Shine a light – e-learning initiatives from two EU projects

    No full text
The paper presents ideas and initiatives from two ongoing Erasmus+ projects funded by the European Commission. Both projects use e-Learning as an enabler for communicating interesting and important learning contents that are believed to increase and improve employability prospects for the targeted groups of learners. The WINnovators project targets young women with reduced opportunities for quality education in different areas of STEM/STEAM and intends to demonstrate how their entrepreneurial skills can gradually grow by providing them with e-Learning incentives in such areas. The YNSPEED project intends to offer free MOOC courses addressing hot topics of modern society – artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and fake news. In the YNSPEED project, the target group of learners are young people (aged 16-29). It is believed that their interest in such important topics can be boosted by communicating the corresponding relevant learning content in a carefully designed way. The Shine a light metaphor is a common point and a common approach in both projects – e-Learning technology is used to facilitate informal education for the targeted learners and to indicate directions that often get either omitted or misunderstood in traditional schools

Tourism is considered to be an essential means of empowering women in the national, regional and global economy, presenting both opportunities for gender equality and women’s empowerment. However, the general lack of women’s empowerment worldwide calls for research. This paper investigates opportunities for women to improve their socioeconomic status through tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. Its methodology is based on qualitative research. A survey was conducted on a sample of 388 female respondents engaged within the tourism sector from these countries. The results are presented through descriptive methods, comparing the attitudes of women 18 to 65 years of age, their respective levels of education and barriers within entrepreneurship activities in tourism. The data obtained were analyzed in accordance with the objectives of this study and the research questions posed. It is found that training and further education, as well as providing financial assistance, would significantly assist women in opening their own tourism businesses within the region. The study also finds that women generally report financial support as a crucial factor in helping support businesses in the tourism sector

    No full text
Uvod/Cilj. Studijom je obuhvaćeno ukupno 164 učenika Srednje medicinske škole (80,5% ženskog i 19,5% muškog pola) i 344 studenta Medicinskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, Srbija (76,9% ženskog i 23,1% muškog pola). Background/Aim. To reduce the risk of burnout development in medical professionals, it is important to identify the contributing factors as early as in their schooling years. The aim of this study was to propose a model for determining the relationship between the coping strategies used by medical high school and medical faculty students and burnout. Methods. The cross-sectional study included 164 students of Medical High School (80.5% female and 19.5% male) and 344 students of the Faculty of Medicine University of Belgrade, Serbia (76.9% female and 23.1% male). The model exploring the relationship between coping strategies (measured by the Brief COPE scale) and burnout [measured by the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory-student version (CBI-S) scale] was tested using structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis. Results. When copied with stress, Medical High School students used Acceptance, Venting, Behavioural Disengagement, and Planning, which increased their burnout, but they did not use any strategies to help them reduce burnout. When copied with stress, Faculty of Medicine students used Planning, Acceptance, Humour, Venting, Behavioural Disengagement, Self-Blame, and Substance Use, which increased their burnout, and Positive Reframing, which helped them reduce burnout. Conclusion. The results of this research showed an evident lack of using adaptive coping strategies with both groups of respondents. Proper education could help them replace these dysfunctional coping strategies with constructive ones

Antecedents of University Entrepreneurship: Empirical Evidence from Serbian Public Universities

The aim of this paper is to portray the effects of individual entrepreneurial orientation of the faculty (professors, teaching assistants and researchers) on entrepreneurial outcomes and outputs of Serbian higher education institutions. Particular objective of the paper is to examine and explore how research mobilization, unconventionality, industry collaboration and university policies affect entrepreneurial outcomes ??? joint research agreements, contractual agreements, consulting activities, establishment of spin-offs and patenting. For this purpose, primary data were collected at Serbian public universities. In total, 552 respondents correctly fulfilled the questionnaire specifically designed to meet the purpose of the study. The results indicate that entrepreneurial orientation plays a statistically significant role in entrepreneurial outcomes. However, entrepreneurial orientation is more important in commercial than non-commercial research outcomes

Analysis of Cryptocurrency Market by Using q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Hypersoft Set Algorithm Based on Aggregation Operators

    No full text
One of the most important innovations brought by digitization is the cryptocurrency, also called virtual or digital currency, which has been discussed in recent years and in particular is a new platform for investors. Different types of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, and Tether do not depend on a central authority. Decision making is complicated by categorization and transmission of uncertainty, as well as verification of digital currency. The weighted average and weighted geometric aggregation operators are used in this article to define a multi-attribute decision-making approach. This work investigates the uniqueness of q-rung orthopair fuzzy hypersoft sets (q-ROFHSS), which respond to instabilities, uncertainty, ambiguity, and imprecise information. This research also covers some fundamental topics of q-ROFHSS. The model offered here is the best option for learning about electronic currency. This study validates the complexity of decision-making problems with different attributes and subattributes to obtain an optimal choice. We conclude that Bitcoin has a diverse set of applications and that crypto assets are well positioned to become an important asset class in decision making

Kritični faktori uspeha predstavljaju fokalnu tačku diskursa u oblasti uspeha softverskih projekata, kako u akademskim, tako i u krugovima profesionalaca u softverskoj industriji. The topic of critical success factors draws high attention of both academia and practitioners working in the software industry. Literature review shows that existing models of critical success factors for software projects are more concentrated on specific categories of success factors, neglecting the interaction that exists within these models between different groups of factors. The purpose of this paper is to present a new concept of interaction-based model for identification and evaluation of critical success factors for software projects. The approach is based on conjoint use of graph theory and Design Structure Matrices to highlight important interactions of a project system. The key result of the paper is the tool for evaluation of the interaction between critical success factors through quantification and the analysis of the possible propagation of specific factor within project success factor network, which will make possible the identification of the critical factors with the highest influence on the entire project system

    No full text
Digital transformation is becoming more ingrained into everyday life and is a talking point among researchers today. It has been evident from the growing number of publications that have focused on various aspects of digital transformation in the last few years. Based on the number of papers published, one of them is of much less interest to researchers: the managerial role of Chief Digital Officer (CDO) inherent in digital transformation. Having this in mind, a systematic literature review was conducted to elucidate the CDO's role, duties, and required competencies. In this paper, the results and conclusions of 22 papers are presented based on the search criteria outlined by the Web of Science and Scopus index databases. It is obvious that managing digital transformation is becoming more important as digital transformation affects almost every sector of business. The purpose of this study is to examine the position of Chief Digital Officer in terms of its position, role, and responsibilities as well as its necessary competencies. The results of this study could serve as the basis for future research in this area, which judging by the relevance of the topic, will certainly be more intensive

Towards a Triple Helix based efficiency index of innovation systems

    No full text
This article presents a novel application of a two-phase Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for evaluating the efficiency of innovation systems based on the Triple Helix neo-evolutionary model. The authors identify a niche to measure Triple Helix-based efficiency of innovation systems scrutinizing different methodologies for measuring Triple Helix performance and indicating different perspectives on policy implications. The paper presents a new Triple Helix-based index that engages a comprehensive dataset and helps provide useful feedback to policymakers. It is based on a set of 19 indicators collected from the official reports of 34 OECD countries and applied in a two-phase DEA model: the indicators are aggregated into pillars according to the Assurance Region Global and DEA super-efficiency model; pillar scores are aggregated according to the Benefit-of-the-Doubt based DEA model. The results provide a rank of 34 countries outlining strengths and weaknesses of each observed innovation system. The research implies a variable set of weights to be a major advantage of DEA allowing less developed countries to excel in evaluating innovation systems efficiency. The results of Triple Helix efficiency index measurement presented in this paper help better account for the European Innovation Paradox
