In the wake of increasing competition and financial deregulation, the traditional intermediation activities have been declining as proportion of total banking activities. Banks are left with no choice but to be more creative to survive in the market place. Therefore, banks have been attempting to offset this decline in profits with income generated from non-traditional / non-intermediation activities. After the recent global crisis, both Islamic and conventional banks in OIC countries have also shifted their business focus. The thesis addresses the failure of a model of economic development in Senegal and many other developing countries. Despite decades of economic adjustment programs designed by international financial institutions and supported by donors, Senegal could not achieve sustained prosperity or show strong internal and external balances. Determinants of spread and measuring financial performance of government staff personal loans
Malaysian firms have been reported to involve in Asset-Backed Securities since 1986s where Cagamas is a pioneer. This research aims to examine the factor of influencing the primary market spread and measure financial performance of RCE Marketing as case study. Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression analysis are applied for the study period 2007-2012. The result shows two determinants influence or contribute to the primary market spread and are statistically significant for the case study for RCE Marketing. The financial performance shows that this company is resilient during global financial crisis. RCE Marketing also shows better profitability capacity and dividend payments to their investors
