Multi-objective Intuitionistic Fuzzy Linear Programming model for optimization of industrial closed-loop supply chain network
The urge to remanufacture and address environmental concerns in various industrial processes has drawn the attention of academics as well as practitioners towards Closed-loop Supply Chain Networks ( CLSC). Although everchanging and complex external factors including social and economic ones, adversely impact the sustainable development of closed-loop supply chain networks. The basic aim of the research is to optimize the functioning of CLSC networks. For the above-said, two objective functions are made. The first objective is to minimize the cost of production and assembly expenses of the forward and reverse logistics. Secondly, an endeavour has been made to reduce the fixed costs associated with plants and retailers. For the sake of achieving two objective functions, two methods are employed: triangular fuzzy numbers and triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. Among the two methods, triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers achieved the said objectives with greater optimization substantiated by statistics. This method can deal with uncertain external factors without undermining the optimization of the CLSC networks
Industry 4.0: Limitation or benefit for success?
This concept considerably influences the outcomes of businesses by increasing cost-effectiveness, quality, and effectiveness. However, studies on performance outcomes of Industry 4.0 in Serbia are still scarce. The available literature mainly deals with papers that observe Industry 4.0 from only one point of view, most often positive or negative effects on business success. A literature gap was observed that would fulfil the observed Industry 4.0 from two opposite aspects, positive or negative. To overcome the literature gap, this paper aims to observe if Industry 4.0 is perceived as facilitating or limiting for business success. The study provides a more objective approach to observing and decision-making in Industry 4.0 acceptance. To support this contribution, the paper provide a deeper analysis of the factors that impact the financial, operational, and strategic performance outcomes associated with Industry 4.0. Considered factors are attitude toward digitalization, limitations of digitalization, and expected benefits of digitalization. The results gathered through 134 valid questionnaires are evaluated using Structural Equation Model. These results show that all relationships and impacts are confirmed except the influence of internal limitations on performance outcomes. These findings are encouraging for companies wanting to transfer to Industry 4.0
A fuzzy soft approach toward power influences in supply chain performance in Electronics Manufacturing Industry
Companies create supply chains (SC) to gain added value, but collaborative relationships don't do not mean they all receive a balanced share of this value due to power asymmetry. The success of an SC depends on its ability to deliver the required products/services to the customer with specific quality and characteristics on time and in the right place. We study SC performance measures as the decision-making criteria given the primary goal of profit maximization in SC management. Different kinds of power are classified, and a process is proposed to choose the most appropriate form of power for companies at each level of SC. Using a mixed Best-Worst Method (BWM) Fuzzy soft set approach, the suitable power form for each company is determined. The results show there is not one best power form to be prescribed for all firms, so each company may need different strategies to achieve different power positions depending on its relationship with other SC echelons. We also present a sensitivity analysis to demonstrate the robustness of our proposed approach
Participatory Budgeting in Serbia
Recently, almost all European countries have to some extent embraced the concept of direct citizen participation in the public finance decision-making process. Serbia, however, is significantly behind the other (Western) European countries in the development of democratic capacities. Nonetheless, some early evidence of the ‘direct democracy’ can be found among the local self-governments of Serbia. This chapter aims to analyse contextual factors of participatory budgeting, explain the modus operandi, analyse the funds used for the participatory budgeting programmes, analyse the processes conducted to date, and delineate the main outcomes. As the results of the study indicate, participatory budgeting and direct democracy are still in the infantile phase of development
Incorporating data-driven weights into Elite Quality index: mapping the areas of improvement for prospective reports
The elite quality represents an emerging, highly effective approach to examining a country's prosperity potential. It is mainly founded on a methodology that begins with collecting relevant, up-to-date datasets from numerous different organizations and sources. Moreover, the aim of developing such an innovative approach lies in supporting value creation business models in elite national systems. A better understanding of business potentials, predicting the future need for material resources, objective representation of current political and economic situation, and indicated fluctuations throughout mid-term intervals are some of the numerous aspects covered with this index. Generally speaking, the Elite Quality (EQ) index is divided into its Power and Value parts, whilst both consist of political and economic factors. As a composite index, the EQ index is a mixture of numerous indicators combined into one single value representing the rank of each country whose institutions had the researchers provided with necessary data. Since the index was drafted using the expert-driven weighting scheme, a place for improvement exists in terms of methodological robustness of the EQ index. Therefore, this paper aims to add value to the observed phenomenon by implementing a statistical I-distance approach. This approach allows us to shed light on the accountability and sensitivity of the country's ranks. Also, it enables in-depth findings considering the importance of each underlying indicator for the process of ranking. Furthermore, our corresponding results show the significant correlation between
EQ index methodology and I-distance methodology that appreciates this index as a valuable research tool i
