Improving Queries to Retrieval-Augmented Generation AI Tools by Inferring the Sources of Bad Results
Since ChatGPT’s wide release, businesses have rushed into expanding their use of generative artificial intelligence. Information providers, including suppliers of library databases and integrated library systems, are joining the trend, with many products combining the verifiability of direct source access and citation with the conversational answers produced through large language models. Retrieval-augmented generation is a common technique that overlays search results with text extracted and processed through generative artificial intelligence. This poster provides an overview of retrieval-augmented generation and summarizes ways that it can produce errors. Strategies for improving results, based on those error modes are suggested

DICKKOPF1(DKK1): A NOVEL ENDOGENOUS LIGAND TO PRIME NLRP3 INFLAMMASOME VIA TLR4
Dickkopf1(DKK1) is a quintessential Wnt antagonist and immunomodulator in various inflammatory diseases. The underlying molecular mechanisms of DKK1-mediated immunomodulation remain elusive. Here, we identified TLR4 as a new receptor for DKK1 to activate NFκΒ pathway-mediated gene expression and pyroptosis via NLRP3 inflammasome in human and mouse macrophages.
DKK1 employed TLR4 to initiate NFκB signaling cascade via MyD88. MyD88-TAK1-NFκΒ pathway activation by DKK1 increased HIF1α, NFκB, and NLRP3 protein expression levels, leading to pyroptosis. Unlike LPS, DKK1 did not induce IRAK4 phosphorylation, while the interaction between MyD88 and IRAK4 was maintained for downstream signaling activation. DKK1 did not induce IRF3 phosphorylation in the nucleus and failed to induce IFNβ gene expression, indicating differential signaling from LPS. DKK1 primed macrophages via TLR4-MyD88, resulting in NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis via Caspase-1 and Gasdermin D maturation with various NLRP3 inflammasome activators, including Nigericin. Our results demonstrate that DKK1 is a novel endogenous priming ligand that augments differential NFκB pathway from LPS and NLRP3 inflammasome activation via TLR4 in mouse and human macrophages
Investor Relations in the Fashion Industry: An Investigation of the Role of Sustainability in Investment Using the Situational Theory of Problem-Solving and Organization-Public Relationship Frameworks
This study examines the factors affecting individual investors\u27 decision-making in the fashion industry, focusing on the impact of sustainability and investor relations. By employing both the Situational Theory of Problem Solving (STOPS) and the Organization- Public Relationship (OPR) frameworks, this paper investigates the influence of variables such as problem recognition, constraint recognition, involvement recognition, and relationship qualities, including commitment and control mutuality, on investors\u27 situational motivation and communication actions. Weighted regression analysis was conducted to evaluate hypotheses pertaining to these variables. The study also explores the types and sources of investment information that investors most used and preferred. The findings show that most STOPS’ predictors effectively triggers investors\u27 motivation regarding investment, whereas commitment and control mutuality substantially impact communicative behaviors and investment intentions. Among communicative actions, information acquisition significantly influences investors\u27 willingness to invest in fashion companies. In addition, the study emphasizes the importance of financial and sustainability reporting communication, primarily via the company’s annual reports and SEC filings, when considering investment in the fashion industry. The findings highlight the increasing value of incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards alongside financial performance reports to appeal to both profit-oriented and socially responsible investors. Practical implications suggest that fashion firms should prioritize the transparent communication of brand identity and accomplishments, enhance investor participation via collaborative platforms, and design sustainable strategies to align with investor expectations. This study advances the knowledge of investors\u27 behaviors in the fashion industry and provides insightful guidance for improving investor relations approaches

Desistance, Emancipation, Empathy, and Pedagogy: The Incarcerated Teaching Artist’s Approach to Poetry
The Art of Recovery and Therapy (ART) leisure time activity group at Valley State Prison (VSP) in Chowchilla, California, is a resident-led arts and humanities-based self-help forum that has been available to carceral state residents for more than a decade and is administered in collaboration with full-time, non-custody, civil servant facility staff (CDCR site, n.d.). ART is among the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s (CDCR) longest running and most autonomous creator habitats founded and facilitated entirely by resident practitioners. ART wields a codified state regulatory authority to function and fundraise (Cal. Code Regs. § 3233-3237, 3240) as well as a Warden-authorized mandate to deliver 15-week ongoing cycles of artist resident-taught multidisciplinary workshops in craft work, painting, music, theater, dance, audio technology, creative writing, and film. Since 2019, I have facilitated the Barz Behind Bars (B3) Creative Writing Spoken Word Performance Art Workshop (B3 site, n.d.), a modality I first co-created with my concurrently incarcerated peers Benjamin Frandsen and The Mundo Press, which has since become adapted to incorporate The Pennebaker Protocol (a technique employing expressive writing as a therapeutic approach to processing challenging emotions) and novel breathing and memorization techniques employed by Poet Laureate Austin Alexander to help steer participants through the processing of traumatic subject matter
