    Get PDF
Government systems in different countries have experienced a vital evolution, particularly in public service delivery. Blockchain introduced innovation in the e-government system by emphasizing the transparency of transactions, immutability, and identity management. This study uses a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis to address the benefits and challenges of adopting blockchain in e-government systems. The results encourage government officials and citizens to adopt blockchain for accomplishing government activities. A total of 219 scholarly research papers from the major research databases, i.e., Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and ACM were scrutinized to be selected into 18 relevant publications for full-text reporting using PRISMA flowchart. Bibliographic data were accumulated and investigated accordingly to construct network visualization using VOSviewer 1.6.19. Blockchain provides two-fold benefits to the e-government system i.e., benefits to citizens and benefits to government bodies. Blockchain engages citizens in the service delivery process, ensures trust, enables access to government facilities easily, and maintains Self-Sovereign Identity and secure data. Blockchain ensures transparency and accountability among the agencies and ministries of government and facilitates cross-border activities. Having enormous benefits, governments face technological, organizational, and environmental challenges in using blockchain in the public sector. Government bodies should adopt blockchain to reap the benefits and address the challenges of implementing blockchain

    Get PDF
This research paper investigates the role of digital forensics in Bangladesh\u27s police department\u27s fight against crime. The researcher administered questionnaires to 52 members of the Bangladesh police department and analyzed the data. The study identified six dimensions, including the accuracy of evidence collected, an improved procedure for collecting evidence, a higher conviction rate, geolocating and criminal mapping, crime prevention, and fresh perspectives on cases. Through data analysis, the study determined that the accuracy of collected evidence, the enhancement of the evidence collection process, the improvement of geolocation and criminal mapping, and the introduction of new perspectives on cases positively impact the capacity of digital forensics to combat crime. Digital forensics has the greatest impact on fighting crime in terms of new perspectives on cases, enhanced evidence collection procedures, and increased conviction rates, according to the study. Analysis of multicollinearity revealed that the values of all independent variables can be predicted independently, and the total variance inflation factor was less than three, indicating that the research model is acceptable. The study concludes that the Bangladesh police department should prioritize incorporating digital forensics into their crime-fighting strategies, particularly in areas such as evidence collection, crime prevention, and criminal mapping, based on its findings. Additionally, the study recommends that police officers receive adequate training in digital forensics to utilize the technology effectively in their daily operations. The study sheds light on the role of digital forensics in the Bangladesh police department\u27s fight against crime. The findings indicate that digital forensics has the potential to increase conviction rates, enhance evidence-collection processes, and improve the veracity of collected evidence. The study suggests that the Bangladesh police department invests in digital forensics technology and training to enhance their crime-fighting abilities

The AI-Driven Future of Mobile Finance: Understanding User Perceptions in Bangladesh

    Get PDF
This paper investigates the relationship between user perception factors and AI-driven user experience in Bangladeshi mobile financial services. Two factors for AI-driven user experience (AI-hedonic user experience and AI-recognition user experience) and five factors for user perception—user-friendliness, personalization, trust, relationship commitment, and user satisfaction—are used in the research. The population of this study was the users of the MFS industry in Bangladesh. The study comprises 226 respondents, using a convenience sampling technique. The study showed that three user perception variables—user-friendliness, relationship commitment, and user satisfaction—positively and significantly affected AI-driven hedonic and recognition user experiences. Alone, the trust generated a positive, significant impact on AI-driven hedonic user experiences. Personalization, however, was found to have no substantial or positive effect on the hedonic, recognition, and AI-driven user experiences among Bangladeshi MFS users. Therefore, mobile financial organizations should increase customer trust and implement more customized AI-driven solutions to enhance brand competency and gain a sustainable competitive advantage

An Empirical Investigation of the Relationship among Internet Addiction, Emotional Instability, and Academic Performance of Undergraduate Students in Bangladesh

    Get PDF
These days, a high level of internet addiction negatively impacts students\u27 activities, creates instability, and can lead to depression, poor time management, and lower academic performance. Therefore, the current study aims to explore the impact of internet addiction on students\u27 academic performance and emotional instability. The emotional effects on academic performance were also analyzed. We conducted this study among 389 university students in Rangpur Division, Bangladesh. We adopted the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique for analysis. We used Smart PLS 4.0 to analyze the data. Here, all hypotheses were accepted. The study found that internet addiction has negatively affected students’ academic performance and also has a positive relationship with emotional instability. This emotional instability has negatively affected academic performance. The results of this study will serve as guidelines for people such as students, teachers, parents, and universities. Teachers and universities can create a new policy for internet use. This study can remind parents to better supervise their children\u27s online use by decreasing broadband allotment and monitoring. It can also alert students to the negative impacts of excessive internet use, so they should utilize it carefully for educational objectives

Revisiting the Rana Plaza Collapse Tragedy in Bangladesh: A Study of Aftermath Cases from the Victims’ Perspective

    Get PDF
The Rana Plaza (RP) collapse is considered one of the deadliest industrial disasters in history, and it exposed critical ethical failures within the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry. This paper explores the tragedy through the theoretical lens of unethical business practices that contributed to the occurrence of such a disaster and increased the magnitude of the disaster. The present research, adopting a qualitative case study approach on the basis of secondary data, explores eight illustrative cases in order to look at the human, social, and economic impacts of the collapse. The findings detail how unethical practices, including violations of building codes, unsafe working conditions, and employee exploitation, resulted in immense human suffering among vulnerable victims hailing from the poorest sections of Bangladesh. The study highlights specific gaps in organizational accountability and systemic failure within the rehabilitation process among survivors. This study identifies that unethical business practices lead to the RP tragedy and contributes to the literature on the RMG industry, industrial hazards, and business ethics. Additionally, it offers actionable recommendations to promote ethical adherence and strengthen regulatory enforcement within the RMG industry. The urgency of taking proactive measures to prevent future disasters and ensure sustainable development through ethics-oriented business practices has been clearly underscored
