Iluminacje: Sztuka jako forma poznania
No full textThe presented book concerns the phenomenon of art, but its approach radically differs from the usual reflection on it. The author maintains that art is—like all human artifacts—historical, but its immaterial essence, is no longer historical. In other words, he suggests that what is most important in art is not only difficult (if at all) to conceptualize; something more: he claims that this essence transcends, in a way that is difficult to explain, the historical time of its creation. In other words, art is, by its very nature, transhistorical. Or, to borrow a philosophical dictionary entry: metaphysical—in the full semantic scope of the adjective. The way art manifests itself changes with history (the very concept of art is also historical!), but this circumstance, the author suggests, belongs to the realm of accidents. They have no major influence on what is decisive in the experience of art.
The book\u27s fundamental thesis is the explicit conviction that, in its highest realizations, art is a fully fledged instrument of knowledge. In other words, it is not beauty (Kant\u27s belief) that defines its value, but truth (Heidegger\u27s suggestion). In his original anthropological proposal, the author presents creativity animated by the desire to discover a reality unattainable in everyday cognition, as well as in scientific knowledge. Citing specific examples (from poetry, painting, music, and film), he reveals the sphere of poiesis as a space of true ontophany: a stunning and breathtaking revelation of reality, both visible and invisible.Książka dotyczy fenomenu sztuki, ale jej ujęcie radykalnie odbiega od zwyczajowej refleksji na jej temat. Autor utrzymuje, że sztuka jest – jak wszystkie ludzkie artefakty – historyczna, ale to, czym sztuka jest w istocie, jej niematerialna esencja, historyczna już nie jest. Innymi słowy: sugeruje, że to, co w sztuce najistotniejsze nie tylko z trudem (o ile: w ogóle! If at all) poddaje się konceptualizacji, ale coś więcej: twierdzi, że owa esencja wykracza, w trudny do wytłumaczenia sposób, poza historyczny czas powstania. Że innymi słowy: ze swej istoty sztuka jest transhistoryczna. Albo powołując hasło ze słownika filozoficznego: metafizyczna – w całej semantycznej rozciągłości tego przymiotnika. Sposób przejawiania się sztuki zmienia się wraz z historią (samo pojęcie sztuki też jest historyczne!), ale to wszystko, sugeruje Autor, należy do sfery akcydensów. Nie mają one większego wpływu na to, co naprawdę stanowi o tym, co w doświadczeniu sztuki najistotniejsze.
Główną tezą książki jest jawnie wyrażone przekonanie, że w swych najwyższych realizacjach sztuka jest pełnoprawnym instrumentem poznania. Inaczej mówiąc: to nie piękno jest naczelną wartością (przekonanie Kanta), która opisuje jej wartość, ale – prawda (sugestia Heideggera). W swojej oryginalnej propozycji antropologicznej Autor pokazuje twórczość ożywianą pragnieniem odkrycia rzeczywistości nieosiągalnej w poznaniu potocznym a także w poznaniu naukowym. Przywołując konkretne przykłady z dziedziny poezji, malarstwa, muzyki i filmu, odsłania sferę poiesis jako przestrzeń prawdziwej ontofanii: porażającego swą mocą objawienia rzeczywistości widzialnej i niewidzialnej
Podróż surrealistyczna, czyli o twórczości Joanny Wiszniewskiej-Domańskiej
No full textJoanna Wiszniewska-Domańska\u27s work is characterized by an original formula of graphic / figurative drawing, combining references primarily to the European surrealism of the first half of the 20th century (f.e. René Magritte, Giorgio de Chirico, Jean Jacques Folon). The figurativeness of the artist\u27s work oscillates between a "disturbed" reality, an almost ascetic yet expressive line, and a story told - a legible, moving, questioning the meaning of the choices made, the value of human life.
The book is dedicated to the fates, creativity and artistic fascinations of the painter, graphic designer and draughtswoman. The artist has linked her life and work with Lodz, with the Baluty, which - to a certain extent, as it were, organically and at the same time involuntarily, through osmosis - gave and continues to give the shape of a "surrealist city" - the “Paper City”. The artist\u27s role in art is understood as a kind of "transfer" of inner experiences, memory through the melancholy present in her works, a longing expressed in the recurring motif of the distant horizon, turned back to the viewer of a lonely man with the inherent travelling baggage, emblems of childhood (glass balls, balloons, banners, scattered toys).
Wiszniewska-Domańska\u27s work expresses, referring to Zen philosophy (haiku poetry), a similar wonder and miracle at the connections that exist between the individual and its habitat. These sharp graphics, sometimes subtly colored, are characterized by meditativeness, a focus leading to the sublimation of spiritual exercises. The reversal of the central figure (the man in dark clothing), its literal “closure”, its turning inward express calmness, control, but also a certain state of tension and hesitation that accompany the person in the moment just before making an important decision.
The graphics, drawings, collages, spatial works, consistent in their style and content, that Wiszniewska-Domańska has been creating for several decades, constitute a special record of her travel diary - those authentic and those dreamed, imagined and felt. Each card is an attempt to capture an event, a sequence of associations, a thought or a dream, becoming a notebook containing autobiographical fragments, a picture of returns to events from the past, to the secret history (her own - E.J.) of the soul.Twórczość Joanny Wiszniewskiej-Domańskiej cechuje się oryginalną formułą grafiki / rysunku figuratywnego, łączących w sobie nawiązania przede wszystkim do surrealizmu europejskiego pierwszej połowy XX wieku (René Magritte, Giorgio de Chirico, Jean Jacques Folon). Figuratywność prac artystki oscyluje między „zakłóconą” realnością, niemal ascetyczną acz wyrazistą kreską a opowiadaną historią – czytelną, wzruszającą, stawiającą pytania o sens dokonywanych wyborów, o wartość ludzkiego życia. Książka poświęcona jest losom, twórczości i artystycznym fascynacjom malarki, graficzki i rysowniczki. Artystka swe życie i twórczość związała z Łodzią, z łódzkimi Bałutami, którym – w pewnym stopniu, niejako organicznie a jednocześnie mimowolnie, przez osmozę – dała i nadal nadaje kształt „miasta surrealistycznego” – Papierowego miasta. Artystka rolę sztuki rozumie jako swoiste „przeniesienie” wewnętrznych doświadczeń, pamięci poprzez obecną w jej pracach melancholię, tęsknotę wyrażane w powtarzającym się motywie odległego horyzontu, odwróconego tyłem do widza samotnego człowieka z nieodłącznym bagażem podróżnym, emblematami dzieciństwa (szklane kulki, baloniki, chorągiewki, rozrzucone zabawki). Prace Wiszniewskiej-Domańskiej wyrażają, nawiązujący do filozofii zen (poezja haiku) podobny zachwyt i zdumienie nad powiązaniami istniejącymi między jednostką i jej habitatem. Te ostre w swej formalnej oszczędności grafiki, niekiedy subtelnie podkolorowane, charakteryzuje medytacyjność, skupienie prowadzące ku sublimacji ćwiczeń duchowych. Odwrócenie centralnej postaci (mężczyzna w ciemnym ubraniu), jej dosłowne „zamknięcie”, zwrócenie ku własnemu wnętrzu wyrażają spokój, opanowanie, ale również pewien stan napięcia i wahania, jakie towarzyszą człowiekowi w chwili tuż przed podjęciem ważnej decyzji. Grafiki, rysunki, kolaże, prace przestrzenne, konsekwentne w swej stylistyce i treści, które Wiszniewska-Domańska tworzy od kilkudziesięciu lat, stanowią szczególny zapis jej dziennika podróży – tych autentycznych i tych wyśnionych, wyobrażonych i przeczuwanych. Każda karta to próba uchwycenia zdarzenia, ciągu skojarzeń, myśli albo snu, stających się notatnikiem zawierającym fragmenty autobiograficzne, obraz powrotów do wydarzeń z przeszłości, do sekretnej historii (własnej – E.J.) duszy

No full textIn the late Middle Ages, natural philosophy focused primarily on the analysis of Aristotle’s works, along with Averroes’ commentaries. Among other works, Aristotle’s Physics was taught at universities, and commentaries on it were the result of such classes.
The present book is the result of the lectures of Richard Kilvington (ca. 1302-1361), one of the founders of the so-called School of Oxford Calculators, English scholars active in the mid-14th century. The volume contains a critical edition of Richard Kilvington’s Questions on the Physics from Latin manuscripts, provided with footnotes referring to the sources used by Kilvington, as well as to the works of his contemporaries. The edition is preceded by an introduction presenting the arguments for the reconstruction of this commentary and the history of the manuscripts containing Kilvington’s questions.
This extensive commentary, which the author reconstructed on the basis of manuscript evidence, consists of eight so-called disputed questions. Kilvington discusses almost all the topics covered by Aristotle in his works on natural philosophy and the theory of knowledge, and logical considerations also occupy a considerable space. Kilvington is mainly interested in issues related to: the formation of complex material bodies, which occurs primarily in the process of mixing, the problem of describing the rules of local motion, and the conditions that determine such motion, i.e. the concepts of time, space, and vacuum. Kilvington’s commentary is an original, sometimes innovative interpretation of the theories of Aristotle and Averroes. It was quoted many times and was an inspiration for contemporary and later thinkers. The research achievements of these thinkers contributed to the development of modern natural philosophy.W dojrzałym średniowieczu filozofia przyrody w dużej mierze skupiona była na analizach dzieł Arystotelesa wraz z komentarzami Averroesa. Na uniwersytetach wykładano między innymi Fizykę Arystotelesa, a rezultatem tych takich zajęć były komentarze do tego dzieła. Prezentowana tutaj książka zawiera wydanie krytyczne z rękopisów łacińskich Kwestii do „Fizyki” Ryszarda Kilvingtona (ca. 1302-1361), opatrzone przypisami odwołującymi się do źródeł, z których korzystał Kilvington, a także do prac współczesnych mu myślicieli. Wydanie poprzedza wstęp dokumentujący zasadność rekonstrukcji tego komentarza oraz historię rękopisów zawierających kwestie.
Na ten obszerny komentarz, który został przez autorkę zrekonstruowany na podstawie świadectw rękopiśmiennych, składa się osiem tzw. kwestii dyskutowanych. Kilvington omawia w nich niemalże wszystkie zagadnienia poruszane przez Arystotelesa w jego pracach dotyczący filozofii przyrody oraz teorii poznania, sporo miejsca zajmują także rozważania logiczne. Szczególne zainteresowanie Kilvingtona budzą zagadnienia związane z: powstawianiem złożonych ciał materialnych zachodzącym przede wszystkim w procesie mieszania, problemem opisu reguł dotyczących ruchu lokalnego, oraz warunków jakie muszą zachodzić, aby ruch taki miał miejsce, czyli koncepcji czasu, miejsca, próżni. Komentarz Kilvingtona jest oryginalną, czasami nowatorską interpretacją koncepcji Arystotelesa i Awerroesa. Był on wielokrotnie cytowany i stanowił inspirację dla współczesnych mu i późniejszych myślicieli
Deprecjacja francuskich asygnat w latach 1789–1796: Uwarunkowania ekonomiczno-społeczne
No full textThe work examines the problem of depreciation of French assignats in the years 1789–1796. In the studied period, the value of assignats changed, and their exchange rate underwent both depreciation and appreciation. By February 19, 1796, when assignat printing presses, stamps, and matrices were publicly destroyed in Place Vendôme, revolutionary banknotes had lost approximately 99.7% of their value. The history of assignats exemplifies the process of issuing paper money to cover state expenses, which led to a complete depreciation of the issued banknotes in the years following their first issuance in 1789.
This paper aims at presenting the depreciation of French assignats in the years 1789–1796, as well as identifying and discussing its determinants, particularly economic and social. The following detailed objectives were defined to help achieve the main objective:
identification of the factors affecting the value of assignats;
formulation of the “depreciation” dependent variable, as well as potential independent variables;
development of causal econometric models of assignat depreciation in France and in the Bouches-du-Rhône department;
validation and statistical verification of the constructed models.
Main hypothesis and research questions were developed based on a critical analysis of source material and literature review, as well as the main objective and detailed objectives formulated in the paper. The main research hypothesis of the paper is as follows: the depreciation of French assignats was determined by their issuance, sale of national assets, the introduction of the Law of the General Maximum, as well as military activities conducted by the French revolutionary army.Przedmiotem pracy jest zjawisko deprecjacji francuskich asygnat w latach 1789–1796. W badanym okresie wartość asygnat zmieniała się, ich kurs podlegał zarówno deprecjacji jak i aprecjacji. Do 19 lutego 1796 roku, kiedy prasy do druku asygnat, stemple i matryce, zostały uroczyście zniszczone na placu Vendôme, rewolucyjne banknoty straciły ok. 99,7% swojej wartości. Historia asygnat jest przykładem emisji pieniądza papierowego, w celu pokrycia wydatków państwa, która doprowadziła w kolejnych latach od pierwszej emisji w 1789 roku do całkowitej deprecjacji emitowanych banknotów.
Głównym celem pracy jest przedstawienie deprecjacji francuskich asygnat w latach 1789–1796 oraz wskazanie i omówienie czynników, które ją determinowały, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem uwarunkowań ekonomiczno-społecznych. Głównemu celowi pracy zostały przyporządkowane następujące cele szczegółowe:
Identyfikacja czynników oddziałujących na kurs asygnat;
Stworzenie zmiennej objaśnianej „deprecjacja” oraz potencjalnych zmiennych objaśniających;
Skonstruowanie przyczynowo-skutkowych ekonometrycznych modeli deprecjacji asygnat we Francji oraz w departamencie Bouches-du-Rhône;
Dokonanie weryfikacji merytorycznej i statystycznej skonstruowanych modeli.
Na podstawie krytycznej analizy materiału źródłowego i przeglądu literatury przedmiotu, celu głównego i celów szczegółowych przyjętych w pracy sformułowano hipotezę główną i pytania badawcze. Główna hipoteza badawcza pracy brzmi: deprecjacja francuskich asygnat determinowana była przez ich emisję, sprzedaż dóbr narodowych, wprowadzenie powszechnego maksimum oraz działania wojenne prowadzone przez francuskie wojska rewolucyjne

No full textDzięki zebranym opowieściom powstaje zapis procesu konstruowania tożsamości Krzywca po II wojnie światowej. Narracje składające się na książkę nie stanowią jednak zbioru podobnie brzmiących głosów opisujących podobne historie, co świadczy m.in. o wielowymiarowości kulturowego dziedzictwa Krzywca. W pamięci mieszkańców wciąż obecne są ślady spuścizny poniemieckiej, kresowej, ale także wielu innych historycznych i kulturowych wątków. Ukazane przez badaczy podejście, widoczne w projekcie i obecne w będącej jego rezultatem publikacji, uznaje prawo mieszkańców do współdecydowania o tym, co powinno zostać przedstawione jako ich dziedzictwo.

Ukazane przez badaczy podejście, widoczne w projekcie i obecne w będącej jego rezultatem publikacji, uznaje prawo mieszkańców do współdecydowania o tym, co powinno zostać przedstawione jako ich dziedzictwo.

Interes prawny jako przesłanka powództwa
No full textKsiążka zawiera analizę roli interesu prawnego ‒ jego dopuszczalności oraz zasadności jako przesłanki powództwa. Pomimo braku wyraźnych przepisów wskazujących na konieczność posiadania interesu prawnego w powództwie, jego obecność jest niezbędna dla możliwości osiągnięcia celów procesu cywilnego. Autor opowiada się za uznaniem interesu prawnego w powództwie za przesłankę procesową dopuszczalności wniesienia powództwa oraz rozstrzygnięcia sprawy, co korzystnie wpłynęłoby na ekonomikę procesową zarówno w zakresie czasu postępowania jak i ograniczeniu jego kosztów.
W opracowaniu szczegółowo omówiono m.in. takie kwestie, jak:
- pojęcie interesu prawego,
- relacja interesu prawnego w odniesieniu do innych instytucji tworzących prawo do rzetelnego procesu cywilnego,
- rozróżnienie przesłanek merytorycznych uwzględnienia powództwa oraz przesłanek procesowych jego dopuszczalności w kontekście interesu prawnego,
- przypadki, w których powód posiada interes prawny (lub go nie posiada) w wytaczanym powództwie ‒ w zależności od jego rodzaju.
W książce przedstawiono również propozycje zmian w przepisach, w tym możliwość wprowadzenia ustawowej definicji interesu prawnego oraz modyfikacji przepisów, umożliwiających szybsze rozstrzyganie spraw związanych z brakiem interesu prawnego.
