Effects of Humor on Psychological Reactance
application/pdfThis study examined effects of the types of humor on psychological reactance. Factorial after-only design that included 2 experimental conditions (the types of humor : aggressive humor or playful humor) with a control group was used. Three hundred university students participated in the experiment as subjects. Dependent variables were receivers' psychological reactance, and receivers' thinking, to the persuasive message. The results are indicated as follows : First of all, Both types of humor restrained more psychological reactance than the message that included no humor stimulus. Second, playful humor restrained more receivers' negative thinking than the message that included no humor stimulus. Finally, the importance of type of humor and the further directions for research in this area were discussed
Are we able to surpass Shigeo Okamura? - "Regional community relationships (principle) "
application/pdfEiichi Okamoto proposed the new view that Shigeo Okamura's community-based welfare theory ended without a thorough exploration; it was supposed to be led by the "regional community relationships" principle, just like his social welfare theory was led by the "social relationships" principle. I think that the principle of social relationships is carried through the community-based welfare theory of Shigeo Okamura as well
For the improvement of overseas students' support - On the basis of questionaire survey on the Chinese overseas students -
application/pdfThe `300000 overseas students project' gave a considerable boost to the increase of the number of overseas students in Japan. However, Japanese government has made a considerable cutdown on the financial aid to the overseas students in Japan. Under the contradictory overseas student policy, that is, the number of students increases while the aid on them decreases, each university's support program for overseas students has to be reconsidered. In this essay, the author points out several problems which overseas students now have and considers how to support overseas students in future mentally as well as financially. These problems are derived from the questionaire survey done on the Chinese studenrs in the business engineering department of Takamatsu University
