Study of different techniques for face recognition

    Get PDF
The most significant part of face recognition is the input representation. This refers to the transformation of the intensity map to a form of input representation that allows easy and effective extraction of highly discriminative features. The next stage is classification. Although this is an important stage, the popular techniques and their strengths are fairly similar to each other. As such, the choice of classification algorithm does not affect the recognition accuracy as much as input representation. Input representation is the major factor that differentiate face recognition algorithms. It can be approached in 2 manners: a geometrical approach that uses spatial configuration of the facial feature, and a more pictorial approach that uses image-based representation. In this paper a set of different face recognition algorithms are reviewed, and the best practices in this domain are studied and verified

In present investigation study of fungi associated seeds of groundnut variety local revealed presence of 20 fungi on the seed surface. Seed Borne fungi like Alternaria , Aspergillus flavus, Curvularialunata, and Fusarium moniliforme were found. These fungi were found to be responsible for the loss in dry weight (dwt), loss in total protein content (TPC), total fat content (TFC) and total starch content (TSC) of the seeds of groundnut variety. The culture filtrates (CF) of the predominant seed Borne fungi where found to be in inhibitory for seed germination (CG) and Seedling emergence (SE) Of the test cultivar, therefore the root , stem and leaf extracts of ocimum sanctum L. were used for the biocontrol of the seed mycoflora of groundnut. The test extract were found to be inhibitory for the incidence of seed microflora (ISM), for germination and growth of the seed Borne fungi. Also found stimulatory for the SG and SE of the groundnut

The culture of gender discrimination is nothing for Indian society. Its roots are seen from ancient times, which have flourished in the form of female harassment, neglect, exploitation. While there is no decrease in crimes against women. This is the reason why under the research paper "Crime against women in the 21st century", the study of the causes of crime against women in the 21st century and the efforts made by the Government of India for the prevention of crime against women Although it was done, an attempt was made to find out the hidden reasons behind the reduction in crime with the woman, however, an analysis has been made based on the data obtained from the study

The purpose of this study is to establish the effect of product innovations on performance of small and medium manufacturing enterprises in Nairobi county, Kenya. The study was anchored in the Resource Based theory and Diffusion Innovation theory. The study used positivism research philosophy and explanatory research design. A representative sample of 254 managers or owner managers was selected from manufacturing SMEs registered under Kenya Association of Manufacturers using stratified random sampling. Structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. The study collected both qualitative and quantitative data. The questionnaire was pre-tested to ensure its validity and reliability. The data collected was tested for the assumptions of various analytical models upon which the most appropriate was selected. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used in analyzing the data. Linear regressions were used to establish the effect of independent variable on dependent variable. A linear regression model was used to explore the relationship between product innovations and firm performance. From the model, the product innovations account for 26.3% (R2=.263) variation in firm performance. The study findings depicted that there was a positive significant relationship between product innovations and firm performance. The product innovations had a significant effect on firm performance. The study concluded that product innovations have a significant effect on performance of small and medium manufacturing enterprises. For every adoption of product innovation, there was a corresponding increase in performance of small and medium manufacturing enterprises in Nairobi County. The management of small-medium manufacturing enterprises should encourage product innovation within the industry. Get PDF
This study aims at describing the forms of reduplication in the Suwawa Language. Data in this study were gathered from native speakers of the Suwawa language who lived in Suwawa, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. Data were collected through observation, interview, and note-taking techniques. The collected data were then analyzed qualitatively by following the stages of data analysis by Miles, Huberman, & Saldana (2014), consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing or data verification. Based on the results of data analysis, the researchers found five forms of reduplication in the Suwawa language: (1) complete reduplication, which can be divided into (a) complete reduplication of basic words and (b) complete reduplication with affixes, (2) reduplication with affixes, (3) reduplication with sound changing, (4) partial reduplication, which can be divided into (a) partial reduplication of one syllable and (b) partial reduplication of two syllables, and (5) pseudo reduplication
