A Typological Study of Semantic Change of Modality : The Perspective of 'Applied Cognitive Linguistics'
Get PDFapplication/pdf`Applied Cognitive Linguistics' utilizing the theory of cognitive linguistics for the analysis of second language acquisition is known as a new discipline in the area of applied linguistics (Pütz 2001). The author had been conducted a series of research analyzing the process of Chinese learners'acquisition of Japanese modal markers as a study of Applied Cognitive Linguistics (e.g. Tamaji & Horie 2007a, 2007b). These studies are also applicable to analogize the grammaticalization of modality based on the parallelism between language acquisition and diachronic grammaticalization (e.g. Slobin 1977, 1994). This study aims to establish `Synchronic Typology', the strategic use of such parallelism for the study of grammaticalization (Giacalone-Ramat 2003) as a new trend of 'Applied Cognitive Linguistics'

The class that was open was, Childcare Laboratory I－I. The theme of the class was How to build the characteristics of a strong childcare professional. The sub-theme was, Taking a look at the world of children.
The class focused on using children’s games as a point of instruction, moreover how to develop yourself as a strong childcare professional by deepening your interest in the use of picture books in every class.
Students learned the secrets of becoming childcare professionals, and progressed by learning how to keep records on children’s daily progress. Finally, students realized how they can become better childcare professionals by watching videos and realizing how children develop with the assistance of the childcare professional
Dogen and assistance for death

Why do some people with a Buddha nature（everyone is qualified to reach “Buddhahood”（the state of perfect enlightenment））have aspirations in their lives, but others do not? When Dogen was asked of this question, he replied, “People with aspirations know that everyone dies eventually. People without aspirations do not know the true meaning of the fact that everyone dies.
