academically compliant writing. These tools support technical skill development while also increasing educational accessibility, providing students from diverse backgrounds with greater opportunities to improve their writing abilities. AI-based writing assistants, in particular, help reduce grammatical errors and expand vocabulary, while multimodal technologies encourage creativity by enabling students to integrate visual and audio elements into their work. This literature review, using PRISMA and bibliometric analysis, synthesizes studies from 2019 to 2024, examining how digital tools impact writing clarity, adherence to academic standards, and structured argumentation. The review reveals that while digital tools significantly enhance writing skills, their overuse can result in a dependency that impairs the development of critical thinking and creativity—key components of strong writing. The implications of these findings stress the importance of digital literacy training within curricula, ensuring that students use digital tools responsibly and complement their writing skills with analytical and creative thinking. Additionally, professional development for educators is essential, enabling them to guide students in effectively integrating these tools. Ultimately, a balanced approach to digital tool use can enhance academic writing while contributing to the broader goal of fostering well-rounded, digitally literate learners

Cyberloafing Behaviors in Students’ Learning Process: EFL Teachers’ Efforts to Create Productive Learning Environment
The phenomenon of cyberloafing, where individuals engage in non-work-related online activities during productive hours, has become increasingly prevalent, particularly among students. This study investigates the impact of cyberloafing on students' learning processes, aiming to fill a research gap in understanding its effects on academic performance and classroom dynamics. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed to gather data through a questionnaire completed by 69 students selected via simple random sampling. To complement the quantitative data, qualitative insights were obtained from interviews with five randomly selected students. The survey explored the frequency and nature of cyberloafing activities, variables promoting such behavior, and its impacts. Analysis of the questionnaire data revealed that students engage in cyberloafing more frequently during classroom activities than during informational or leisure activities. Many students perceive cyberloafing as a means to alleviate classroom boredom. Interview findings indicated mixed outcomes: while some students reported reduced tension and boredom, others did not perceive any benefits and even noted a decline in productivity and focus. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by highlighting the dual nature of cyberloafing's impact. While it can serve as a coping mechanism to mitigate boredom and stress, it also has the potential to detract from academic performance. Understanding these dynamics can help educators and policymakers develop strategies to manage cyberloafing, promoting a more balanced and productive learning environment

Normative Ethics and Descriptive Ethics Concerning the Context of Politeness in the ondhagga Tradition in Madura
Language and ethics are intrinsically linked, with ethics playing a crucial role in ensuring politeness and recognizing social distinctions among speakers. One regional language rich in ethical traditions is Madurese, particularly through a practice known as ondhagga. This tradition emphasizes the importance of speech and grammar tailored to the social position of the person being addressed. In Madurese culture, the speaker must consider the listener's social status to appropriately use ondhagga forms. This research highlights two types of ethics within this tradition: normative and descriptive ethics. Normative ethics focuses on defining the behaviors and values that are considered morally good within a social group, guiding individuals on appropriate actions without making judgments. On the other hand, descriptive ethics describes existing behaviors and their meanings, offering insight into actions without prescribing standards. The study analyzed twenty conversational samples across various contexts using qualitative, phenomenological methods. Data was collected through documentation, and analysis was conducted using data reduction and presentation techniques. To ensure validity, the research employed data triangulation and credibility testing. The aim was to explain how normative and descriptive ethics operate within the ondhagga tradition. The findings emphasize the importance of ethical communication, tailored to context and situation. It underscores that ethics in a language not only applies to Madurese but is relevant across all languages and cultures. Ultimately, language ethics reflects our nobility as human beings, as it shapes respectful communication in everyday interactions
