The Management of International Vocational Education and Training Networks Illustrated by the Example of Latin America
This position paper provides a detailed analysis of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) networks in Latin America, highlighting key challenges and proposing adaptable solutions for improvement. Through an extensive literature review and interviews with key stakeholders, eight main challenges are identified, including the lack of a common legal framework, need for mutual recognition of qualifications, and rapid globalization with the onset of Industry 4.0. This paper underscores these as the most pressing issues.
To address these challenges, the paper suggests a roadmap not designed as a one-size-fits-all solution but as a flexible framework that can be adapted to the unique contexts of different countries and regions. Key suggestions include embracing diversity by utilizing it as a strength and a resource, defining clear roles and responsibilities for efficient network operations, enhancing transparency through effective communication, establishing close collaboration with industry
stakeholders, advocating for mutual recognition of qualifications across the region, and ensuring the adaptability of the network to current and future trends.The paper strongly recommends: 1) establishing a regional common legal framework for VET, 2)
fostering mutual recognition of qualifications across countries, and 3) working closely with industry stakeholders to ensure that the VET curriculum remains relevant and adaptable to market needs. These recommendations are chiefly positioned within the areas of policy development, regional cooperation, and industry-academia collaboration.
The paper showcases various real-life examples of successful VET initiatives worldwide, offering concrete demonstrations of the suggested pathways in action. The proposed solutions demand concerted efforts from all stakeholders, including government institutions, industry partners, educational establishments, and individuals. By implementing these strategies, VET networks can situate themselves advantageously to address the future challenges of vocational education and training, thereby making substantial contributions to Latin America‘s socio-economic development.

Bidirectional Integration of Digital Product Passports into Information Systems of Production Planning and Control
Circular economy (CE) is considered to be the business model of the future, since it enables decoupling of economic growth and resource consumption. Digitalization is an enabler for companies to accomplish the transition to circular business models, as it enables automated data sharing and usage, but it also poses an enormous challenge. The data required for the implementation of circular business models is generated during the entire life cycle of a product. Digital product passports (DPP) represent a solution for the exchange of product-related data across the entire life cycle and various stakeholders. So far, they have hardly been integrated into production planning and control (PPC) systems. This paper describes requirements, specific use cases and related data flows for an integration of DPP and PPC systems. Finally, a model is presented that enables event-driven creation and use of data for the bidirectional integration of DPP into PPC systems

Die Anforderungen an die IT-Systeme ändern sich, das System kann jedoch nur mitwachsen, wenn es veränderungsfähig aufgebaut ist. Skalierbare IT-Systeme müssen veränderungsfähig sein.
Heutige, meist monolithische, IT-Systeme sind jedoch starr und werden einmalig implementiert und dann nicht mehr angepasst (Lebensdauer bis zu 10 Jahre). Dieses Poster präsentiert ein Vorgehen zur kontinuierlichen Implementierung von IT-Systemen im Sinne eines kontinuierlichen Anforderungsmanagements
A New Concept for Resilient and Green Freight Transport and Logistics Networks against Disruptive Events
The ReMuNet project aims to enhance the resilience and sustainability of European freight transport networks in response to disruptive events. By utilizing synchromodal relay transportation, it integrates multimodal logistics approaches to improve network efficiency and adaptability. Core functionalities include the detection and assessment of disruptive events, real-time route planning, and the use of AI to optimize multimodal transport routes. ReMuNet's collaborative platform fosters stakeholder coordination, ensuring capacity allocation and sustainable transport options. Pilot regions focus on geopolitical and ecological challenges, emphasizing lessons from past disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative aligns with the European Physical Internet vision, contributing to reduced emissions and robust freight logistics
Exploring Digital Leadership Traits
Digital leaders play a pivotal role in the success of digital transformation initiatives. They increase the confidence of their organizations during these often risky and disruptive transitions. The most pressing question is how they can lead their companies into a future that is continually shaped by digital innovations. Several methods for effective leadership have been theorized, and many of them have been substantiated and used in practice. But digital leadership demands a certain set of new dimensions ― human traits and technical skills ― to meet the challenges of the digital age. The digital leadership self-assessment scale helps leaders assess and improve their performance, no matter where they sit in the organization—CEO, CDO, functional leader, or program manager. Companies can use it to develop a digital-ready talent pool and the management teams necessary for leading successful and responsible digital transformations. In this article, we administer the self-assessment scale and assess how early career managers — professional MBA students — internalize these digital traits as they develop their careers and leadership abilities. We summarize the findings under three levels of understanding — knowledge-based, experience-based, and aspiration-based — and discuss their interconnectedness and collective role in strengthening the success of a digital leader's efforts
