Honey bee (Apis mellifera) wing images: a tool for identification and conservation
Abstract
Background
The honey bee (Apis mellifera) is an ecologically and economically important species that provides pollination services to natural and agricultural systems. The biodiversity of the honey bee in parts of its native range is endangered by migratory beekeeping and commercial breeding. In consequence, some honey bee populations that are well adapted to the local environment are threatened with extinction. A crucial step for the protection of honey bee biodiversity is reliable differentiation between native and nonnative bees. One of the methods that can be used for this is the geometric morphometrics of wings. This method is fast, is low cost, and does not require expensive equipment. Therefore, it can be easily used by both scientists and beekeepers. However, wing geometric morphometrics is challenging due to the lack of reference data that can be reliably used for comparisons between different geographic regions.
Findings
Here, we provide an unprecedented collection of 26,481 honey bee wing images representing 1,725 samples from 13 European countries. The wing images are accompanied by the coordinates of 19 landmarks and the geographic coordinates of the sampling locations. We present an R script that describes the workflow for analyzing the data and identifying an unknown sample. We compared the data with available reference samples for lineage and found general agreement with them.
Conclusions
The extensive collection of wing images available on the Zenodo website can be used to identify the geographic origin of unknown samples and therefore assist in the monitoring and conservation of honey bee biodiversity in Europe
Prediction of the impact of land use and soil type on concentrations of heavy metals and phthalates in soil based on model simulation
The main objective of this study is to determine the possibility of predicting the impact
of land use and soil type on concentrations of heavy metals (HMs) and phthalates (PAEs) in soil
based on an artificial neural network model (ANN). Qualitative analysis of HMs was performed
with inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectrometry (ICP/OES) and Direct Mercury
Analyzer. Determination of PAEs was performed with gas chromatography (GC) coupled with a
single quadrupole mass spectrometry (MS). An ANN, based on the Broyden–Fletcher–Goldfarb–
Shanno (BFGS) iterative algorithm, for the prediction of HM and PAE concentrations, based on land use and soil type parameters, showed good prediction capabilities (the coefficient of determination (r2) values during the training cycle for HM concentration variables were 0.895, 0.927, 0.885, 0.813, 0.883, 0.917, 0.931, and 0.883, respectively, and for PAEs, the concentration variables were 0.950,0.974, 0.958, 0.974, and 0.943, respectively). The results of this study indicate that HM and PAE concentrations, based on land use and soil type, can be predicted using ANN

Ekološka sertifikacija proizvoda i implementacija sistema eko-
loškog menadžmenta su ključne komponente ulaganja u održivu ekonomi-
ju. Iako predstavljaju ekonomske izazove, oni takođe nude brojne predno-
sti i mogućnosti za preduzeća i ukupnu ekonomiju. Glavni cilj ovog rada
je da da pregled uključenih ekonomskih izazova i potencijalnog povrata
ulaganja u održivu ekonomiju: troškovi usklađenosti, pristup tržištu i di-
ferencijacija, operativna efikasnost, inovacije i razvoj proizvoda, otpornost
lanca snabdevanja, pristup finansiranju i podsticaji, usklađenost sa propi-
sima i smanjenje rizika, poboljšani odnosi sa zainteresovanim stranama,
itd. Prevazilaženje neizbežnih prepreka, kao što su troškovi unapred, slože-
nost i administrativne procedure, ograničeni standardi i opcije sertifikacije
u zemljama u razvoju, zainteresovane strane u industriji i jedinice lokal-
ne samouprave strateški odlučuju da vode svoje zajednice u pravcu zele-
ne ekonomije. Ekološka sertifikacija proizvoda i implementacija sistemaekološkog menadžmenta predstavljaju ekonomske izazove, predstavljaju
značajne mogućnosti za poslovanje i privredu u celini. Ulaganjem u odr-
živu ekonomiju, preduzeća mogu pristupiti novim tržištima, diferencirati
se, poboljšati operativnu efikasnost, pokrenuti inovacije, poboljšati otpor-
nost lanca snabdevanja i pristupiti finansiranju i podsticajima. Štaviše, oni

Circular economy in the Republic of Serbia
The world's population will be 9.2 billion by 2050, according to the United Nations (UN).46. Today, around 50% of the world's population 3.6 billion, is middle class and prediction is 5.3 billion people by 2030. Life standard rising will directly mean consumption rising, so demand for goods with more resources. Lacy and along with the other authors predict that global demand is expected to
increase by 35% for food, 40% for water and 50% for energy by 2030. Human beings consume about 1.75 times the capacity of the Earth, or 75% more natural resources than are renewed each year. Human's appetite for scarce resources is expected to grow in the coming decades. The UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and stay within the boundaries outlined in the Paris Agreement. The Circular economy (CE) 47 presents model that is being obligation, if this generation would like to leave something for next generations, and this paper presents movement
to circular model in the Westren Balkan 48 countries. This paper will present some of activities in the field of reaching model of circualr economy in The Republic of Serbia

Life cycle assessment (LCA) of microplastics in the environment
Microplastic (MP) pollution is one of the most pressing environmental problems of
the 21st century. In the EU, between 75.000 and 300.000 tons of MP are released
into the environment every year. MP are ubiquitous, being found in seas, lakes, rivers
and estuaries, air, sediments, landfills, and wastewater treatment plants because of
improper human disposal of plastics and inadequate waste management. Life cycle
assessment (LCA) is frequently promoted as a tool to assess environmental impact.
LCA is regulated in accordance with ISO 14040 and implies a process that examines
environmental aspects and potential environmental impacts on the product or
service life cycle. While LCA is a valuable environmental tool, its application to MP
has not been sufficiently developed and investigated. The purpose of this paper is to
critically review the LCA modeling of MP. Several leading LCA software were
analyzed. Based on the conducted research, it was concluded that there are very few
databases used by LCA software, which can be connected to MP. In addition, it was
concluded that for these types of analysis, it is best to observe the life cycle of plastic
waste, focusing on the concept according to which waste is considered a resource
