Uniwersytet Pedagogiczny im. Komisji Edukacji Narodowej w Krakowie. Wydział Geograficzno-Biologiczny. Praca doktorska wykonana w Zakładzie Zoologii Kręgowców i Biologii Człowieka Instytutu Biologii Uniwersytetu Pedagogicznego. Promotor: dr hab. Grzegorz Formicki, prof. The aim of this study was to determine the concentration of Hg, Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, Mg, Fe, Ca, glutathione (GSH) and catalase (CAT) activity in honeybees (Apis melifera) and in bees’ products. The test material came from eight apiaries found in the areas of eight townships located in southern Poland: As a result of the study, it can be concluded that bee products produced in the spring contain fewer heavy metals than those produced by these insects in the summer. Bees and bee products differed from one another in terms of the content of toxic elements, based on which it can be assumed that effective monitoring can be carried out only in the use of all bee products. The least contaminated bee product is honey, which contained fewer heavy metals in both spring and summer out of all the tested bee products. Honey is content many antioxidants, boosting the immune system. I observed particularly high rates of catalase activity in honey from Rudawka and Luborzyca, while the highest amount of glutathione was observed in honey from Rudawka and Podszkle

Kryzys połowy życia u kobiet - specyfika, problematyka i formy pomocy

    Get PDF
Wiek średni to w wielu przypadkach okres zmian sytuacji życiowej: dorastania, a następnie odchodzenia dzieci z domu, nierzadko chorób i śmierci rodziców oraz zmiany pozycji zawodowej.

The Commission of National Education in connection to the Hugo Kołłątaj’s draft of legal studies

Enlightenment, as commonly known, by recognizing rationalism, empiricism and utilitarianism as the main benchmark of the progress of science, led to a significant revaluation in the hierarchy of the existing authorities, resulting in the decrease of the previously unquestioned position of religion and tradition. This was also reflected in legal sciences, where the doctrine of the law of nature was placed in the foreground. The implementation of these assumptions had to, obviously, result in significant changes in the curricula of university studies, which did not exclude the Cracow Academy. The reform of the Academy in the spirit of the Enlightenment, was entrusted by The Commission of National Education to Hugo Kołłątaj, who while performing that task, prepared a memorandum O wprowadzeniu dobrych nauk do Akademii Krakowskiej [On the introduction of good teaching at the Cracow Academy]. He proposed the introduction of a new subject called “history of all rights” in place of the Roman law. This new subject was to include the history of the different legal systems, among other: Jewish, Carthaginian, Cretan, Lacedemonian and, treated on the same principles, Roman. The Commission of National Education did not, however, take Kołłątaj’s suggestions into account

“Screen” addiction as a contemporary threat to the family

The technique is based on different principles than the Nature is. It may complement or assist the Nature but it cannot replace it without reducing the richness of the phenomenon of life. Similar restrictions apply to the contact with people. Psychologists claim that the number of people with whom a person is able to establish a real relationship, is limited to 150 persons. Excess of contacts leads to superficiality and temporariness. The discovery that life partner or family members are involved in compulsive or inappropriate online erotic behavior causes a shock. Partners are then in a very difficult position, they don’t know how to behave, what method of operation to adopt. The most common reactions include: attempt to take responsibility of the loved ones, attempts “to deserve the love”, pushing their own needs on the back burner of their interests, strong emotional attachment to a partner with exclusion of admitting the existence of the disease, loss of self-identity and lack of perception of own feelings and needs. All of these indicate the existence of so-called codependency to your partner. In fact the addiction affects not just one person, but the functioning of the entire family

Between the fascination and the distance : mental ilness in mass culture versus its social perception

    Get PDF
The aim of this paper is to juxtapose the image of mentally ill persons in the world cinematography with the perceptions of this social category in the Polish society. Analysis made by the author was based on the selection of well known movies to compare with some results that are available in the reports published by CBOS (a Polish Public Opinion Research Centre). In both sources the social isolation of mentally ill people is a key trait of their image, moreover, the way mental illness is shown in movies is relatively stereotypical and departs from scientific knowledge, whereas people interviewed in the surveys regarding their contacts with and attitudes toward the mentally ill individuals reveal their apprehension and willingness to keep a distance

Transformations of work take place as a result of many factors. One of them is the scientific and technical progress. Years ago, significant progress has been made through automation, followed by robotics, and now the computerization of production processes. There has been a massive shift from physical work to intellectual work, from simple to complex work. Over time, mental effort gained in importance to become dominant. Finally, included the creativity - also auto – creative efforts. This in turn caused a change in eligibility requirements based on experience and replacing them with those which are systems of motor skills and intellectual supported by scientific knowledge and relevant to the job requirements personality traits. In Poland, a significant impact on the transformation of work have change of the political system. The political transformation has contributed to the occurrence of migration. During a stay in emigration takes place relatively deep reconstruction of the structure of knowledge and skills in the wider cultural transformation for the individual and society

    No full text
The author, a social psychologist and migration researcher, presents a study of 46 young Polish women, concerning their dreams about decent work abroad. The subjects declare to work in the future in the area strictly connected with their university studies (pedagogics). Only very few take into consideration the possibility of brain waste work. More than two thirds (69%) would like to work abroad as specialists, which number is similar to many other Polish migration studies. Most subjects declare that “a good job” means decent work in terms of wages, durable contract and worker rights respected. The author analyses the results in the context of other contemporary studies about young women and men dreams of good life and good work, including studies on brain waste situation
