    EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT FACTORS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES IN JAIZ BANK PLC, ABUJA

    This study seeks to x-ray, the effect of effective of communication in change process on the performance of workers; the influence of employee development on employees’ performance; effect of tolerance to change on employees’ performance; effect of leadership on employees’ performance; and effect of procedural justices on employees’ performance in Jaiz bank Plc, Abuja. A survey descriptive research design is adopted where primary data was mainly used through the use of questionnaire. The study utilized both descriptive and inferential (OLS regression) statistics to test and drawn conclusion for the study. The findings reveal that employee’s development, leadership and tolerance to change have positive and significant effect on workers’ performance in Jaiz bank Abuja. The study also found that while communication has positive but no significant effect, procedural justice has negative and no significant effect on the performance of workers in jaiz bank Abuja. The study concluded that organizational change factors have significant effect on the workers performance in Jaiz bank Abuja. The study recommended that the management of Jaiz bank should improve effective communication, improve and commitment resources in employees’ development, enhance leadership skill and qualities

    Impact of Information and Communication Technology on the Management of Entrepreneurship Education in Kogi State

    Information and communication technology is a phenomenon that is affecting every aspect of human endeavour. It has contributed in making the world a global enclave via the diverse tools it has provided. This paper discussed the emerging issues in ICT such as the concept of information communication technology (ICT), common types of information communication technology (ICT) gadgets, the concept of entrepreneurship, and  role of information communication technology (ICT) in entrepreneurship education. Also discussed were objectives of entrepreneurship education, management of entrepreneurship education, the significance of information communication technology (ICT) in teaching and learning process, and challenges bedeviling information communication technology (ICT) utilization in Nigerian schools. The Theory of technology acceptance was adopted because it is most appropriate for the study. In order to achieve the desired result, the writer exploited internet searches and documentary sources in the collation of data. Findings show that there is poor level of students’ knowledge of information communication technology (ICT) in the learning of entrepreneurship education subjects in schools. There is also lack of information communication technology (ICT) infrastructural facilities. It was concluded among others that information communication technology (ICT) supported education enhances the attainment of values, skills, and abilities which would empower students for positive and permanent change in behavior, especially in this era of globalization. The paper recommended that, government should support teachers and management of schools in the sensitization of students in information communication technology (ICT) facilities for instructional purpose. Also, there should be adequate provision and maintenance of information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructural facilities

This phenomenon prompted the work on small and medium scale enterprises and deposit money banks credit for economic growth in Nigeria. The SMEs is globally known to grow the economy of the nations through its ability to diversify the economy and promote indigenous technology and service development through entrepreneurship. The work considered many interventions through many schemes and policies alongside the involvement of deposit money banks in providing finances to this organ. Some plausible recommendations were advanced for the attainment of suitable SMEs to create employment and alleviate poverty to boost the standard of living

    COMPETENCY-BASED LEARNING AND TAKE-HOME BENEFITS FROM ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

    This paper underscores the place of competency-based learning as an approach in the development of entrepreneurial behaviour. It discusses the concept of entrepreneurial competencies which is geared towards developing necessary skills for empowering learners for effective teamwork management, and be able to establish and run an enterprise successfully based on identified opportunities. When fully grounded in these skills, citizens would be empowered to be self reliant, and be obsessed with self[1]employment for job creation. Anchored on qualitative research methodology, the paper looked at the concept of competency-based learning as an approach, and its’ relevance to entrepreneurial behaviour as it affects teamwork management and opportunity recognition competency skills with theoretical framework underpinned in skills acquisition theory. Findings of the study revealed that many businesses in Nigeria face difficulties because the necessary manpower to provide the right type of skills, knowledge, and competencies is inadequate. The study concluded that competency[1]based learning as an approach in revamping the economy is indispensable. It is therefore, recommended that Management of organizations should give their teams the autonomy to operate freely, and there should be enabling atmosphere to discover opportunities

    ECLECTIC THEORY OF TAXATION: ITS IMPLICATIONS ON FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA

    The issue of tax has been one of the major concerns of countries all over the world because of its implications in generating revenue for expenditure. Thus, each country would act accordingly to attract more foreign investors and to stimulate the inflow of foreign direct investments. Tax policies are fundamental in the final choice for an investor wishing to invest in another country. Foreign direct investment attracts direct tax to host country which can have implications on economic growth and development. This paper focused on eclectic theory of taxation. It specifically examine issues of foreign direct investment, direct tax and eclectic theory. It is conceptual review of literature It is a library type of research through conceptual review of literature. Information used were obtained from secondary source of collection like journal articles, textbooks, seminar papers, unpublished theses, conference papers etc. The theoretical framework has proved that eclectic theory centred on three critical issues in terms of ownership, location and internalization (OLI) advantages for foreign direct investment to take place in another country. Extant studies examined showed that governments of countries create enabling environment especially in areas of tax policies in order to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). It therefore recommended that government should give more tax incentives like investment allowance, capital allowance, tax holidays and pioneer companies relief especially to foreign investors in order to attract more foreign direct investment and direct tax revenues in the long run towards economic growth in Nigeria

    Internal Marketing Practices and Employee Retention in Deposit Money Banks

    It is a truism that employees serve as the fulcrum on which organizations activities are aligned. As a result of employees’ pivotal roles, retaining them has become a herculean task to managers. Against this back drop, this paper examines internal marketing as a strategy for retaining employees in deposit money banks in Nigeria. Three objectives derived from the measurable dimensions of internal marketing are explored in this research. This study adopted the correlational research design while purposive method was used in distributing 120 copies of questionnaire to full time employees of 8 banks in Ekpoma Edo state Nigeria. 100 copies were retrieved and 80 was found usable. This represents 75% return rate. Data were analysed with mean and standard deviation while the hypotheses were tested with one way Analysis of Variance, Pearson correlation and simple linear regression. The study found job satisfaction, training and motivation exhibit significant and positive relationships with employee retention. The paper therefore recommend that bank management imbibe the tenets of internal marketing with the intent of creating long tenure employees

    EFFECT OF BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT ON PERFORMANCE OF SELECTED SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SMES) IN NORTH EAST NIGERIA

    This study assessed the effect of business environment on performance of selected SMEs in North East Nigeria due to the problem of poor SMEs performance in the region. The population of the study was all SMEs in North East Nigeria from which a sample of 400 was selected respondents from the states. The study utilized multiple regression technique in analysing the data collected. The findings showed that socio-cultural environment had an insignificant positive effect on SMEs performance in the region while legal and technological environment had positive and significant effects on SMEs performance in the study area. The study therefore recommends that the SMEs should improve their strategies towards socio-cultural environment, always pay attention to technological advancements and changes and consistently adapt, and SMEs should unite into strong unions that can liaise with the government and its regulatory bodies

    Differentiation Strategy and Performance of Furniture Manufacturing Businesses in Maiduguri Metropolis

    This paper examines the connection between differentiation strategy and performance of Furniture Manufacturing Business in Maiduguri Metropolis Borno State, yet explicitly looks to explore the association between innovative differentiation and Small Scale Business (SSBs) Performance and additionally to look at the impact of Quality differentiation and SSBs Performance. Resource Based Theory of Wernerfelt (1984) was used to guide the study. Survey research design was used in other to explore the connection between differentiation strategy and furniture manufacturing Business. Structured questionnaire was used to collect the data based on five Likert scale. The target population was registered Furniture Manufacturer in Maiduguri Metropolis. A sum of 229 questionnaires were distributed to Owners/Managers of furniture manufacturer in Maiduguri Metropolis. Out of this number, 211were correctly filled and retrieved. The data collected was analysed using General Least Square aided by Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23.0. The result shows that there is a statistically significant connection between innovative differentiation and performance of Furniture Manufacturing Business in Maiduguri Metropolis also quality differentiation revealed significant positive effect on their performance. It was recommended that Furniture Manufacturer should deploy work practices that encourage the development of innovative skills and produce a qualitative product which give them competitive advantage

    Effect of Electronic Marketing on the Financial Performance of SMES in Enugu State of Nigeria

    Majority of SMEs in Enugu State, Nigeria, are wary of adopting an e-marketing system because they believe it would be expensive to construct, fraudulent, and put them at risk online. In this study, we focus on the financial performance of SMEs in the food/accommodation, manufacturing, retail/wholesale, and transportation service sectors in Enugu State, Nigeria, and analyze the effect of e-marketing on it. The study's specific objectives were to investigate the effects of email marketing, electronic advertising, and electronic payment marketing on the financial performance of SMEs. In order to create a sample that accurately reflected the whole population, the study used a survey research approach to gather data from respondents. 50 SMEs were the target group in Enugu State. Results showed that electronic advertising, email marketing, and electronic payment marketing all significantly impacted firm performance. The survey found that Enugu State SMEs engaged in e-marketing had seen above-average business performance

    IMPACT OF MONETARY POLICY ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA (1986 -2019)

    The growing importance of monetary policy has made its effectiveness in influencing economic growth a priority to most governments. Therefore the study investigates the impact of monetary policy on economic growth in Nigeria from 1986 to 2019, by using interest rate variables for monetary policy and GDP as a proxy for economic growth. The study applied the autoregressive distributive lag (ARDL) model to analyze the data. The result shows that interest rate and domestic credit have a statistically significant impact on economic growth in Nigeria while the exchange rate on the other hand has a statically non-significant effect on economic growth. It is therefore recommends that the central bank of Nigeria should continue to use appropriate monetary policy instruments to support Nigeria’s economic growth taking into account economic and political conditions in the country
