A proposal for teaching Art and Design in preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school teacher training programmes
application/pdfUniversity Art and Design classes for nursery and elementary school teacher training should not be a repetition or extension of art classes at junior high schools and high schools.
They should be classes to experience Art and Design, and to develop Art and Design materials for infants and children so that teacher trainees can teach these at preschools and schools after graduation. In addition, these classes should be classes to enhance the ability to compose and develop Art and Design skills. Based on this concept, this paper describes concrete practices of teaching Art and Design at universities for training nursery and elementary school teachers, with the following requirements: teaching materials that students can enjoy working with, teaching materials that integrate classroom Art and Design activities into children's Art and Design activities, and viewing materials that enable children to learn about various works and Art and Design activities. This paper includes specific practices
An Attempt at Real-time Game Analysis in Handball - Development of Real-time Game Analysis Tools and Inter-analyst Reliability -
application/pdfAnalysis of competitions in real-time is currently one of the most important aspects for developing team sports. This study was to determine the inter-observer reliability of a real-time observation tool for handball that can be created and used even by amateur teams. Two observers analyzed five games in the Japanese C Block University Handball Championship Autumn League. The two observers trained for 30 hours in game analysis during the period from July 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023, in games and practice games with other team. Observer 1 analyzed the VTRs of the above five games pausing the video at times, while Observer 2 analyzed it in a form close to real-time without pausing the VTR. The reliability of the results analyzed by both observers was then compared. The agreement of the recognized plays in each of the five games resulted in a very high correlation (Kappa values were 0.838, 0.833, 0.859, 0.866, and 0.775). In addition, the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) of the performance indicators of individual players recognized by the two observers ranged from 0.616 to 1.00, indicating a high level of reliability. These results indicate that the data input by observers trained using real-time game analysis tool was reliable
Report and observations on an art and craft experience class for third grade of elementary school at Takamatsu University
application/pdfThis article describes the 90-minute art classes given to third graders at Takamatsu Municipal Takamatsu Elementary School by our university this year and last year, and presents the specific teaching content, such as specific items presented and handouts on the day, and lesson plans, as well as the children's works after the classes (by expression type, etc.), questionnaire survey results, and impressions of the students who participated as teaching assistants, to shed light on the full picture of the classes. As a result, we hope to provide materials that will enable those involved in instruction, including our university's students, to think about how to teach "pictorial activities" in elementary school art and craft classes, and in particular about the pros and cons of having children draw in the order shown or copy reference works
