Cognitive Domain in Emergency Situations
No full textThis study discusses the role and importance of the information domain and modern cognitive technologies in an emergency situation during the global pandemic, as well as problems caused by a lack of competencies, knowledge transfer, and insufficient investment in security and protection systems. Global threat response plans must take into consideration the “artificial” reality of our planetary state as a basis and to use it as a starting point for planning. Innovative institutions are trying to use cognitive web platforms and semantic systems to automate processes for solving a wide range of complex problems that require certain elements of knowledge. The model for management is associated with cognitive technologies, which in this case includes the recognition of images (meaning face recognition) and objects and their classification, the use of natural language, the generation of structured texts, information processing, sensors implanted into smart objects that read signals received by lines of the intelligent environment, and other forms of algorithmic computing that improve the quality of solutions in extreme situations. This requires a restructuring of organizations by moving from vertical hierarchies to horizontal networks

It is known that in his complicated transformation of the New Testament, the writer implants theosophical ideas in his narration radically changing the meaning and the message. Which is more, his incarnation of God is, in a strange way, evil and misanthropic. The interpretation shows closeness between passages of the novel and the book N. Rainov was translating at that time (1919) – Thus Spoke Zarathustra

The Development of The Labour Law of the European Union in 2019 – New Sources and New Perspectives for a More Reliable Legal Framework of Labour Relations. Part One: European Labour Authority – Establishment and Legal Characteristic
Get PDFIn 2019 the development of the labour law of the EU received a strong impetus. The questions of the EU social policy were among the leading activities of all EU institutions. Two acts in the field of EU social policy, adopted in 2019, attract attention because they are expected to have a structural role in the future development of European labour and social law. These are Regulation (EU) 2019/1149 and Directive (EU) 2019/1152. Both acts were adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure, both acts have an identical story about their adoption, and were not accidentally adopted on the same date and published in the same issue of the OJ of the EU. The adopted acts of the EU law in the social field are the logical final step in the multi-year progressive efforts for adequate coping with the many problems and challenges facing the internal market, incl. labour market, which became a reality in the second decade of the 21st century. Given the size of the normative content of both acts, their social and legal purpose and importance of labour law and social policy of the EU, it is necessary to analyse them separately. In the following lines, as part one of a more comprehensive study, will be presented the background and establishment of the European Labour Authority, as well as its legal characteristic – functions and bodies. Enhancing Student Motivation in ESP by Increasing the Level of Engagement: A Proposed Model
No full textThe article considers the opportunity to enhance student motivation in the acquisition of English for specific purposes by increasing the level of learner engagement. The authors propose to use an interdisciplinary approach by applying tools that have been approved in marketing theory and practice for the management of consumer involvement in the purchasing process and adapting them to teaching ESP to increase course effectiveness. Marketing literature analysis reveals two important points. The first one is that in classical marketing, the concepts of enduring involvement and situational involvement are used and combined together to form a complex consumer response. In modern marketing, this complex response is called consumer engagement. The second point is that situational involvement plays a key role in shaping the complex consumer response. The authors' suggestion is to use situational involvement as the major tool for boosting student motivation taking into consideration factors such as the specific features of the new generations and the growing use of modern technologies in everyday communication and learning. A description of model tasks is given to exemplify their interdisciplinary nature as well as observations related to their use in class supplemented by student feedback
