Negotiation as a means of resolving international disputes
Resolving international disputes through negotiations is achieved by sending messages to the opposing party, which leads to a change in attitudes and behavior, thereby achieving their reorientation in accordance with the negotiator's interests. The basic condition for conducting negotiations is direct communication between the opposing parties.
Negotiation is a two-way communication aimed at reaching an agreement between parties that have interests that they share or that are opposed to each other, in this direction, negotiation is seen as a means of resolving international disputes in this work
The relationship between physical activity and mental health: Is more always better?
The current study was designed to examine the relationship between physical activity and mental health. We investigated whether individuals who perceive themselves as physically inactive, recreationists, or active athletes differ in positive (positive affect, subjective well-being, unconditional self-acceptance) and negative mental health outcomes (depression, anxiety, stress, negative affect, conditional self-acceptance). Furthermore, we investigated whether the total level of leisure-time physical activity predicted different mental health indicators. Analysis revealed that physically active respondents (recreationists and active athletes) seem to have better overall mental health status than physically inactive ones. Precisely, physically inactive individuals scored higher on all measures of negative mental health indicators, and lower on all measures of positive mental health indicators, compared with the participants from the two other groups. At the same time, there were no significant differences in these measures between recreationists and active athletes. Besides, apositive association was found between the weekly frequency of leisure-time activity and only two positive indicators of mental health (positive affect and subjective well-being)of all tested. The obtained results suggest that it is often more relevant for mental health whether someone is physically active or not, in general, than how frequently they exercise
School-Based Circuit Training Intervention Improves Local Muscular Endurance in Primary School Students : A Randomized Controlled Trial
Abstract: Background: This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of a 12-week circuit training
program in improving local muscular endurance in normal-weighted primary school students.
Methods: The study involved a parallel-group randomized trial with 606 primary school boys
assigned to an experimental or a control group. The participants underwent a 12-week circuit training
program that involved multi-joint, total-body workouts using body weight, resistance bands, and
medicine ball exercises. The study measured the participants’ local muscular endurance during
sit-ups, dynamic trunk extensions on a Roman bench (DTE), and push-ups. Results: After adjusting
for the baseline, the treatment–grade interaction was significant for sit-ups (F = 7.74, p < 0.001,

2 = 0.04), DTE (F = 6.49, p < 0.001, hp
2 = 0.03), and push-ups (F = 9.22, p < 0.001, hp
2 = 0.05),
where the experimental treatment was more beneficial than the control. The treatment effect seemed
to vary depending on the individual’s baseline local muscle endurance capacity. As the baseline
local muscular endurance values increased, the treatment and grade effects became less beneficial.
Conclusion: A 12-week circuit training program involving body weight, resistance bands, and
medicine ball exercises suits school-based programs and can improve local muscular endurance in
normal-weighted primary school boys. The experimental treatment was more effective than the
control, and the individual baseline muscular endurance should be considered when designing
training programs
Proximity to riverbed influences physiological response of adult pedunculate oak trees
The pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) is economically and ecologically one of the most
significant tree species in Serbia, however, little is known about the influence of the riverbed distance and its water supply on ecophysiological responses of this species. Given the limited information on the light-response curve of photosynthesis for oaks in southwest Srem, Serbia, the aim of this paper is to enhance understanding of their ecophysiological responses in this context. Maximum assimilation rate (Amax), the quantum yield (Ф), and light compensation point (LCP) were compared in adult trees situated along the transect from the river: (1) close to the river, (2) intermediate, (3) farthest from the river, and (4) forest reserve (second closest), with the first three transects being managed forests and the last one being an unmanaged forest reserve. The measurements were conducted in July during the first evidence of drought. The highest Amax rates were measured in all light intensities on the site closest to the river and the smallest on the site that was most distant to the water source. The most efficient were trees close to the river and the ones in the forest reserve. No significant difference between compensation points was confirmed for the studied groups of trees, although the forest reserve trees showed slightly higher values. The results demonstrated clear response between transects, which followed the distance from the riverbed. Pedunculate oak's reliance on groundwater is in tight relation with ecophysiological processes in trees; groundwater depletion may threaten its survival in areas distant from the river
Inadequate municipal solid waste management and occurrence of phthalate esters in soil in Serbia
An increase in urban population and the rising demand for food and
other essentials, perpetuate a rise in the amount of waste being
generated daily by each household. In the Republic of Serbia,
landfilling is the principal action for the municipal solid waste disposal.
Landfills receive plenty of plastic waste generated from daily usage.
Municipal solid waste in landfills may act as a reservior of
microplastics (MPs) and related pollutants such as phthalate esters
(PAEs) into surrounding environment.
This study illustrated considerable PAEs levels from an uncontrolled
landfill without adequate protection, possibly contributing to their
release into the environment in the Republic of Serbia
Актуелни безбедносни изазови Републике Србије у савременом глобалном сукобу истока и запада
Актуелни безбедносни изазови који се непосредно односе на простор Западног
Балкана, првенствено укључујући Републику Србију, веома су различити и комплексни.
То првенствено укључује геополитичке тензије, криминалне активности, тероризам,
нарушавање територијалног интегритета и миграције.
У раду се описују најзначајнији елементи безбедносних изазова са којима се Република
Србија суочава у актуелном тренутку сукоба Истока и Запада. Глобални сукоб између
Истока и Запада има додатне импликације на безбедност, а односи са великим светским
силама могу бити кључни фактори у одређивању правца развоја безбедносних изазова у
Републици Србији и околним земљама.
У раду се тежишно разматрају аспекти геополитичког положаја Републике Србије,
питања Косова и Метохије, информациона безбедност Републике Србије, економски из-
азови Републике Србије и илегална миграција и кријумчарење људи. Да би се разумело ак-
туелно стање, важно је напоменути да су поменути елементи у сталној промени и бит-
но је пратити информације из релевантних извора, како би се располагало актуелним
информацијама о безбедносним питањима у Републици Србији
Circular economy and eco-innovation indicators as imputs for EU sustainable development strategies
The overall aim of the EU Sustainable Development Strategy was to identify and develop actions
to enable the EU to achieve a continuous long-term improvement of quality of life through the
creation of sustainable communities able to manage and use resources efficiently. Based on
ecological and social innovations, circular economy, as an economic model that aims to keep
resources in use for as long as possible by reducing waste, reusing products and materials, and
recycling them at the end of their life, has substantial potential to improve policy strategies in the
future. Major environmental challenges faced by many countries around the world could be mitigated with key benefits of a circular economy, helping to reduce waste and pollution. The
European Union has recognized the importance of eco-innovations as a key driver of sustainable
development and has implemented various policies and initiatives to implement the principles of
circular economy in practice. Eco-innovation refers to the development and implementation of new
technologies, products, and services that have a positive environmental impact while also
contributing to economic growth. The subject of this paper is the analysis of the impact of
measuring circular economy indicators on sustainable development goals for easier definition of
sustainable development strategies and policies in developing countries. The goal of this work is to
support the initiative of joint synergistic action of all actors based on the principle of the quintuple
helix concept and to make contribution for initiating those actions at the local and regional levels
